Abelia Sprinkler Repairs

I found Abelia Sprinkler Repairs through Angie's List and they came highly recommended. After hiring them I can see why. My sprinkler system had a leak and when I called and spoke to David, the owner, he was honest and told me he couldn't come out until the following week. I decided I would go ahead and wait since everyone really liked his honesty and dependability. On the day of the repair, David called when he was on his way. When he arrived I explained the situation and he fixed the leak and then did an entire system check. He discovered that I actually had two leaks and that one was under my sidewalk. That sounded costly, but David suggested two different ways to fix it and said that he would work on it for 15 more minutes since I had already paid for the 1/2 hour. IF he couldn't fix it, I asked him just to cap it off since the sprinkler system past the sidewalk was part of a soaker hose that was watering some bushes. He was able to fix the leak and cleaned up the area to the point where I couldn't even tell he had dug into my flower garden. He was the most honest, dependable and kind repairman I have seen in years. I would definitely call him again!

Our lawn was showing that only some of the sprinkler heads were working. The front yard system was put in with the house, 13 years ago. Our landscape was redone about 6 years ago and we had additional zones added in the back yard. The front yard was in need of repair. We called the landscape company who did the last work and received an estimate of $75.00 per hour plus parts. We missed the call for scheduling and could never get them to call back again. Joined Angie's List to get some recommended businesses to work with. Chose Abelia from the web site. One phone call to set the appointment and David arrived on the scheduled day ready to make the repairs. Did the work in less than two hours and we are back in business. We used the coupon from the website and feel the whole experience was very positive.

He was punctual and professional. He offered two repair options and made his recommendation. The repairs were made promptly and for less than his estimate.

This was a great experience. When I called David, he happened to be between appointments and said he could come right away. He was at my house in less than 30 minutes, and got to work quickly. All of the work was done quickly and well. Couldn't be happier with the service or the price.

Not much more to add except what a real breath of fresh air to find someone who not only provides excellent service, but you can trust to make an inexpensive repair rather than being able to charge the customer for a more expensive replacement. David is courteous, professional and honest. It was a pleasure to do business with him. He also demonstrated the experience to handle the problem and come up with options and solutions in short order. Once I elected what I wanted to do as the customer, he had the work completed in a whole lot less time than I would have expected.

The price was a little under $700. The work went pretty well. I initially had told them that I had a couple of sprinkler heads that needed to be looked at. I also wanted the system checked. So, the guy came out and checked all my watering zones. He told me what has to be done or what he thought should be done. He gave me some choices and we agreed with the amount of work that needed to be done. He started that morning and finished that afternoon. I thought that the price was reasonable. I had no real comparison. I thought it was fine for the amount of work that he did and for the number of repair parts that had to go into the system. I think he went above and beyond. I called him about a week and a half before, but I knew that he wasn?t going to be able to make. He was there on the day and the time he said he was going to be there. He was very punctual. I would hire him again in the future.

Our sprinkler system was 10 years old, and installed by the previous owner. In the 8 years we've lived there, we have planted trees, dug in flower beds, and built a retaining wall. Because of all these changes, the locations of some of the sprinkler heads needed relocating, plus, some were just not working any more. David was very easy to reach on the phone, and was extremely accomodating to my and my husband's work schedule, agreeing to come for an estimate very early one morning so we could get to work on time. He got right to work inspecting our system, listening to our concerns, and answering our questions on whether a new pattern would work better for our needs. He assured us he would be able to reroute a couple of sprinklers to more adequately water our lawn with respect to the trees we'd planted, saving us quite a bit of money. He also replaced the broken sprinkler heads, and raised 3 of my existing heads to water the plants in my retaining wall. He also took the time to reset the timer on my system and explained to me which stations needed longer watering times and why. He completed everything the same day he came for the estimate, which means he was at our home while my husband and I were at work. When we came home that evening, our system worked great, our three dogs that were outside with him the entire time were safe and sound in the back yard, our gate was locked, and the key left right where he said he would leave it. David did a lot of work in the time he was at our home, and the attention to detail and concern for leaving things the way he found them were more than evident. In the four months since this job, I have planted crepe myrtles, and am thinking the system will need a bit more re-routing. David Neslon will be the person I call for the job. I don't feel the need to look elsewhere.

David came at the time he had made the appointment. He started work immediately and fixed the broken sprinkler that several others had tried and failed to fix. It is fixed. The valve had been installed improperly and David fixed it. The other valve was the main cutoff valve that was about 50 years old. He suggested a plumber because he was concerned that because of the issues involved we would be better off with a licensed plumber. He suggested one and the problem was fixed for a reasonable price. We will use this company again.

It is a difficult system to work on - some control valves under a deck, etc. He kept us informed as to his timing to arrive and did a good job when he was there. We will call him again if we have reason to.

It was a pleasure working with David - he does great work, is very knowledgable about sprinkler systems, very reliable, and the cost is very reasonable. He is very friendly, eager to answer questions and explain everything. I recommend him highly.

Mr Nelson showed up at the time agreed upon and I outlined to him what I wanted done. He proceeded to do the work described above in a professional manner, making suggestions as he went along. He is a very personable and intelligent young man who would make most folks feel comfortable. He spent about an hour on the job and charged what I thought was a very fair price.

August 17, 2010, Called Abelia and reached David Nelson, the owner, he was in his vehicle and could not take down the information, but said he would call me back. He did not call him back, that evening, but he had a long list of calls to make. I called him back the next morning and he was terrible apologetic, made me an appointment two weeks in the future. He also promised if he got any cancellations he would call me back and try to do it at an early time. He called back a little later and said that he had a change with his next customer, and we set a time. He called back three times and relayed that he was running into unforseen problems and it was taking him longer to compelete the job than he anticipates. He finally got to the house around 3:00 pm. We talked about what I wanted him to do. He set to work in a littler over an hour later. He reviewed everything with me, told me and showed me things I did not know about the system! The system works great. While we had a rocky start getting together, I am so glad I persisted! David is an extremely personable and hardworking young man, who knows what he is doing. I would heartily recommend him to anyone!!

Very well, he answered early in week, scheduled later in week, called and let me know he was going to be be a little late, worked hard, very thorough and extremely knowledgable and professional and easy to work with!

Great experience. David did exactly what I wanted. I just wanted to find the control valves in my old system. He went right to work and got the job done. Very reasonable price. Just this experience alone was worth the membership on Angies List. I will use David again.

I needed to do some landscaping in my yard but before I did, I needed to see if my sprinkler system was working properly. I called Arbelia's and they were very prompt about contacting me and coming to my house. They were there when they said they would be and at the specified time. I work, and they were very accommodating about my work schedule as well as what their timeframe was. My old sprinkler heads were checked and replaced and the timer set. It is an old system and I think some of the heads had been buried in the ground and had to be dug up and replaced so it was a tough job. Working with them was a great experience. Nice, nice people, too.

PERFECT! David was the consummate professional. Came Saturday morning and worked quickly. Explained what he needed to do and why. Great attitude and knowledge of his craft.

Everything turned out terrific. Their work ethic was very good and they had a very fair price.

Since we moved into our house 6 years ago a set of 6 sprinklers has never worked. Actually, the first head worked but the others did not. My hypothesis was that something was broken or the line was clogged. I had several people take a look at it throughout the years but none could figure it out. I was fed up with that statiion not working and was about to pay $600 to have that set of sprinklers completely redone. I called David @ Abelia and he suggested that we try and fix it first before tearing up the whole yard re-doing it. I was a bit skeptical because I had had a few people look at it before but none could figure it out. David thought that perhaps there was something clogging the line and we could flush it out. I was a bit skeptical since I had already had this done before with no results. Well, he was right. He had all the tools and equipment necessary. Some digging was necessary to trace the pipe but he cut the grass out in a way that he could lay it back down when he was done. 2 hours later my sprinklers were finally working. And for much less than the price that I was getting ready to pay to have it completely redone. David is a smart and honest guy. He is probably not the cheapest but the work is quality and worth it.

The work came in under his estimate and was a very quality job. This is my new sprinkler guy. I highly recommend this company.

Price quoted reflects 10% senior discount...he charges $75.00(1st hour minimum fee and $60,00 hourly rate after first hour......Dave was expensive but he was worth every penny,,,I hired someone to assist me with my landscaping renovation and while digging a hole -they broke a sprinkler pipe...called dave and told him i needed an immediate repair - he came immediately and did all work needed with excellence and in a timely manner...appreciated when your paying by the hour...i would use him again in a heartbeat........Don't laugh but repairing sprinklers is demanding and he up to physical challenges that this occupation requires... He is.honest...after gluing the repaired pipe section...he let us know that he needed to let the glue set before testing the sprinkler system --instead of standing around--- he inquired if we needed any other sprinkler work-- which we did. I needed new risers installed in a flowerbed....he worked on that while the glue was setting on the repair. Call him ....he is a hardworker, gracious and knowledgable....and willing to take an emergency call

David was great to work with on this job. He showed up on time to do the work. He's very friendly, knows what he's doing and did exactly what he said he was going to do. He left things very tidy when he was done. We will definitely call him again should we need any further service on our sprinkler system, and we wouldn't hesitate to refer him to others.

He was here on time and came on the agreed upon day.Was very knowledgeable neat and gave me an invoice that detailed the work done and price agreed upon.It was a good experience talking with him and the suggestions he had.
