Our garage door broke right after we took my car to be repaired. We were so relieved that my car was not stuck inside! Based on ratings here, we contacted this company. Ray was prompt courteous and quickly assessed the situation and what the cost would be. We had lived in the house for less than six months and noticed each garage door had a hitch or did not make the final descent smoothly. He pointed out an issue with the door that was broken (nothing to do with the broken spring) and also demonstrated why the other door had a problem. I did not get the sense at any time that he was trying to "up sell" me on additional repairs. In fact, he adjusted the rollers on the other door at no charge. We were leaving town the next day but made an appointment for him to come back to fix the other door. We COMPLETELY forgot about it when we got back. He rescheduled and took care of the other door just as well as the first. He pointed out that the issues with our doors created extra work for the motors in the openers, and keeping them in good repair can prevent issues with the opener mechanisms. I was very impressed overall and would definitely recommend the company and use again, although I hope we won't need to, of course.

He came in and immediately diagnosed the problem as the springs. They were quite old and rusted and were causing too much pressure for the motor to operate and caused the motor to over load and automatically shut down. He had all the necessary parts in his truck and performed the work in about one hour or less.

Everything went well. AAA was prompt, performed quality work, and acted courteously during the entire project.

The work started of badly, got worse, and then ended on a high note. AAA had replaced a broken spring in April 2011. In response to my call on Tues., July 26, 2011, they came out to assess my problem. Since I had only one spring on the door, I asked if two springs would fix the problem. AAA called a spring supplier and discovered that not only would two springs solve the problem, I needed larger springs than the one they had installed in April. At that time they had replaced the broken spring with one the same size. Apparently there had been an undersized spring on the door when I bought this house two years ago. I was a little miffed that AAA had not seen that I needed a larger spring in April, therefore the job started off badly. I could, however, understand to some extent how they would overlook the spring size. AAA said that they would pick up two larger springs Wed. morning and be here at around 10:30 AM. When they had not showed up by 1:30 PM, I called them. They had been delayed. Now it’s starting to get worse. I work at home, so being here at a specific time is not a problem, but I hate to stand around waiting. AAA said that they thought they could be at my house late Wed. afternoon. I told them that I could wait until Thurs. if that would be more convenient. They agreed to be here at 8:00 AM Thurs. At around noon they called and said that they had been delayed and had not called because they had lost my phone number. They had returned to the office to get the number off of the invoice for the work they had done in April. Thankfully, this was the bottom. They showed up at 1:30 PM and installed two new springs in under an hour. AAA realized that they had handled things somewhat poorly and only charged me for one new spring ($54.00) and nothing for labor. This was the high note. I felt that installing the wrong sized spring initially was not necessarily their problem and paid them $150.00. I would use AAA again, but I would make it clear that I feel that promptness is important. If they can’t be here as scheduled, a phone call will suffice.

The spring was replaced on 4/2/11. A-AAA did not have a strut with them, so they had to return on 4/4/11 with a new strut. They also replaced the rollers. The only problem I had after they left was that one of the tracks had been somewhat bent and I had to straighten it with a pair of pliers, a simple task. Before I straightened it, the edge of the door would hit it, making a disconcerting sound.

I called him from a flyer I received in the mail and found that he lives just a few blocks from me. He was very professional, courteous, and knew exactly what the problem was. He was also very punctual. He had the equipment on hand too, right in his truck, so he was able to fix it right away. The problem was that the rollers in the track had worn down, so he replaced those and made sure everything was aligned properly. I was very pleased with his service and he was a very nice man. I would definitely use him again. Overall, he was very nice, very knowledgeable, and very presentable.
