A-Star Appliance Repair

They are HORRIBLE! Before I start be prepared that the owner will likely run his mouth & take zero accountability after I submit this, he'll put it on everyone except for his lazy, lying, inconsiderate self. I had a drip under my refrigerator, I called filed a claim w/my home warranty on 1/19/22. They immediately sent this in writing to myself & A-Star appliance repair. I waited an hour before calling them myself. No answer. I called again. No answer, left a message. I called again. He answered! I explain the situation. I asked that someone please come out today. He said he can't it'll have to be tomorrow (Thursday). I tell him again about the leak. I've got towels down to absorb the moisture. He rudely told me "you're the home owner you should know how to turn off the water". I'm also a lady that cannot move a 500lb fridge. But I chill bc I need someone to come out asap. Next day Thursday morning, no call, finally reach out at 10ish. I explain that we need to be scheduled 1st or last as my husband & I are self employed & we have a 1230 appointment. He says he's working on the route. I get a call at 11am say he'll be here between 12-2. Calmly I say we can't be here, I explained that this morning. Can we be your last appointment? He gave a flat no! I'll have to reschedule for tomorrow. Not let me see what I can do, nothing. I say forget it then I'll go w/your competitor. Due to his laziness I ended up having thousands of dollars worth in floor damage all for a $50 part that this jerk couldn't be bothered with. He called on 1/25/22 saying he had a work order, forgetting we spoke. I say we found an other repai...click! This jerk hung up on me! He is a lazy, rude, unorganized & inconsiderate jerk. I notified the warranty company to have him removed as a vendor! Save yourself the headache of responding since I know you have no integrity or decency in you plus it would mean you'd actually have to do something. Then again you're best at running your rude mouth! It's a joke that you claim to help veterans for a sympathy marketing ***Consumers***- pick another repair company! Look at their reviews on the BBB as well. They are horrible. Do yourself a favor and pick someone else! Their lack of customer service or professionalism is disgusting and that's because they are in a service oriented profession. I called him directly Wednesday and Thursday. I even said when I absolutely could not be at the home which is conveniently when he scheduled it for. He didn't do work or step in my home because he's lazy and doesn't listen to the customer. He's gotten complacent with his home warranty referrals. Basically getting hand fed! He hasn't had a positive review in years! He needs to check himself! His laziness, & lack of attention has cost many customers thousands of dollars and inconvenience besides just me, I'm sure. He's the worst kind of small business owner. He's rude, unapologetic or unaccommodating. Total jerk!

A-Star came to our home in early July for a washer repair. We paid the money and it has now been close to 2 months and they still have not came to the house to fix the washer. We were told initially that the Part that was needed would take 7-10 business days. After the part didn’t come in in 10 days or we hadn’t heard from him in 10 days we were than quoted 15 days. We are well over the 15 business days and still have yet to have our washer repaired I would NEVER hire this company again. They have changed their story several times and at this point we might as well buy a new washer.

This job was harder than we thought but he completed the project.

Very well. He had to order a part. When the part came in, he installed it after 5pm. Was veryconvenient for me.

He tried fixing it but he couldn't because it was old and the part was expensive for the age of the refrigerator, it wasn't worth fixing. He came out two times to see if he could fix it.

Outstanding service. The owner responded to my service call to repair my cook top a few days before Christmas. The problem was quickly discovered and he had the parts available in his truck. This enabled him to complete repairs within an hour and a half. No ordering of parts. No additional service calls. Wow!

Robert arrived when promised and thoroughly checked out the washer. He found a couple of minor issues, but no parts failure. Blew out drain line to clear any obstructions and shortened the amount of drain hose going into the drain in the wall (it was excessively long). The problem appears to be resolved. Robert also advised me on a few maintenance tips that should help prevent this in the future. Robert was super friendly and knowledgeable - I really enjoyed talking with him. I've used A-Star in the past for an oven door repair, and had the same excellent experience then also - with Rick, the owner. These guys are skilled, friendly, courteous, and charge very reasonable, fair prices. I highly recommend them and will be calling them for any future repair needs.

We really appreciate that the technician worked "late" on the Thanksgiving eve (Wednesday evening) to make sure our oven was available for Thanksgiving dinner preparation. Here's the story ... our oven control cooling fan began making noise about a week and a half before Thanksgiving. The oven is covered by our home warranty. They sent the work to another company and we wasted a week before getting switched to A-Star Appliance Repair. A-Star came the next day, diagnosed the problem, and order a new fan and motor. The new fan and motor arrived on Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the technician picked up on Wednesday, and made it out a little later than scheduled to install. Removing the oven to install the fan assembly also required removing the microwave. All was done smoothly and professionally. We really appreciate the extra effort and willingness to get us back in business for Thanksgiving. We know the technician had another customer to take care of when he finished our oven, so it wasn't just us who got extra-mile service on the night before Thanksgiving. We recommend A-Star. Our oven is working great and the turkey was delicious. (Note: full cost is not know, since this was covered by home warranty.)

Called with no answer but quickly returned my call. Once I explained the issue Rick responded with he was booked and could not come till Monday and it was Friday. Rick said he was confident by my explanation that it was a relatively simple fix and if I was comfortable he would provide basic steps. This was a repair I could handle as I am a true to definition handy man around the house. I was able to complete the repair myself with no issue and the machine is now working. Now I realize and understand he is trying to make a living for his family and it would not be in is best interest to always do that. But provided our circumstances it was acceptable. I am truly grateful for how Rick decided to treat me and highly respect him and his commitment to customer service. You can rest assured when I have another issue I am calling Rick not expecting a fix over the phone necessarily but to doing business with a company that chooses to operate like a true family operation.

I am very happy that he showed up earlier than estimate. He was very quick on the fix. I would have liked him to tell me how much the repair was going to cost prior to work being done. But the price did seem fair. Just seems a little backward practice.

Robert quickly found the problem, not the washer, but with the electrical outlet. He made sure the washer was operating correctly and recommended contacting an electrician for repairs. Very pleased with the evaluation.

My washer and dryer are no longer making noises and work great.

I was hesitant to call a repairman to service my ten year old refrigerator. I was considering just purchasing a new one since it was so old. I went ahead and submitted a request for service through Angie's List and was immediately contacted by Rick. He was very accommodating and fit me into their schedule for that evening, allowing me to not have to miss work. My repairman was Robert. He was very friendly and professional. He willing answered my technical questions and explained the steps he took to diagnose the problem and the steps necessary to make the repairs. I have had other repair work done over the years but this was by far the best and non-stressful experience I have had. I would definitely hire them again.

Rick came out shortly after I contacted him. He was very professional, kind and honest. He did research on the issue my washer was experiencing and learned there was a recall on my particular unit. He was honest enough to tell me instead of taking for granted my lack of knowledge of appliance repair. He didn't charge me a fee, instead he provided me with instructions on what to do regarding the GE recall process. I would recommend him to anyone. He was very impressive and straightforward. He definitely is the best!

It went great, Rick the owner was very professional and explained what he was doing and answered my questions without making me feel like I was bothering him. I have recommended him to my friends already. Being a woman, I dislike when people try to take advantage of that and Rick was very honest throughout the process.

Well. One appliance was checked and only needed minor repair which was done quickly. Replacement was recommended for second appliance. A part is needed for third appliance, pending. Rick was courteous over the phone and Robert was friendly and efficient. Would definitely hire again.

Fantastic!!!! I had spent an hour or so looking for someone to help me with a particular situation. The answer was "no" to most of the people I called because they only cleaned central air units. I continued searching and finally found the A-Star Appliance Repair company. The rep listened to my problem and said he couldn't guarantee to resolve my issue but would certainly try. He set a date and time, requested all my information. A rep called prior to my appt. time stated he was on his way shortly and arrived promptly. The rep was very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and most importantly very honest and sincere regarding my issue. The window air conditioner was located rather high on the wall of the bedroom. It needed removing and cleaning. After it was removed, the rep was able to see that the air conditioner was infact clean. He then proceeded to transfer the air conditioner to the room I needed it in. Since there was no cleaning done, he didn't charged for the visit nor for any of the information he gave me regarding the condition of the unit. As a satisfied customer, the problem was resolved and great service provided, I will certainly contact this company for my future needs. Thank you.

A-Star called to confirm ahead of the appointment and arrived within the stated time frame. The technician was friendly and polite. He quickly identified the malfunction in my LG front loader and then asked if I was comfortable doing the work myself, because he didn't want to charge any more that was necessary. I really appreciated that. Was I confirmed that I like to save money and do things myself he explained everything that I needed to know to purchase and perform the repair myself. After his thorough explanation I asked how much I owed him for the house call and he told me it was free. Great service.

From the immediate phone call, to hearing no service call charge. We were very impressed. They could have just added freon, but they told us it wouldn't last as the leak is on the inside and couldn't guarantee how long it would last and wouldn't feel right charging us for it. We definitely recommend A-Star Appliance and will use again.

Very good and prompt... When arrived fixed dryer quickly and explained what was going on

The technician was fabulous. He was very courteous, knowledgeable of the problem and had it fixed in about 15 minutes. What I thought was a water pump actually was a clogged filter in the pump. We have used the washer since then and everything has bee operating like new.

Called Rick to have my front load LG washer looked at. Told him I had already taken the part apart that needed to be replaced so I had a good idea of what needed to be done. He told me to just go ahead and buy the part at a local store and replace it myself saving me the labor costs. When a repairman forgoes making a buck because he thinks it would be unethical to charge you for something you can do yourself, you're dealing with a good guy. Will definitely give Rick a call in the future for something I can't fix myself.

Gave Rick a call - he asked me to text him the model/serial info and a photo of the cooktop. He said that would help save him and us both time/money while he checked into availability of parts. Rick asked me a few questions to troubleshoot and suggested that I try doing what we talked about to see if it would fix the cooktop and help us to avoid a repair bill. I have NEVER had a repairman go above and beyond in trying to help me save $ like he did. I greatly appreciate that . If his suggestion doesnt address the problem we will take the next step but we are giving it a try . And will definately call him again if repair is needed - on this appliance or anything else!
