A & H Lawn Service

A&H Lawn Service is a husband and wife team. She does a great job at communicating with you and giving estimates. He brings the crew and does the work. I have three large pecan trees that drop a lot of leaves and 3 big flower beds that were overgrown from the summer. They came and cut everything down as directed and got all the leaves off the ground. It really was a superb job. There was not a leaf to be found. The yard is now ready for spring. I highly recommend them for yard cleaning.

Alex and her team did a wonderful job for an excellent price. She came out, reviewed the job, then sent an estimate. They were on time, professional, and thorough! Not only will I use them again, I will recommend them to everyone I know. Alex herself was amazingly easy to work with, very knowledgeable, and just a great person!

We had employed this service since 2008 and since we were a non-resident owner of the property, we relied heavily on A&H to perform in an acceptable manner based upon the honor system. Periodically, we would visit the property and review the situation with A&H. We would mutually agree as to continuing work to be accomplished and would rely on A&H to honor the commitment. All proceeded reasonably well until recently when we made an unannounced visit to the property during the Labor Day Weekend of 2014. We found that the property was not being kept as agreed upon and that some of the items we had requested and paid for the previous month had not been accomplished. We placed a call to A&H to ask for a meeting while we were visiting the property. We received a call back from A&H indicating they were our of town and could not meet with us. Since we were leaving San Antonio shortly, we indicated that we would communicate with them through a written correspondence as to what our objections were to the condition of the property. We sent the correspondence and enumerated the failures in performance and asked that they be corrected per our mutual agreement. However, we received a call from our tenant at a later date and said that nothing was being done on the property for the last month. We attempted to contact A&H through oral and written communication as to what was being done at the property, however, as of the writing of this report, we have not received any type of response to our requests. Both the tenant and we agree that this type of action by A&H is highly unprofessional and we would not employ them any longer. Our motive in writing this review is to alert others to this unprofessional manner and warn them should they decide to employ A&H Lawn Service for their property.

This is the third or fourth time I have used A & H Lawn Services. Nick is always accommodating to me in that he comes on the day and time I request. He and his worker are always punctual. They get right to work. On two occasions the yard was really over grown as was this last time. He went above and beyond. I am always satisfied with his work. My yard man of over 10 years passed away and it has taken me a while to find somebody I like as well as Nick. I asked him about putting me on a regular schedule but because rain here is very irregular (sometimes we go months without rain and have watering restrictions) he felt it was better that I called him when I needed the work done. He could have said yes and took the money. However, I respected this. I will always call Nick when I need any yard work. I have also told my friends about him as well.

A & H came right out to give me an estimate and were very clear about what they would charge for and why. They showed up early the next morning, mowed and edged my yard and blew and bagged leaves. The best thing they did was to clear out my side yard, which my husband had been using as a sort of brush storage area, with the result that vines and small trees had grown up over the brush and branches stacked there and it was really almost impassable. They completed everything and stacked it all for city brush pick-up (they had actually made a special appointment to get there that morning to be done in time for the pick-up service.) I will definitely use them again.

I have used A & H Lawn Care for a couple years and they have always done great work for me. We moved into a new home and I needed some work done ASAP. The owner, Alex, was more than happy to come by to discuss and provide an estimate. I needed to have an overgrown Texas Mountain Laurel thinned out and the pods removed because it was blocking the view from the front windows and was very heavy. I also had them trim an oak tree that had a lot of dead in the tree and was also very heavy looking down low. They removed several rather large boxwoods (I think there were about 8 of them) that were growing over the walkway that leads from the front to the back yard. I also asked them to remove the existing red mulch in the front yard and replace with a natural brown mulch. We agreed on the price and they came a few days later to do the work. They brought four men and they were on time. They got to work and they were very careful not to disturb my plants in the flower beds where they were removing the mulch. They used their hands to move the red mulch from underneath the plants so to not hurt them with their rakes. They also were very careful not to damage my lights in the trees and in the landscaping when they were doing their trimming. They did an excellent job! The trees they trimmed look great and it was just what I was asking for. The front beds look so much nicer with the natural colored mulch. I love these happy people because they sing as they do their work. It's refreshing to see someone truly enjoy what they do all day long...even in the Texas heat.

the contact was okay. when the company showed up, they brought all their kids and 2 dogs. the kids left with the mom after she got the payment and the dogs stayed with the workers. I think that's what made it unprofessional for me.

Alex and her team initially cleaned our overgrown yard and cut our tress after we had purchased our new house for a very reasonable price (best quote received, with most confidence in service to be provided) and we subsequently hired the crew for a yard clean (lawn etc). In addition, Alex and her crew proactively suggest when it is time to cut the hedges/trees (former about 1 x month; latter 1x quarter) and always at a very reasonable price. We also love that we can pay her by auto-pay/online, rather than spending money on postage etc.

During the first month the lawn service was great. I even wrote a positive review and even went out and gave the crew a $20 tip. During the second month I had to call and complain because crew left piles of leaves without hauling away. Alex sent them back over to finish right away. Then I had to call and complain because crew came on Monday morning when my sprinklers had run all night long after being asked to never come on a Monday morning because that was my day to water my yard. Alex rushed over to get them to stop to come back later in the afternoon. Then I had to call because there were areas of the yard where they weren't blowing or picking up the leaves again. At that time, Alex sent me a text saying that "she tried, but that her crew wasn't trying to do a good job and that I should find another lawn service because I shouldn't have to put up with that." Really??? So when the crew isn't doing what they're supposed to do, she fires the customer instead of getting them to do it correctly?

They were unable to provide services due to scheduling conflicts based on my strict deadline. However, I was not given any false promises and the owner was realistic about her company's inability to meet my deadline.

Perfectly. Alex was great about getting us set up and going for the rest of the mowing season.

Provider called me within 24 hours and came over and gave an estimate the next day. Crew came later in the week and did such a good job that I have set up continued lawn service for every other week for now and probably weekly once the grass starts growing.

Alexa and Hector were quick to respond to my initial message. They came out and gave me a fair quote to pick up a lot of leaves and do some lawn cleanup. A few days later they came on time and began work on one of the coldest mornings in a very long time. I don't know how long it took, but when I got home all the leaves were gone and the yards looked great.

Great service. Tackled a big job that would've taken me a couple days in 1 day. Kept me updated with the progress through out the day. They have a new reoccurring client.

They mowed the lawn, trimmed all my bushes and edged the yard. They did a great job on the lawn and the bushes. The edging could have been better. They charged $350 for the yard and $500 to haul away a large amount of debris the previous owners left at the back of the yard.

Spoke to Alex. She returned within 15 minutes. I needed my lawn mowed by Sunday and I called on Friday. She informed me that her crews were booked until the next week but provided another contact for lawn service. I called the number she provided & was able to get my lawn was mowed that day. It is impressive to find a company willing to help even when not using their direct services. The mow I received was done well, within budget, and arrived on time.
