I would recommend this company to anybody. First Meredith scheduled us on short notice and went above and beyond to have an engineer available for us within 2 days. Then Moises did a super professional job evaluating the house and giving us recommendations on how to take care of possible future issues. It was the the best money I have paid, they saved me $15,000 in foundation work that the house did not need.

I initially contacted A-1 because my wife and I were looking at a home for sale. There was some minor cracks in the kitchen tile and we wanted assurances that there would be no further foundation concerns. My wife was there upon the engineers arival and did the walk through with him. He was pleasant and professional at all times. His name was Diego Gorgazzi. His report was thorough and he was superb at discussing any of our concerns. The detailed report he submitted to me was clear and concise. This supasses my expectations of any structural engineers I have dealt with in the past. Thanks for the great service.

Thomas was right on time and went right to work checking out the entire home for leveling measurements. He was very thorough and professional. He gave a verbal report and will follow up with a written report within 2 weeks. We were concerned that we had a foundation problem as we were seeing some cracks in one room and as we are getting ready to repaint the inside of our home, wanted to make sure all was well before we proceeded. He gave us some recommendations to ensure that we do not have any future foundation issues.

Our appointment with John Marin of A-1 Engineering went very well. He arrived at the appointed time, well prepared & obviously knew his job well. John found that we were not in need of costly foundation repairs. Our foundation problems were being caused by uncontrolled moisture under & around our foundation. He recommended the installation of gutters, diverting rain water away from the foundation by adding top soil next to the foundation & controlling root growth. He has since provided us with a written report, explaining his findings & suggested repairs. We feel that it was 425.00 well spent.

After several days of working around my schedule and rescheduling times to fit my needs John Martin arrived to inspect my single story home. I was worried about the cracks inside and out and if they where the sign my foundation had moved far enough to warrant foundation repair. John came prepared with various equipment and explained what he was going to do. He took photos of all the cracks inside and out. He took about an hour to do the inspection then sat down with me to discuss in general what he saw and what he thought the problem was. The B rating in punctuality is because I was promised a report in 10 work days and I had to call on the 12th workday and ask about it. I received the report the next day via email.

John from A-1 Advance fell like my consultant. He saved me thousand of dollars from work that did not need to be done. Several foundation companies gave me bids from $10,000 thru $30,000 on work I did not need to be completed. John subject that I look in to getting a masonry to assist with repair I need done. The inspection of the foundation went well.

We were concerned about the foundation on our 14 year old house. We bought the house about 6 years ago and have always been concerned because there have been some cracked tiles and a couple of doors will not stay closed/open. Rather than contact a foundation repair company who would have a vested interest in doing repairs, we decided to contact someone who could provide an unbiased inspection. We looked on Angie's List and found A-1 Engineering. Although there were only a few reviews, we liked the the content of the comments and gave them a call. Our appointment was at 11am and John Marin, PE called and said he was running ahead of schedule and could come over sooner. He showed up and began a very thorough inspection of our home. While he did not recommend foundation repair at this time, he did provide recommendations as to what work would prevent any further structural damage in the future. But for now he assured us that our home is structurally sound and that has given us peace of mind. Thank you! A-1 honored the Angie's List coupon of $25, so the total cost was $425.

Timely and professional. This was very important to me because of the holidays. I was in a significant time crunch to provide the necessary information to the City in order to get my building permit issued for a residential remodel. Moises and Amy went out of their way to make this happen.

Hired an engineering firm to assess the foundation of the home before I repaired/replaced the roof. The young man, Mr. Hall, was punctual, professional, and explained his findings in detail. As I suspected, the home would need foundation repair before the roofing problem could be addressed. Subsequently a written report was submitted that I was able to present to the foundation repair firms. I would recommend this firm or use them again if the need arises.

First of all anyone who thinks they have structural issues should get a professional engineering opinion. A1 engineering is not affliated with anyone so they are open and honest. I wish I would have had them out before I had some work done years ago. I was extremely impressed with them and Kirk was able to answer all my questions. I came to find out my house is safe and the cracks are due to normal settling and he gave me a couple options. He also was working around 4 kids and it did not seem to bother him at all. I would completely recommend A1 Engineering.

He was very professional. He took the measurements like everybody else. He tried to educate me a little bit as well. It wasn’t just that he gave information; he took it back and analyzed it. He took it to an actual engineer and then he mailed me the information. It was a certified report from an engineer. He basically told the same thing that the other company has said. It doesn’t need to be fixed and then he gave me other information on how to prevent further damage.

The engineer, Moises Cruz, did a complete visual assessment of our pier-and-bean foundation. He crawled under the house and checked out each pier, the soil beneath the house, and did a visual check on the interior and exterior of the house. His analysis was invaluable to us, as at least one foundation company claimed we needed over $12,000 worth of work. Mr. Cruz pointed out a few issues that will be substantially cheaper to resolve and will have a far greater impact on the overall stability of our property. He was very professional, friendly, and competent. If anyone suspects that they may have foundation problems, I would highly recommend calling A-1 to get an honest assessment from a neutral third-party, rather than a foundation repair company.

Did what they promised to do. Gave me a report I can use when I sell my house.

It was easy to schedule our service. Adequate information was provided for us to choose the service we needed. The engineer arrived promptly and professionally completed the evaluation. We received the final report via email. Within the promised timeframe. Incidentally when we sold our house a year later, the buyers contracted with a different firm to evaluate our foundation. The measurements were within 1/4 inch of the measurements from A-1.

Mr. Cruz was able to determine reasons behind movement of floors, walls, and door jams through the house. Based on his inspection of pier and beam foundation and soil conditions under our home, he proposed repair agenda for various foundation-connected issues. Mr. Cruz was exceptional at explaining repair options and cautions.

I find them to be very professional. I was very happy with them. One of their guys is good. He was very helpful to me. Myra is the office person and she’s very good and very helpful. She is attentive and she followed up very well.

Moises Cruz arrived on time and was very professional. He was able to explain to us what was needed to handle the issues we face at our home. We look forward to a continued relationship with him, and would refer anyone in need of a structural engineer to A-1 Engineering.
