The technician was unable to determine what had caused the problem or what the control panel for the secuirty system was telling me. I got the impression he didn't believe me when I told him about the error reading. I called a competitor who came to the house and determined that the error reading was real and that it could be controlled by entering my password twice if the error occurred again.
Description of Work: Checked security to determine why it had not worked properly.

I had Kay Gee security install the alarm system in June of 1991 and purchased monitoring from the company at that time as well. I have been with Kay Gee since that time and their monitoring fees have never increased. The fees are among the lowest in town for monitoring. They are locally owned so if you have an issue, you can speak to the owner directly. I have not had problems with the system other than the battery going out every few years which is to be expected. I get the batteries directly from Kay Gee and the price is comparable to other batteries of this type.

Basically all that I said above. This man tried to pull a fast one all the time. He said it was just business. I told him he couldn't get away with this any more. He couldn't even remember that he talked to me 2 days before. He would call me and forget he had just talked to me and what he told me. He told me there would not be a moving fee for the move of the system then he charged me $244.00. He told me there would not be an installation charge then tried to charge me $300.00. Then to try to make me pay almost $100.00 for 2 seconds and 2 guys (how many security guys does it take to change a battery?) to change out 4 AA Energizer batteries (and I have pictures of the batteries in the panel which I can easily pull and change batteries if I had been told that was what was needed) was the last straw. I could not take any more of it. His guys were nice and they didn't really do anything but I did not employ them, he did. When they wouldn't show up for weeks and once for a month, they always apologized but it was not enough any more. I figured the equipment must belong to me since I paid so much for it and all the other security companies charge $99 install and $35 per month but you are buying the system, then I should own at least two systems by now. He told me to have the company that pulled his system out to call him and he would come get it. Hah! Like that is going to happen. And like I am going to do what this man tells me to do. Go jump in the lake bud. Not gonna happen.
Description of Work: I had this company install a simple security alarm system in our rented home the year before last in Sept. 2009. Then they moved the system when we bought our new home in Sept 2010. They charged us $300 to install the first time then $41.03 per month total. They charged us $244.00 to move the system. We do not have a contract. I have never been informed before hand how much if anything I was to pay until after the fact. I kept telling the owner, Roy Massingale that I do not appreciate being told after the fact that I owe something. I want to be told in advance what the cost is going to be,. He always said I will tell you if you owe anything. Then he didn't every time and I had a big surprise every time. The first charge to install, I called and told them to come get it because he did not tell me that was the amount, he had told me it was half that amount. He changed his bill to half and I paid it. Then to move, I complained again but I paid it. I have had to wait sometimes one week, then two weeks and even a month for someone to come out when I called about a problem once. We left to go out of town with them knowing we had a service problem and they never came out until we came back after 2 weeks. We were worried the entire time about someone breaking in and the fact we might not have any kind of security. The guys would always apologize but that did not fix it. They never charged for a service call because it was nothing much to fix. Then last Monday, after I had called their office about a problem for 2 weeks and no one ever came out, 2 guys showed up, took about 2 seconds, changed out 4 AA Energizer batteries in the panel and left. All together they were in my house maybe 2 minutes if that. One day later, I get a bill for $91.97. It was for 4 Lithium batteries at $20 plus tax and $65 labor plus tax. They did not put in Lithium batteries. They put in AA Energizer batteries that i could have put in myself if they had just told me what to do. I have plenty of AA Energizer batteries. When I complained about this bill, Roy Massingale told me he would take the system out and they didn't want to do business with me any more and he would tell everyone it was because I had an open invoice. I was so mad. He was going to say I did not pay my bills instead of the fact he never provided any servcie then wanted to charge me to fix his equipment. I paid every month on auto pay so he never had to wait for his money. I did not have to do that. No contract at all. No agreement. He just wanted me to pay for nothing and he tried to pull it off one too many times and I got mad. He did this too many times.
