Derek Mitchell was a real estate agent with Noble Realty and has since moved to another agency, PREMIER REAL ESTATE AGENCY IN SAN ANGELO, TEXAS. This guy will leave you high and dry. All he wants to do is get paid and move on. He does not care about you as a person. Trust me find a different agent and DO NOT USE JIM SLAUGHTER.
Description of Work: . Several months ago I began to seek out an investment property in San Angelo, Texas. After weeks of searching I found a home (502 E 26th St. San Angelo, TX 76903) which I noticed to be in relatively great condition. I began to work with a realtor, Derek Mitchell #578850, who currently works with the Premier Group in San Angelo, Texas. During the transaction Derek was working with Noble Realty in San Angelo. The seller’s realtor, Jim Slaughter #0471902, represented a Paul Jansen in San Angelo. After negotiating a contract I entered in escrow and began the process of searching for an inspector. Derek Mitchell stated, “I know someone who can inspect the house.” Derek then ordered the inspection which was subsequently done a week or so later. The inspection came back with minimal information and only relayed a possible problem with the roof. No other significant problems were stated on the report. I asked Mr. Jansen to replace the roof and after negotiations the roof was fixed. Now, during this time I never did a walkthrough of the home because I relied on the home inspection and disclosure from the seller. My current activation at Davis Monthan AFB, Arizona and my previous history of buying homes led me to believe that home inspectors and a disclosure would provide adequate information to the home’s condition. The seller’s disclosure did not relay anything wrong with the house. Everything on the home was marked NO on the seller’s disclosure. After a month or two I then requested to be pulled out of the contract and was told that there may be “legal action” by both Derek and the seller’s realtor, Jim Slaughter. These scare tactics made me then get back into the contract and go ahead and close on the home. Prior to closing on the home I told Derek to take pictures of the house so I could see an up close condition of the property. He sent me general pictures of the home but they did not show anything significant on them. Several weeks later we closed and the transaction was complete. The transaction was completely fraudulent. Everyone, except me, knew the condition of the home and the amount of money required to fix it. Several weeks later I travelled to San Angelo with my father, Herve J. St. Pierre, to inspect the property and do some upgrades. To my surprise I noticed countless significant problems, obvious to the human eye, with the home and noticed that the home had the following conditions: Unlevel floors Windows that did not close properly Rotted wood A garage which leaned due to structural problems Dirty and unusable rug flooring Laminated flooring in the kitchen and bathroom which pulled up off the floor Kitchen cabinets that did not close properly A kitchen stove that was missing knobs and not working properly Dead trees in the yard Obvious crack in front porch (2in wide) Front and side doors that do not latch properly Screen doors broken beyond their use Considerable landscaping required B
