The project started at about 9AM March 16th, 2011. They came, I paid them the $500 that they estimated in full up front (my first mistake, other than hiring this company to do the work). They told me they would be there all day and would have the project finished by 6PM that evening. I left to go to work and left things in their hands with the expectation of everything being done when I got off work and that they would be there to test the sprinklers and get everything setup to water the new landscaping on my sprinkler system. I showed up about noon for lunch and nobody was around, and only about 2 of the 20 sprinkler heads had been dug up and there was no new dirt and they had dug out around the break in the sprinkler system but it wasn't repaired yet. I figured they were at lunch and would be hard at it that afternoon. I came home from work at about 5PM that evening and there was some dirt hauled in and about 3 sprinkler heads had been replaced out of the 20 that I could see and they were working on the break in the sprinkler system in the back. They rang the door bell about 6 and apoligized that they weren't finished and that they would be there first thing in the morning and would be done by the end of the day on the 17th. No big deal, I didn't have a problem with that. They didn't show up till about noon the following day and they hauled in a little more dirt on the 17th and replaced about 5 sprinkler heads in the side and back yards. They finished repairing the break in the system on thursday and said it would take about 24 hours before they could test it so that the cement for the PVC could set. Again, the yard was not even close to being finished by the end of the day Thursday. Friday they hauled in a little more dirt and the backyard was still not level and there were about 10-12 sprinkler heads that still needed to be replaced and raised up, and they hadn't even started leveling the front and side yards. They didn't replace any sprinkler heads on friday, all they did was haul in dirt. They didn't bother calling me or coming to the door friday to tell me what was going on. Over the weekend I received an email from them stating that the job was more extensive than they had originally estimated and that they needed to haul in twice as much dirt as they originally estimated and that they would need more money for the dirt, labor, and extra sprinkler heads because none of my old ones could be used. I expressed that I was disappointed in the original time and cost estimate but told them that it would be fine I just wanted to hurry and get it done so that I could get a nice new lawn grown by summer so I could put the house up for sale. They came monday and said that they were sorry and wouldn't charge me for the extra dirt/labor, just for the sprinkler heads themselves. I said that would be great and I appreciated that. By the end of Monday the 21st they said they were finished, the back yard was level and all the sprinkler heads were replaced. They said that we needed to wait until the cold front passed to plant the seed because it wouldn't germinate as cold as it was. I went out to look at the work on Tuesday and I still had about 8 old sprinkler heads that I could see and the rest were new, the front lawn was not level at all and the side lawn was far from level. I called them to ask about it, left a voicemail, no response ever came from this voicemail. The cold front passed by Thursday the 24th and it was in the 80's. I called them to see when they would come fertilize, plant the seed, finish replacing sprinkler heads, and level the front/side, again left a voicemail. No response, I called again friday, left a voicemail, no response. On Tuesday the 29th at about 7pm I received a voicemail from Bill telling me that the lawn had been fertilized and seeded and that the project was finished. I called him to ask about the sprinkler heads and the unlevel front/side lawns and had to leave a voicemail once again, no response. There was still a sprinkler head in the front lawn next to the walk way that they had replaced that had no dirt filled in around it and could easily be stepped on and broken. I went the next few days calling him and leaving voicemails and never getting a response. I called the following week 3 different times and still never got a response to any voicemails. Finally on Saturday April the 9th I decided to just water the lawn so that they seeds would start growing. I turned on all the zones and started walking around to make sure everything was working and to my surprise I had 6 different sprinkler heads that were still buried and would not come up, 4 sprinkler heads that were new and wouldn't come up, 4 more sprinkler heads that were aimed improperly, and 2 sprinkler heads in the back yard that had been replaced were 360 degree sprinkler heads but needed to be 180 degree heads because they sit right next to my fence. I called them and left a voicemail and sent a very displeased email telling them that I needed some one to call me back immediately to fix this and that I was tired of being ignored. I got no response to either voicemail or email on monday, so I called them tuesday April 12th and still no response, straight to voicemail. I called them from my girlfriends phone a few hours later and like magic, Bill answers the phone "Angelo Lawn & Landscape". He says that he will come out immediately, never saw him that day. I called him again Wednesday and he said he would come out in a few hours, FINALLY one of his guys comes out and replaces 3 sprinkler heads that wouldn't come up in the front lawn, and they dig up 4 other sprinkler heads but just leave them out of the whole. They didn't come back thursday, or friday. It is now April the 17th, exactly 1 month since the initial project started that was originally supposed to take 1 day. I am going to stay on them and try to get them to finish this project but I'm sure it will take numerous phone calls and a lot of running around but hopefully they will EVENTUALLY make good on their work. This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered. If you ever have to use somebody for sprinkler repair or landscaping, do not use Angelo Lawn & Landscape. If you do, DO NOT pay them up front, give them a deposit for the work or post date the check for atleast a week, cancel the check and reissue another one if the week goes by and they are still not finished. Maybe they will be a little better about punctuality and their quality of work. They never tested the sprinkler system after they told me it was good to go, they never asked me if I was happy with the leveling work they did in the front/side, and they never went over what they did after they were supposedly finished. He promised numerous times to do all this but never did it. The lack of communication is what irritates me the most about this whole transaction. DO NOT USE THEM, you will regret it. Pay the money for someone more reputable.
Description of Work: I called Angelo Lawn & Landscaping to come fix a pipe break in my sprinkler system, replace and raise up the sprinkler heads, haul in dirt, level out the lawn with the new dirt, plant new grass seed, fertilize the lawn to take the new seed, and redo a small front flower bed with new flowers and mulch.
