Alternative Design

We asked for a quote and were given a quote of $2000 to redo our bathroom. We agreed to their quote and outlined the details of the work to be performed. We negotiated to pay 3/4 at the beginning and 1/4 at the end. The contractor agreed to have the work completed within 10 days. The contractor completed the deomolition and immediatly started asking for final payment. Then they told us that since we went cheap we'd have to provide some of the materials. After the majority of the work was complete they said they needed final payment and claimed they wouldn't be able to complete the work unless we paid them even though they originally agreed to accept payment at the end. So we paid them the same day they requested it. The work was supposed to be completed the same day we made the final payment. That was a mistake on our part. Our $2000 bathroom remodel that was supposed to be completed in 10 days ended up costing us over $2600 and is still not complete after 30 days. Bottom line: Contractor did not complete the job on time, the contractor did not stick to the original quote and demanded that we pay for supplies and finally the finishing work was not done and we had to hire someone else to fix their incomplete tasks at an extra cost to us of $200.
