Maldonado did not complete the job he was hired and paid to do. The workmanship was questionable as well. Concho Valley Foundation Repair recommended AJM Construction to prepare our home for foundation leveling. The AJM crew began work on the home in June and appeared to work hard and did the job well. We came into an agreement with Mr. Maldonado to continue working on the house; contracting to complete remodeling work to the kitchen and living areas to be completed by the holidays. As work continued, we entered into a contract for AJM to remodel two bathrooms in the home as well as leveling the upstairs floor and remodel an upstairs front bedroom. As the job got more involved, Mr. Maldonado was clearly not capable of finishing the job. He and his crew had to redo multiple portions of the job because it was done incorrectly (via the city inspector and things we noticed). We spoke to Mr. Maldonado on numerous occasions about the faulty work being done and that every time he did something incorrectly and had to redo the job (sometimes 2-3 times) it was costing more and more money and we were very much over budget. As the job continued, well over budget and time, the crew dwindled down to one or two men and they were not showing up consistently. Also, when they did show up, they spent a great deal of time on breaks. Mr. Maldonado would drop off his crew, leave to go to other jobs and the guys would not work while he was away. We brought this to his attention and he seemed to have dealt with the situation. Mr. Maldonado and one of his crew (a man named Matt, aka Red) began working on the house. During the holidays, we began to see less and less of the men. There were times when we wouldn't see them for days or even a week at a time, with Mr. Maldonado saying he was waiting on the city inspector. We were living in a rental house during this time, and after Christmas, one of AJM's workers showed up at our house asking for money. He had not been paid since November, and Mr. Maldonado had told his guys they were not getting paid, because Mr. ********* was refusing to pay him (Maldonado). We have proof that we in fact did pay Mr. Maldonado and told the man he would have to take it up with his former employer. We spoke to Maldonado about the visit and he said he took care of it. Soon after, in January, Maldonado stopped showing up to work at the house. We have been left with no walls, plywood floors, no electricity, and no plumbing. Maldonado took our life savings and almost ruined our house. It is unlivable and our family of four now share a one bedroom apartment with our parents.

It was awful. He continued to upsell and I ended up paying 7100 for a 1400 bid. The finished paint job is not complete and they did not scrape except in the front of the house. The windows are installed improperly and have 1 inch gaps in between them. The sheetrock work he did when replacing three windows in crumbling and falling off. Two windows have gouges in the siding above them. I expressed my displeasure with his work on the 18th and he offered a refund. When he came to offer the refund, he wanted me to sign a statement that was not true and offered $41. I refused, he offered $250. I refused, he offered $400. I am contacting an attorney to receive my refund and will now have to have all work repaired.
