Bowman Electrical Services

This is my third time using Bowman electric. They are professional, experienced and very fair. They give honest opinions and real options for solutions to my problems. One thing I like a lot of that they actually listen to what you want. They don't use some tricky discount to try to sell you services you don't need and didn't ask for. The staff are just regular people, very knowledgeable, friendly and fast. They get the job done. They troubleshot problems in the house wiring, fixed doorbell wiring, installed a doorbell security device, security lights and replaced the old unsafe wiring in the garage so it isn't a fire hazard. Will stay my go to service for all electrical work.

Micheal came over when he said he would and we walked through what I wanted done. He suggested a few changes to my ideas and worked up an estimate. The estimate was reasonable and he came out the next week. The job was done well and the site was clean when he left. I will need more work done in the future and he will be the one I call when that time comes.

Whoever had wired the kitchen in our 1955 home when it was remodeled in 2014-2015 had not added a single circuit to the existing house total of 12. Therefore, every appliance in the kitchen was wired into or plugged into an outlet on the same circuit. Mr. Bowman had already explained to us on a previous job that the average new home has at least 24 circuits, and our 1950s-era wiring couldn't handle the load of all these modern appliances. The garage had no electrical outlets at all, so Mr. Bowman added those at the same that he added the circuits to the kitchen. The panel which he added to the garage has extra space for more circuits if we need to expand them in the future. This was a long, hot, all day job, and we are very grateful that it was done quickly and professionally. We feel much better knowing that our home wiring is no longer a fire hazard or likely to be overloaded and throw circuits any time soon.

We initially hired Mr. Bowman to do an assessment of the electrical system of the house after a pre-sale home inspection raised questions about the system. We were impressed with his depth of knowledge, and hired him to fix what he deemed the most pressing problems right away. The work was done on two separate dates because of the amount of time required. Our new home, unfortunately, has never had its electrical circuitry updated to handle modern appliance loads, and whoever did the electrical work for the contractors who renovated it just before we bought it was not a trained electrician (in Mr. Bowman's assessment). Mr. Bowman and his assistant were careful and very clean about their work, sweeping up sheetrock crumbles and sawdust as they went. When he discovered that all the kitchen appliances were on one 15-amp circuit, Mr. Bowman replaced it with a 20-amp one. It is still not sufficient for the load of a refrigerator, disposal, dishwasher, stovetop/oven, and microwave oven, so we plan to have him return and add circuits to the homes' existing 12 in order to bring the house more in line with the current standard of 20 to 25 circuits.

Michael and his helpers rewired our kitchen for a remodel. Michael is a great guy, very thorough, attentive, and punctual. He was slightly cheaper than another quote we received, but we mostly chose him because of his friendly and professional attitude. He did a great job as promised and on time, and we could not be happier. We will hire him again for our next electrical needs.

The lights were flickering in the house. I called and Mr Bowman came out within a few hours. He checked the panel and all the circuits and found the problem was in the lines coming from the power pole. He contacted the local power company GVEC and had them come out the same day to repair the wires. Mr Bowman was prompt courteous and thorough, I am happy I found a small locally owned business that really cares about the service they provide!

After a minor clerical error, Mr. Bowman arrived on time the day of the scheduled appointment. He was well organized and seemed very knowledgeable. He was un-rushed and very thorough. He had the proper tools and equipment needed. He was able to explain things so an ordinary person like myself could understand them. He was able to quickly isolate the malfunctioning GFCI outlet and upon inspection, noticed the outlet was wired incorrectly by the person who originally installed the outlet. He was able to re-wire the outlet correctly and I have not had a problem with that outlet since. I will definitely be using Bowman Electrical again, and will gladly refer friends and family as well. A top notch company with outstanding customer service.

They did an excellent job. When I contacted them, they came on time. They solved the problem immediately. They did a good job. The price was reasonable. They owner of the company came out and the interaction was very good. He was very personable and very knowledgeable at what he did. He solved the problem and corrected it.

Mr. Bowman was pleasant to speak to on the phone. He was on time for the appointment. He brought all materials, was quick, and cleaned up the site when finished.

I would turn on TV and it come on for minute and then shutoff with the power light blinking on and off. Turning on the TV also made my laptop start a series of loud beeps and the screen would dim and brighten every second or so. I looked the laptop problem up and it referenced beeping when power mode switched from plugged into outlet to battery suddenly. Lights in both rooms seemed okay. In the kitchen I tried using microwave and it would power on for a second and shut off and the internal light would blink on and off. I checked and reset all the breakers on the house panel, and everything acted the same. I checked and reset all the breakers on the outside panel and still no change. Previous to the thunderstorms there hadn't been any problems. I subscribed to Angie`s list to help find a reliable electrician. I checked a number of electricians reviews. I always read the bad reviews to see what problems other have had, and found a number of reviews not to my liking. Providers more interested in trying to sell extra services instead of doing the work requested. And pulling out high tech gadgets instead having real experience and knowledge. I also shy away from coupons and and quot; deals and quot; because they have to try and make-up the discount buy selling you extras you didn't want or ask for. I chose Bowman initially because the one bad review I read he answered reasonably, he owns his own business (not a sub contractor working on commission ), and he called me after he finished his current work. I don't like companies the make promises to send someone and then keep you waiting all day. Mr Bowman called me back, arranged a time and was on time. He introduced his apprentice and himself, and listened to my explanation of the problem, I demonstrated the TV and microwave problems. He listened to everything and went to work troubleshooting. He and his apprentice were polite, courteous and answered any questions I asked. They didn't pull a lot high tech fancy gadgets to try and impress me. He opened the house panel, checked breakers, tighhtened things, checked for discoloration and explained what he was doing the entire time. Not finding a problem with the house panel, he checked the outside panel and found a problem with the voltage, and using the microwave to put a load on it, he showed how the voltage would drop when his assistant would turn on the microwave. He examined the outside panel and didn't find anything that would cause it. He checked the CPS box and found the voltage drop there. He said CPS would need to fix it. He called CPS and put in request for service. He then said with the low voltage I should turn of most things electronic since low voltage was not good. Lights were okay. Throughout the entire visit they were polite, informative and efficient in diagnosing the problem. CPS came out within an hour I relayed what Mr. Bowman had said and the CPS technician confirmed the diagnosis and arranged the initial repair fix. All in all it was the kind of service that gives me the confidence to recommend Bowman to anyone needing a good, honest reliable electrician. If there is any problem is that good, reliable electricians and other repair technicians are usually busy. But for electrical service without a sales pitch or a lot of fancy gadgets, just good honest experience and know how I recommend Bowman Electrical.

Michael Bowman was an expert Master Electrician and professional... now a friend! Will always receive first opportunity to do our electrical work. Good fair price. Quick. Self-starter. Polite. NO complaints.

Received a return call from Mike Bowman. I explained the project and said I needed an estimate and asked if they could provide this. He replied with they are and quot;real busyand quot; and then asked if I was in LaVernia. When I said I was in San Antonio he said that they are and quot;real busyand quot;. He then asked if I had done business with them in the past and I said that I could not recall. Next there was dead silence on the phone. After a few seconds when I concluded that he was not going to say anything more I said good bye and replied good bye. No offer to do business in the future was made- Why is this business on Angie's list if they are not interested in obtaining any business?

(sorry, but I do not remember the dates or the fee, I just put in #'s; but will say the fee was more than reasonable!)Fixed one outlet that kept and quot;surgingand quot;, which I was told by 2 other business it would be costly and wires were crossed in the feed lines to it. Not the case at all! He had it fixed in no time! Mr. Bowman is an honest, very professional and just a great person. He also did work at my parents home, did fantastic work there also! At both homes we have more work that is need to be done and he will be our man! I highly recommend Bowman Electric.

We found Bowman Electric on Angie's List to get a second opinion. We were having trouble with our power in the garage going off and were told by another company that we had to replace our main box on the house for approx. $800 to $1000 + . Mike Bowman looked at our situation and quickly saw that was NOT necessary, that we just needed to replace a bad breaker switch in our garage box. I don't remember the exact cost but it was around $100! Can't say enough good things about Mike Bowman! He was professional, knowledgable, fast, and more than fair in what he charged us.

They were awesome. The cost was by the job. The price was real reasonable. My husband told that it was fabulous. They were polite, they were on time and they cleaned up after themselves. They were efficient. They were in, they were out and then they were done. I priced around before I had them come and everybody else was surprised.

My experience with him turned out fine. I was pleased. He came when he said he would. He did what I asked him to do, and he seemed to do a good job. His price seemed fair.

This company is always quick to call back and makes every effort to set up the service ASAP. Always very professional. This is the second time I used this company and have been very please both times. Fees are very appropriate.

I have really been pleased with his work. He was available to come the next day when I was in an emergency and take care of it for me. He was friendly and very professional. He knew what he was doing and I just liked the way he approached the job. I liked his price. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

Very smoothly. He coordinated directly with the garage door company so that all the work could happen smoothly in one day. He explained what he had done and called the garage door company to tell them his work was completed. He informed me about some safety issues in my attick and corrected them. He gave me a suggested to read about something on the internet, as well as explaining it to me.

I was very impressed with this company! I was given a verbal quote on the phone and a day and time. All went according to that initial conversation. I will use them again and I highly recommend them!

I have used Bowman Electric several times in the past and Mr. Bowman always arrives on time and does quality work. Mr. Bowman is very friendly and professional and takes the time to discuss the work he completes and answers any questions you may have throughout the process. Bowman Electric will take their time and do the job right, which is the main reason I will continue to use their services.

On May 13, 2011 we hired Bowman Electrical to connect the electricity from our barn to the electric pole on our property. The technician was very professional and courteous. He did a very good job and the price was fair. After that visit we had purchased a garbage disposal for the home and needed the electricity hooked up to it. We called Bowman again and on May 17th, the job was done promptly and professionally with a great price. We will definitely be using them again if needed.
