Every home comes with a few hiccups, however we own several and this one is a nightmare. We hired an inspector to help expidite the builders response to our complaints. They were immediately defensive even without going out first to address the bigger issues. After going out and having the issues pointed out, they were still difficult to work with as they did not feel that anything was wrong with the quality of their work. Since the warranty has expired, we have had to spend several thousand dollars to repair electrical issues and construction issues due to poor construction quality. This house was NEW while this was going on. The tenant was the first person who had ever lived there. This is not normal. Overall, i give them an F and I would not recommend anyone buy a home that was built by this company. Even my realtor, who talked me into buying this house, has gotten into the habit of asking who the builder is before she recommends that a client buy a house. She was well aware of all of the problems we were having. My only intention is to warn others, I truly wish I would have known this prior to buying this home. If ever there were a buyer beware, this is it.
Description of Work: This is in regards to the quality of a home built. The home was purchased in 2007 and within one year we had several warranty issues. Just a few issues: there was a leak behind the wall of the laundry area, the garage door was not working properly, there were electrical issues and the grading in the back yard was off and water was draining towards the house. Even with an inspector's report, one that I hired with my own money, they staunchly refused to beleive that it was their problem. They kept blaming it on a new fence that was built. But even the inspector said it was not the fence, it was the grading. We went back and forth on that until they finally fixed it. The inspectors report also pointed out other smaller issues that they repaired but again with much disgruntlement. I have dealt with this before with other builders and that is why i gave them in my opinion an honest F. Communication was difficult because I would talk to the builder's secretary and then she or her workers would tell me they could not get hold of my tenant. But when I would speak to the tenant he would say no one called him. His wife did not work and there was always someone home so it should not have been an issue. Claymark would insist that I go to the house myself but I was not in Texas. Besides the tenant I had a realtor who would stand in for me. And once I had one of my handymen go out there to meet with them because they were defensive, saying my realtor and tenant didn't know what they were saying. The only reason they wanted me there was to try to convince me that everything was ok on their end. Their denial that they were in the wrong was never ending. At this point, had I gone out there they would have just said i too had no idea what i was saying so my presence was not necessary. Once the workers would show up they were diffficult and defensive, it didn't matter who met them. I had to call again regarding the grading but after dealing with them I got so annoyed that i just dropped it and paid someone else to do it properly. They are obviously not concerned about their reputation or integrity of the quality of their work. Since then I have had other construction and electrical issues that have cropped up and it seems never ending. I even had a 2nd inspection on the house about 8 months ago, after the most recent electrical issues came up, just to make sure that the house would not burn down. This is the first site I've been able to submit a complaint to in order to warn others about this company. I have copies of email communications with the company as well as copies of the inspection reports and emails with the inspector each time they would balk at his findings.
