it went terrible. we had a contract, then there were other items that needed to be added. not once did they say that ther were things on the contract that would have to be removed. they asked for more money even though they still had plenty, and when i didnt give it to them or there was a delay in money, they pulled everyone from the job. to this date they still have not provided me with reciepts. they paid them selves over 9500 dollars and did not pay their subs. they asked for more money to do things that should have already been done and when they could not justify the extra money i had to let them go... they still have not paid their subs and and trying to say i owe them even more as well. also the work they did was sub par, the flooring is uneven and has bumps in it. the walls they left untaped and no texture, the floors were not even finished. i have a lot more details and several emails showing i questioned where the money was going... but i was afraid of them holding my house hostage again. this was supposed to be my dream house... they have made it a nightmare... the contractor stated they were 8 hours away from finishing their work. i have had to hire other people to do the work on some items, there was about a total of 5 days worth of work left. the work texas choice is stating 8 hours was just one part of the contract. there was not a SINGLE thing they completed and 8 hours would not have finished anything at all. in fact just in administration fees and fees they collected they took in their pocket over 9500 dollars, not to mention the check they wrote the plumber, that they later told them not to cash. so basically 10500 bucks yet they did not have money for gas to get out to my house to work. be warned if you use them they will come off as the nicest couple and willing to work, but the first chance they get they will find a way to take your money and milk you for more. DO NOT USE THEM>
Description of Work: the provider was supposed to do a lot of construction for a house i was buying

Response from Texas Choice Builders & Remodelers, LLC
On September 05, 2014, you provided the following information: the member called Texas Choice Builders and Remodelers, llc to work with a budget set by another contractor for his home renovation. We agreed to do the project based on budget. We told him we will be able to work with him as long as he understood we would prioritize the work with the limit of $35,000.00 (set budget). He was suppose to demo everything first in order for us to come into the property and put everything back together. During the demo, he tore out the lower cabinets because they were rotten. We agreed they needed to be added to the budget as a high priority. Then he took up the carpet. He let us know he wanted us to replace the subfloor and then place hardwood laminate all over the home. We agreed it would be a high priority for the budget. The electrical was brought up to fire safety codes and the plumbing was replaced because of the drains draining water underneath the home from the showers. The electricians and the plumbers took money down and agreed to wait until the end of the project to get the rest of the funds earned per the member. The bank has the rest of the money to finish the project. We had spoken to Gateway Mortgage, Robin Garcia, about the money and she rejected the money because the member had complained he did not see where the money was going. He had nothing to compare that too. He had no idea what the costs of labor and materials were because all he asked about was how much the kitchen was gonna cost. I gave him this information. the member has mislead the bank and the BBB by saying nothing has been finished. The subfloor is completed and the plumbing fixtures are in, the cabinets are in, the appliances are in, the floors are finished, the electrical is finished, and the water heater is in and the kitchen sink and lighting is in. There are other items inside the walls and floors which he never mentioned because he was not there to witness all of it going in. The electricians, plumbers, subs, and the owner of the Texas Choice knows what was done there because they worked every week day and some worked on the weekends to get things put back together after the demo. The floor was rotten and had to be replaced. This house was uninhabitable. Now it would have been finished per our agreement within 8 hours if he would have let us finish. He let us go because he became emotional about the project. He was mad because he did not see the wood left for the outside decking and us out there working one day. We had to take the lumber for the outside deck back because the money needed to be spent on the rest of the inside to have the plumbers come finish the next day. He agreed to this 1 day before we returned the merchandise. We did not threaten him. The electrician and the plumbers will place a lien on his home because he has refused to pay them the rest of their money. He still owes us for work but he has said he will not be paying us. He has also told us that we should not have gotten paid for any of the work we did. He forgets we are the ones who was demoing the subfloor and putting it back together so he could walk on it. It is not fair for him to say we do not deserve to get paid for work we have done. We did the work, we deserve to get paid for it. We would like for him to pay the subs like he promised, and pay us like he promised. We would like for him to admit he agreed to pay for this project to get things done by priority based on the $35,000.00. He still owes us 13,000.00. That will pay for the rest of the electrician, plumber, and our fee for administration for this confusion and work performed on the project. The money for the paint was taken out of the project money. It is sitting in his home. It is the exterior paint.
