Mizell's Tree Service

This company doesn't want your business. If they did that would answer their phone and return your call. The website says their hours are Mon. - Thu 8 to 5 and Fri 8 - 12. First I called at 9am in a Monday (well within those times), The answering machine asked that i leave a message since I called outside of their posted time. I left my name and phone before my request and left them again before ending the call. More than a week later I haven't yet received that call. Not that it matters now. I wouldn't hire these for anything now. Save your time and call someone else. I suggest Aaron's Tress Service.

I've used David Mizell for tree trimming services before and he and his crew have always performed with excellence and honesty! This time was a bit different, because the December, 2012 ice storms caused several branches to break off of multiple trees, some of which didn't even fall - they were caught up in the higher areas of some live oaks. David and his crew cut the broken limbs free, then cut back adjacent branches so the tree didn't look "spikey" and unbalanced. They also thinned out smaller branches so air could circulate more freely through the branches, especially the live oaks and wax myrtles. This company earlier had saved my wife's favorite tree - a magnolia - that was stressed and possibly on death row during the drought and heat of the summer last year - he injected the tree with some formula that gave it new life. David is extremely busy - in high demand, so you have to be patient. He does not hire extra, untrained people - he and his one crew do all the work with great knowledge and attention to detail. They even disinfect their equipment between jobs, so diseases from one property are not transferred to another property - that alone makes him worth every dollar in my book! We wound up with a huge pile of limbs, which many companies would have left curbside for the city to pick up, but Mizell chips everything down and hauls it off. Since Garland is still picking stuff up a month later, and has not yet hit our area, I am the only guy on the street with a clean curb! All in all, every time I have used him, David Mizell has shown a great depth of knowledge (he is a degreed and certified arborist) and has done an excellent job, and left our yard meticulously clean - even raking up leaves in addition to the branches. If you value your trees as much as I do, he is the man to watch over them, keep them trimmed, and deal with problems that can arise in these years of drought. He's not the cheapest guy around but he is worth every penny in my opinion.

I think they are very professional, thorough in there inspection and treatment, And David the owner takes as much time answering your questions as necessary even if they are not directed toward the project his is performing.

I was very pleased with the work performed by David Mizell and his crew. David was very understanding of my concerns with saving a large Red Oak Tree in our front yard. He took the time to explain my options with no sales pressure. David is very knowledgable and is a certified Arborist. All of his tools are sterilzied before and after each trim. The work was performed as promised and no debris was left behind. I plan to have Mizell Tree Service continue with all future treatments and trimming of our trees.

Mizell's does an excellent job pruning trees. Our trees look great! And, they did a wonderful job cleaning up the yard after they were done. I especially like that they have certified arborists on staff. I trust Mizell's to work on our trees. The only negative was that it took about a month (or longer) before we received a bill for the service performed. My husband likes to pay for services rendered immediately.

The gentleman I spoke with was very nice, however Mizell does not work in Dallas, or at least my part of Dallas. The company was unable to help me.

I have no idea how much we spent with them. They are great. As a matter of fact, they just trimmed the trees of our neighbor down the street. They are very good.

THIS IS A FANTASTIC COMPANY!! For years, we have struggled to find a good tree trimming service - some years we paid more than this company charges and wound up with trees that were butchered, and a parkway full of piled branches. This company is so different. First, David Mizell is personally involved with every job and he is a certified arborist and horticulturist, and he really knows his trees! Secondly, he has a small crew that has been with him for years and know what they are doing! Third, they sterilize all of their saws, loppers, etc. between jobs, so you don't have to worry about them bringing someone else's tree disease into your yard. And fourth, they mulch and haul away all the debris so you don't have a 20 foot high pile of branches on your parkway until the trash men come. This was probably one of the most professional companies I have EVER dealt with in any field. Absolutely superb and attentive to all the details. Half way through the day of trimming, the owner came out and inspected the crew's work and made some suggests for additional trimmings. I will never work with any other tree company as long as I have a home in this area!
