Description of Work: This was my first service experience with James Pool Service. Previously I've purchased parts and chemicals from them. I hired them to disassemble and clean my DE filter for $125 and make chemical recommendations to address some yellow algae issues. They showed up several hours late to start the work and I had to leave before they finished. They told my wife they would be back the following day, but never showed up or called. Two days later a bill for over $500 showed up. I knew several of the filter grids were damaged and needed to be replaced, however they replaced all the grids and performed some other services we never discussed. After calling and speaking with the owner, he explained that the serviceman was relatively new and failed to communicate properly. He assured me they did what was best for the pool and also provided over $100 in additional discounts. The owner is very knowledgeable, provides good advice and recommendations and so I'm willing to try them again to see whether this was simply a case of poor communications or running up additional charges.

+ -1 moreAbout a week prior to the start of the project, I called around and received many many estimates for a deck. Normally I am accustomed to contractors trying to push a product they like working with or make the most money. I understand that. Steve and James listened to what I wanted and then thought about it and offered some design changes. They didn't try to push a easier product or anything like that. They have been doing this for a while now and just pointed out something in the design that might cause an issue in the future. I really enjoyed these guys! Once contracted, they were onsite working with in 48 hours. The crew was very professional, quick, precise and cleaned up EVERYTHING I am extremely pleased with the professionalism and craftsmanship of this company. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Description of Work: JH pool and Deck, too my thoughts and created a wonderful backyard living space for my family. A beautiful 400+ sqft, multi level deck. I love it. HIGHLY recommend Steve and James, they are very professional and HONEST!!!!!!!!!!!!
