My bathroom remodel went extremely well. Tony was my project manager on site and I can't begin to say what a great job he did. The overall work , quality and timeline all far exceeded my expectations. I would definitely use this company over and over again.

Richard was professional and timely during the visit. He took his time to really understand what we wanted and needed. He was very mindful of our budget and suggested several options. He took the time to explain the value and benefit of different glass options. He took his time while making sure all measurements were exact. He allowed me and my husband to stay right beside him during the process. Richard patiently answered all questions during all measuring and decision making. The delivery of the glass was right on time, and communication was clear and concise. The delivery driver knew my husbands request of where we wanted to stage the glass while waiting for our installation date. The driver was very focused on customer satisfaction.(great experience). The installation happened right on the scheduled time. Team was professional and respectful while in our home. The installation went smooth and we are thrilled with the end product. We paid half of our bill following the first visit-(estimate, measuring and final decision for contract). They stayed true to delivery and installation dates. We paid the second half on the day of installation. I made all payments via phone. The office manager was friendly, efficient and all receipts were emailed to me within 15 minutes of each phone conversation. We will use this company for all future needs. Thank you to the entire team at DFW Shower Shop!!!

I contacted the Shower Shop to get a bid on a complete remodel of a kitchen and small bathroom. This was a significant size project including removing a wall in the kitchen, design, cabinets, counter tops, floors, etc. The bathroom was also a complete gut and remodel including moving walls, etc. The company scheduled an appointment for Friday, then called me back a couple of days later stating they don't do quotes on Friday's and moved our appoint to the following Tuesday. We met with the designer on Tuesday afternoon and talked about the project, he took measurements, and offered some suggestions on cabinet lines, etc. He stated he would have some design options by Friday to discuss. Several days after the Friday he committed to, I had not heard from him. I texted and he responded to my text stating that he was busy and would have something by the end of that week. On the new due date, I texted again with no response. Tried a day later with no response. At this point, I have not heard anything more. Must assume that the company is not interested in the work.

Maybe our little job was not big enough or important enough for The Shower Shop to care about. We were told by the salesman that it would be 4 weeks to installation. We were not told the 4 weeks would be until shower installation only and that the glass would not be ordered until after that. In total our tub to shower conversion took 4 months!!! It was 10 weeks before they started installation (NOT 4 weeks), 4 days until shower installation was completed, 3 more weeks until the glass was installed, and 2 more weeks before the final piece was installed and the job completed. Half the total cost ($3,000+) was charged to our account 2 weeks after our order was placed -- 2 months before installation was started and 3 months before the shower was usable. The other half was charged 4 weeks before the shower was usable. They covered much of the room with plastic but the demolition still left a thick coat of dust all over the bathroom and adjoining bedroom, which they did not clean up. Customer service was terrible. We would call the office to try to find out when something was going to happen and be told that an owner would call us back. When no one called we would call again and be told the same thing. This happened several times. Individually, the men who did the installations were professional and, finally, the shower is unable and looks great. The quote from the Shower Shop was much less than our quotes from other companies - all using Onyx materials. I guess you get what you pay for. Buyer beware.

Hello [Member name removed] - We would like to apologize that your project took longer than anticipated. We are pleased that you are happy with the finished product...please call if you have any questions or concerns. BTW, we do offer "post-construction" cleaning as an optional item. Cleaning is offered separately because some clients prefer to save the cost and do it themselves, some clients would rather pay to have it cleaned. I will reiterate this being offered as an option to your Design Consultant. Thanks again for your business - Management @ TSS

The owner came at the agreed upon time and date. He looked at our needs and enthusiastically gave recommendations. He seemed at the time like he wanted the job. Problem was I never got the quote. I called several times and either left voicemails which went unreturned or was given reasons for the delay. If I did reach someone there was always an excuse for why the quote had not been done and given an updated timeframe. All came and went without a quote. We gave up on them after almost 2 months. A couple of weeks ago I got a call from a woman at the shop inquiring if I was still interested in receiving a quote. I told her no the work had already been done by someone else. She apologized and said the owner had gotten ill right after he came here. I certainly hope he is better now, but that information would have been good to know at the time. A few days later the same woman called me again asking the same question. I don't know what kind of job he does but I sure wasn't impressed with quote process.

Hello (removed member name) - We would like to apologize that your quote slipped through the cracks. Our Owner was hospitalized last year for a week, in recover for a couple of weeks afterward, and then playing catch-up for a couple of weeks once he returned. Unfortunately, some things that were on his desk were moved to the back burner and left unattended for several weeks or lost completely. If we can help you in the future please don't hesitate to call us as we are back at full strength now. Thanks ~ Management @ TSS

I apologize for your experience with TSS. Our showroom is open by appointment only but it sounds like you had an appointment to meet with a Designer or Remodeler here. There was one weekend in mid-2014 when the Owner was hospitalized and no one else could cover the showroom appointments, we can only assume that your appointment was scheduled for that day since this is not a common occurrence. THis is the 4th time I have used The Shower Shop and continue to be very pleased with results. Previously completely remodeled master bathroom, kitchen, and built a new marble fireplace for me. Joey is easy to work with, knowledgeable, and creative. The office staff is just excellent! The work crew this time around was great - arrived on time, kept me informed, explained things when I needed to make decisions, were careful in attention to detail. Kept their work contained and cleaned up every single day. I knew who was coming each day - no day hires - so always feel safe with these folks. Shower Shop just rocks!

They did it twice. They tore my tub and put in a frames shower then they came back and finished the rest of the bathroom including cabinet work and they extended part of the bathroom. I had a bad experience with them. My ring disappeared and then it reappeared under mysterious circumstances but it had nothing to do with the owner. They did a good job in my shower prior 3 years ago. They were in a rush to get the job done the last time they came but they did what they said they would do. I would not recommend them. The owner was going to have a lie detector on them for the ring and he kept following through.

Hello Mrs. [member name removed] - We appreciate your acknowledgement that we, Owners/Management were persistent and committed to getting you answers regarding the missing ring. You will be happy to know that we intended to follow through with the lie detector testing even after the ring appeared, but the crew leader resigned and has not been with the company since this occurred. We don't use sub-contractors for this reason. We require background checks and drug testing for all employees during the hiring process to do our best to prevent incidents such as this from occurring. The teardown went smooth. The cement floor had to be jack hammered open to move the shower drain and hide the plumbing for the bathtub that was removed. Shower plumbing was moved to center due to enlarging stall. All plumbing work was done well. New shower pan put in place, floor was tiled, new shower stall walls were installed. accent strip was put in place. Due to us having an electrician come in and move lights and switches around, there was extra dry wall work that needed to be done. That was completed and done well (extra charge was added at end due to the extra work) The cabinets, new quartz counter, sinks, fixtures were installed, everything was done beautifully. There was wallpaper on the walls, which was supposed to be removed. The crew stated it could not be removed so they were going to float the wall, plastering over the wallpaper. After painting the walls did not look good, blotchy etc. I had a painter look at the walls at he stated the walls needed to be sealed before painting. I had them do that, and the walls look great now.
Description of Work: We had a full master bathroom remodel. The shower stall was enlarged, the tub removed. Cabinets, counter top, sinks, fixtures, toilet all replaced. New tile floor. Walls were floated and painted.

My projects were in multiple parts. They worked with me very well. I am most pleased with the outcome. They first started a remodel of my kitchen, replacing the countertops and the backsplash, along with a new sink and faucet. Next they completely remodeled my Master Bath, and they took down two walls replacing with half walls, and I had them build a complete glass enclosed shower with marble throughout the bath. I had the old whirlpool torn out and replaced with a beautiful soaking tub with marble surround. The double countertop and sinks are beautiful marble and porcelain. I have all new fixtures. The job was so beautiful that The Shower Shop sent a professional photographer to take pictures of the final outcome to pursue a NARA membership. I wish them well. They deserve a membership. I would most definitely use them again. It was such a pleasure to work with them.

Charles' crew were terrific. Extremely professional and skilled. They were very thoughtful and careful when removing old items and carrying in new items. When the ice storm threw deliveries of the cabinets behind they worked on Friday and Saturday after Christmas to get back on schedule; they were scheduled for vacation those days. Tom the glass installer was equally nice and professional. I can not say enough good about the professionals at the Show Shop and would not hesitate to use them again.

Joey seemed very professional and enthusiastic when he was here. Gave us innovative ideas that we like and will implement. Said he would provide an estimate and then we would come to his showroom to look at models and refine the plans. We waited. We called. We called again. It is now over six weeks later and we have not heard from him nor had a call returned. Too bad he didn't follow-up, but we will find another contractor to implement many of the ideas that he suggested.
Description of Work: Joey measured, presented what his company could do and how they work, gave us ideas and said he would submit a mid-range estimate soon that we could then refine for two bathroom remodels.

We were extremely pleased with the work that Joey Gates and his crew did for us! This was a project that had to be done in a very tight timeframe. My parents were visiting for Christmas, and we decided that rather have them use the only bathroom on the first floor, the guest suite should have a private bathroom, and we needed to add a powder room. The catch was that we needed to have everything completed before their visit. Also we had not decided to do the project until late September. So that gave us exactly three months to find a contractor, come up with a design, pick out and order all the fixtures and get the work done. Joey came over and quickly came up with a design. He is very knowledgeable and credible. It was his idea to swap the toilet and bathtub in the larger bathroom, and then he worked through many different ideas with us to make the project work. He was extremely flexible and allowed me to order all my own fixtures. We had several meetings with him, and he helped us select the quartz counter top, the shower pan and the glass doors, etc. We signed the contract and agreed on a start date. The crew showed up the Monday after Thanksgiving, and worked a solid 3 weeks including Saturdays and completed the project. I have never seen anyone work harder. The guys were extremely courteous and polite, and cleaned up daily. They were very conscientious about placement of items, and consulted us very often throughout the project – which was great since we tend to be very hands on. They were done exactly in time as they had committed to. When we received the final invoice, everything was exactly as quoted, the only minor change order was for the unexpected plumbing work, that was required to repair a defect that pre-existed in the house. The workmanship and quality is excellent. The powder room is very sophisticated, a true showcase, and the guest bathroom is very spa-like – so we are thrilled with the work. We plan to use Joey and his crew again for our future master bathroom remodel. I highly recommend the Shower Shop to anyone that wants to remodel their bathroom!
Description of Work: The shower shop completed a powder room and a full bath in our home which was built in 1927. The first project was to convert a small wet bar into a powder room. They completely gutted the very small room, moved the door so it opened to a hallway instead of a sitting room. They had to move plumbing, install a toilet with an in-wall tank and pedestal sink, and tile the back wall for accent. They also did an excellent job of matching the floor tile to the tile in the hallway – so it matches perfectly. Additionally they did a great job on the fresco plaster finish on the walls. The second project was a complete makeover of our existing guest bathroom that was outdated. They first gutted the room down to the studs, found some major plumbing problems, which they easily corrected. They insulated the walls and put up water resistant sheet rock, and cement board where the shower would be. They moved the plumbing so they could swap the location of the bathtub and toilet. Instead of a bath they put in a beautiful tiled shower with glass doors. They fabricated and installed a beautiful quartz countertop on top of the custom vanity I had ordered. They put in all new plumbing fixtures, tiled the floor, put in the light fixtures, moved and put in all new electrical outlets and switches, and put up a very larger mirror above the vanity, and even a lighted make-up mirror.

We went in with pictures directly downloaded from The Shower Shops web site of previous work they had done and said we wanted what they had on the picture with a few slight modifications. We thought that would be simple but it was not. They told us it would only take 2-3 weeks for a full bathroom re-model because they do everything themselves without any sub- contractors. That was false - it took almost 7 weeks because they kept sending our 2 guys (1 that knew what he was doing the other just a day laboror) over to other jobs. The two grand finalies were when they left the glass measurements up to an email from me (and they were wrong of course) and then got mad at me and wanted me to eat their cost on the wrong glass ordered. I said no. And here is the topper - about 8 months later the pipping under our hot tub came completely undone - no plumbers glue holding the PVC pipes together. So when we drained the tub it dumped all contents into the room downstairs. It was all covered by our 1 year warranty and they came out and fixed it and the damaged area (same 2 guys). But what a disaster!!! And now we are no longer under warranty - buyer beware.

Chad came over to do the initial assessment. It was obvious that he knew more than the other bidders. He is a great salesman and gives you a lot of ideas. I did negotiate with him on the price since his initial quote was significantly more (almost $1000). I got it reduced by $400 or so. I did like the fact that he was not sub-contracting the work. He was insistent that their number one priority was my satisfaction ... and he and the owners proved it later. He also gave a complete breakdown of what he was doing. He recommended that we install a metal sink stating that the granite ones will start to fade/chip or even get gouged after a few years. Being an engineer, I know that he was explaining the material used in the sinks correctly (granite powder/resin mixture). We went to a granite slab vendor and chose one. Chad had some useful recommendations based on some initial choices that we made. The staff came the first day and proceeded nicely. The granite did not have the consistent edges including a (1.5.x.5x.5) crater among other smaller craters. It was then explained to us that quartz impurities do shatter when cutting and they are filled with a resin/granite mixture. The first attempt at this looked like chewing gum stuck underneath a desk. We let Chad know of our displeasure and the next day, we could not even figure out where the craters were. Also, the staff broke a glass edge of our cooktop stove. We asked for it to be fixed and the next day, they agreed to replace the glass or give the cost of the glass ($200) towards a new stovetop. Since our stove was in good shape and we didn't want to pay $1200 for a completely new cooktop, we just asked for the replacement top. The nice thing was that they did not try to dime and nickel us on this. The top came in, they popped out the old one and replaced it. They also did a nice job of installing the granite into the framing columns for one of the countertop, cutting into the posts and then filling it out. Most of our friends have two pieces of granite which are held together with glue. We really like the way this was done. The backsplash was initially a disaster. The grout lines were all over the place, some tiles were jutting out, some were too recessed. The insets were covered with cement. This was exacerbated by the fact that we have at least 8 corners in the backsplash. Also travertine does have little nicks in it which looks awful when badly set. Chad had their best tile setter come in and redo the entire tile work. He also put a border around the backsplash tiles which smoothes it out (added $200 to the cost). It is truly gorgeous and the highlight of our house. Not to be obnoxious but we can easily notice the difference in the quality of our granite and backsplash compared to those of others. Everybody comments that this is the best granite work that they have seen. You get what you pay for. The downside was that this took 3.5 weeks!!! and twice the staff were taken away to attend to some other tasks. When settling the bill, I raised it with the owners who immediately agreed to take $400 off the price for lost time for the inconvenience. (They were planning to not charge for the border). To summarize, they didn't get everything right the first time but they really fixed everything up. I am very happy the work product and the fact that they did not hesitate to redo the work even though it was quite a loss to them to do so. That is a true indication of their dedication having a satisfied customer. I would hire Chad to oversee any installation project since he can immediately pinpoint what is wrong and suggest fixes. Note: My wife did finally lose it after the 3rd week and gave Chad a piece of her mind. I am pretty sure that Chad would have still done the right thing regardless. Checklist: - Having fancy patterns in the granite is great but the quartz in the patterns has some risk of shattering and creating a crater. The craters are filled with resin. Having a good installer makes the difference between having a shiny surface and a wad of ugly brown resin filing the crater. - Take pictures of your surface, cooktops, and floors before (place a newspaper on the floor to show the date) showing the date so that any damage claims can be justified. You probably don't need it with this crew but why take the chance? - Put "time is of the essence" in the contract and a penalty for every week of delay after the completion date of the contract. It will certainly motivate the contractor to be on time. - If possible, show the installer what you are looking for either with pictures or drawings so that you are on the same page. - Try to avoid subcontractors; There is no way that a company hiring subcontractors would have agreed to redo the work.
Description of Work: We wanted a granite countertop in a large kitchen - 3 large surfaces including an island and 2 smaller surfaces. One wrap around backsplash that is interrupted by a bay window and has a couple of corners. We decided to frame the backsplash in order to have rounded edges.

After four estimates I selected them. Wanted a shower I wouldn't have to constantly deal with mold. Their treated marble is gorgeous! Went with their frameless door which enhances the look. Crew was prompt, professional, cleaned up every night, protected my wood floors in my master bathroom, covered everything in the room to protect from dust. Joey was great to work with and I recommend this company over others. The treated marble cost a tad more than tile but it is well worth the investment.

He was very nice and had a great product but I'm just needing an inexpensive fix.
Description of Work: None performed but he showed me a lot of really nice stuff but it was 3 or 4 times more than I could afford.

On the first day, the sales man came out to write the contract and I paid for half of the project. I didn't hear anything for three days, so I called and left a message. They finally came out to take the measurements. They didn't come back for three days after that. When they came back, the cut wasn't right. They do not come on time and they are very inconvenient for me. I was told that the project would be finished on May 8th and they didn't even show up.
Description of Work: I hired them to put in new counter tops.

They were high but I expected them to be. I wouldn't get another quote because they probably would be too high.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from The Shower Shop for a bathroom remodel.
