D & D Wallpapering

Don came out and measured the room to determine how many rolls were needed for the job. We discussed the timing of wallpaper vs. the rest of the remodeling work and decided to do the paper after the floor (switching from carpet to tile). Because the rest of the remodeling was not complete as soon as expected, I had to ask for a somewhat later date for the wallpapering. Don was quite accommodating. He arrived promptly when expected and collected the same amount as estimated. He cleaned up the area when finished.

Don arrived exactly on time. I explained my problem to him. A lot of people would have charged me hundreds of dollars for a really small job but he did the job brilliantly and charged a fair price. He knew I was really in a tight spot to get the paper changed. He quietly did the job better than I could have imagined. He was very pleasant to work with and I would recommend him without reservation to anyone who wants an honest wallpaper guy--. And his work expertise is wonderful!!.

Don's our new go-to painter for our bathroom renovations. He quickly removes wall paper, muds, textures and paints. He's a very personable man and very professional. We'll be using D & D Wallpapering for all future painting needs.

This guy is unbelievably meticulous - he works alone, is diligent and courteous. Best experience I have ever had (and I have lots) with a painter -- never used him for wallpaper but he's apparently an expert on that too, and can handle the most expensive and difficult repeats

Don arrived every day on time and worked very hard at the job. He quoted us a week's time to do the job and even finished one day early! Everything looks great and he is a very conscientious worker and very detail oriented. This is the second time we have used D&D Wallpaper and we will again.

Arrived promptly on the agreed date to start work. Finished the job in one day. Original estimate was for 1 3/4 days work because we all thought it would take a lot of time to get the old paper stripped. Since it only took one day, he lowered his total price without our even mentioning it. He did a beautiful job of wallpapering & straightening up after he was through. Great! Highly Recommend!

Don did a great job of installing a difficult grasscloth in our entry. He had to prep the wall by floating it twice to obtain a really smooth texture. He worked really hard all day to get the job done in one day and didn't leave until I was completely satisfied with everything. He was responsive to my initial inquiry, punctual in providing a quote and arrived early on the scheduled work day. I highly recommend him and would utilize him again in a heartbeat!

Don showed up on time. We knew the wall prep may be a bit challenging because the existing paper could not be removed and it was quite a bold, dark and busy pattern. Going to a tone on tone stripe that was cream color and light brown, we knew the bold pattern would show through without the proper attention. After some collaboration, he agreed to put two coats of primer on the wall to ensure no bleed through. That worked brilliantly! He even spent time discussing where we were to start the stripe on the wall so it would finish properly above the cabinets and below the ceiling. Running the paper horizontially versus vertically, as traditionally done, did not seem to pose any additional challenge. It looks amazing. He even came back because the paper did not go all the way to the top of the cabinets leaving about a 1" gap. However, in most kitchens, you would never see it from the ground. Having a very open plan and a 1 1/2 story, the top of the cabinets can be seen from the upstairs landing. Don, put in a strip that closed the gap and now it looks perfect. It took him all of 30 minutes. Great work and cleaned up. Would definitely use D&D again.

We hired Don to remove wallpaper, texture and paint our son's bathroom. He showed up on time every day and was very conscientious about cleaning up and making sure all the prep work was done properly. He was very friendly and professional. He did a great job and we will definitely hire him again in the future.

Don initially came by to give an estimate on a wallpapering job. Several days later he arrived promptly, discussed the job with me and went right to work. He was careful, professional, and engaging. It took him exactly 4 hours and he charged me $50.00 less than the initial quote. Don is fair and reasonable and will be hiring him for more wallpapering in the future.

Don came out and was just wonderful. He was very professional and was able to quickly assess what the wall would need in order for our pricy paper to look it's best once up. He worked very quickly and lined up a very difficult patterned wallpaper with ease. I would use him again in a minute - in fact, we are getting him back out for another project shortly. I would highly recommend Don.

He was prompt, on time, and courteous. You can tell he is passionate about his job. He is a perfectionist. It is so gorgeous it doesn't look like wallpaper. I would hire him again if I had another job to do.

Got estimate for BR day after I called. Then the next day, we decided to paper the bathroom as well. Don came back out and gave an estimate for that room on the spot. No problem or compaints about the need for a second visit. Estimate was very reasonable. Don started on BR and recommended that we flot the wals there as well since there was a tiny bit of testuring in the paint. Don told me that although we'd not notice it at first, eventually it would drive us nuts, so we better do the job right. This required extra work on his part, but he did it within the original estimate. Comleted the job in two days and it came out beautifully. A week later he did the bathroom. It took 2 1/2 days because of having to float the walls twice - waiting for the floating to dry took the extra time. Again the job was completed with excellent results. Don also did a nice job of cleaning up and reinstalling all the lights, receptacles, etc.Overall, we were very happy with the work.

Do you this company. The gentleman was on time, did a wonderful job wallpapering a small half bath. The price he quoted was the price he charged. Lovely man, cleaned the area after he finished wallpapering. Will use him again. Very pleased.

Did a thin plaster coat to smooth our somewhat rough walls in the morning, and put up the wallpaper in the afternoon, after the plaster had dried. Worked very fast and did a perfect job, can't even see the seams.

Mr. Driggers worked very hard at staying in contact even though I had forgotten his appointment. We reconnected and he came by and fixed my wallpaper in in a few minutes. Did a great job! He cleaned up well and new what he was doing.

He was very workman like and professional. He arrived when he said he would. He cleaned up everything at the end of each day. His work was flawless. He was very knowalagble and pleasant, We will recommend him to friends and family. We will definitely use him again should we need these services.

Don wallpapered a (former) doorway, blending his work with prior work that was about 30 years old. The customer-provided paper consisted of 30-year-old scraps left over from the previous job, and required him to cut and fit pieces together to cover the door area, since no pieces were long enough to extend top-to-bottom. The result was a near-perfect match with seams well hidden. Don set up his workbench in the kitchen and cleaned up thoroughly when done. The end result was significantly better than I thought possible given the constraints.

This was a follow up to the job he completed for us in May. The first job took seven days to complete. The first job was a test to determine if we wanted him to paint the remaining rooms in our house. Since he did such a good job the first time out, we decided to have him complete our painting project. Again, he showed up on time every day and stayed all day until the work was completed. That was essentail since we continued to live in the house while he was painting. He worked with us on the order of which to rooms to be painted first He covered all furniture and floors to prevent paint spill messes. He even helped me move heavy furniture to allow him access to walls and ceilings. He was very professional and courteous while he was here. He answered all questions I had on the project.The price seemed reasonalbe considering the amount of work involved to prep all rooms before painting (crack repair and texturing). He even allowed the 10% discount Angies list this second time. This time required over 12 gallons of paint and 9 days to complete. He even bought one unused can of ceiling paint back from me that was not used.

He showed up on time every day and stayed all day every day to complete the work. It was essentail to a quick completion since we are living in the house while he worked. He was very professional and answered all my questions. We felt safe leaving him alone in the house whenever we had to leave. The price seemed reasonable considering all the crown molding, baseboards, doorways and doors to be painted in addition to the walls and ceilings. The job required almost 7 gallons of paint. When I asked about the 10% Angies list discount at the beginning of the job, he did not hesitate to allow it. He did a good job trimming corners and where the different paints met on the walls, ceilings, doorways and baseboards. When I asked for a second coat on a wall or other place, he just went ahead and painted it. He would review work already completed to check for missed spots. He used drop cloths to protect the furniture and floors. I did not find many drips/spots on the floors after he finished that needed cleaning. I was very pleased with the work and overall experience. I would definitely hire him again!

From the comments on Angie's list, I decide to give Donald a try. For a professional, Donald has absolutely no method of removing wallpaper. He DID NOT do any of the things I would expect him to do, like perforate the wallpaper, moisturize the wallpaper and then peel. He simply used a putty knife and start to peel the wallpaper whereever he can. Obviously, it WAS NOT VERY EFFECTIVE. The result was so poor. It left huge patches of old wallpaper on the wall and he just told me that they would not come off. I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the job. I confronted him about the poor job of removing wallpaper. All he could tell me was that when he texturize it and paint over it, I will not notice that there was wallpaper underneath. I should have send him home right then and there. I made the mistake of having complete the job. His texturize method was so bad. It left bubbles on my wall. To correct the issue, he sanded down the bubbles and put additional paint on top of it. This left uneven patches all over my walls. Overall, it was the worst paint job ever.

The whole encounter was great. He was able to come out just a few days after we contacted him and took just a few hours to complete the job from start to finish.

he did a really great job installing a 9x12 ft wallpaper mural for our nursery. He walked us through the different placement options, and then installed the piece very quickly. It looks great!! The seams are perfect - I would definitely use him again.
