I am an elderly woman who was financially hurt by Darrin Cutler. Initially I was impressed with the work he performed. His charges were reasonable, he was always neat and clean in appearance and seemed to be knowledgeable about anything I needed done. I have no problem with the quality of his work. As time went on, he became quite friendly with my entire family, adult children and grandchildren. He brought his teenage son on many jobs and introduced me to his wife and new baby. I came to like him and thought of him as a friend, which I too late realized was part of a con job when he asked me for a loan to help with the purchase of a car for his son. He said he was in a bind because the dealership was going to repossess the car that very day because his loan didn't go through. His wife didn't know, and he didn't want to worry her. His son didn't know either and was in possession of the car which was a birthday gift. He knew I had the money since I'd just sold my former home for a profit, but that money was to be used for remodeling my current home. I did not want to loan the money to him and suggested other ways he could maybe take care of the problem, but he came up with all the right answers and said he would pay me back a week later when the new loan would for sure go through and gave me reasons why it would which I don't remember. Evidently he finally told his wife what happened because they came to my home and gave me a check for the loan, adding an additional amount for my kindness. Of course, the check bounced. When I told him, he gave me a second check which also bounced. This was painful because I liked and trusted Darrin. I was embarrassed to tell my family what I'd done, and told him this. Finally, I did share it with them as well as an attorney. I've been on the fence about prosecuting because of his family and realize it would be like squeezing blood from a turnip; however, I know others have been and will most likely be hurt in the future which is why I decided to post here. After hounding him over and over, he paid me small amounts over a period of months then stopped all communication. The final amount he still owes is in the neighborhood of $9,000.

For those who's planning to work with this firm, here's our warning! Darrin Cutler is a fraudster with engaging manners and velvety speeches. I shall explain our situation in detail. After signing a contract with Cutler Services LLC to make partial renovations in our bathroom – the main job included the installation of new faucets in two sinks, a new faucet for the tub, and a complete makeover of the shower stall along with a glass enclosure from "Fashion Glass and Mirror" – we made Darrin Cutler an advance payment of $7300 which was meant to cover the $2700 fee from "Fashion Glass and Mirror", and we left Darrin Cutler the keys to our flat along with the already purchased by us faucets and rain shower parts. According to the contract, all work was supposed to have been completed in our absence during the 20 days we were on vacation. Upon our return, the renovations should have been finished. The contract was signed 9/10/17; we made the advance payment the same day. The work was meant to progress from the 2nd to the 20th of October. Thus there was enough time to organise and complete everything. When we returned, we discovered that the major task of remaking the shower stall hadn't even been started. Excuses were found to each out inquiry. First, Darrin told us that he had long since ordered the shower stall tiles, but they remained undelivered, therefore the work could not continue; then he made up to us in flowery tones about his willingness to move mountains for our satisfaction. After our increasing demands to start on the shower stall without the tiles and at least install the shower pan and the rain shower, he carried it out under our pressure, all the while feeding us his promises that the tiles will arrive the next day, and again the next day... It was only after we found replacement tiles ourselves and invited him to purchase them in our presence that the tiles were finally installed. All this went on for the duration of a month following our return, and even the shower pan installation was performed abysmally. Plus, after trying out the shower equipment we have discovered two significant leaks which may damage the walls unless seen to. Thus, we cannot use even the shower at all for now. But we still lacked the glass cabin. At first, Darrin justified this situation by claiming that "Fashion Glass and Mirror" kept delaying the delivery date despite his repeated attempts to visit them and speed up the proceedings. On November 15th, we got a message from Darrin that "Fashion Glass and Mirror" will deliver and install the glass enclosure that same day. When we hadn't received anything a week hence, we called up "Fashion Glass and Mirror" ourselves and discovered that the order had never been paid for and therefore was unfulfilled. That is, Darrin had been feeding us empty promises. We informed him that we were now aware of the situation with the order. After that, we kept getting increasingly rare communications from him, in which he each time claims to be on his way to"Fashion Glass and Mirror", check in hand. Eventually we had to order the shower cabin ourselves, and obviously had to pay them directly - meaning that we had to pay twice. The copy of cashier check for the cabin that Darin had sent us, after much asking, was obviously fraudulent. The situation is obvious: the money for the shower enclosure was pocketed by Darrin, and he has no intention of paying up. By our estimation, he owes us over $3270 since the work that was performed is both poor quality and left unfinished.

Paid for materials in advance. Cancelled service contact within a week and more than 7 days prior to service commencement. Darrin promised to return the prepaid fees. He stalled for months with various excuses and even provided a text picture of refund cashiers check. Check was never received and Darrin stopped returning my calls and texts.

He took deposit and did no work!

He took $5,250 materials deposit for work he did not do. We cancelled the contract with Darrin in advance of start date. He was to return our deposit immediately. 5 months later, after numerous lame excuses and lies we have not received our money back! He no longer accepts our calls or texts.

It was fabulous. Everything was on time and during the timeframe. The workmanship was outstanding!!
