We had water come in through the roof in mid-November. Canyon Creek was able to tarp our roof (for $500) and subsequently diagnose and repair the problems, which involved replacing a large amount of shingle and other items. They surveyed the full roof and noted a variety of problems with fascia, eaves, shingle, etc. Provided a consolidated estimate to repair all of it at once and worked with me a little on the price. Still not an inexpensive option but the quality of work was good and I believe they will stand behind it should we experience future problems. Cary Kelley was responsive throughout and gave me good explanations of the work and why it was needed.

I contacted Canyon Creek Roofing (CCR) to review storm damage to my house. On 9/15/2014, Donna of CCR came out to do an initial review. She was very punctual and professional. She advised that I contact my insurance company to come-out for an insurance inspection of the storm damage and that she would also like to be there when the insurance adjuster was present so that she could work with the adjuster. On 9/19/2014, the joint review occurred with Donna of CCR and my insurance adjuster. They spent almost an hour reviewing the entire property. My insurance adjuster gave me a coverage estimate and Donna of CCR received a copy. Within a few days Donna of CCR emailed me an estimate of what my out-of-pocket costs would be after my insurance paid their portion including the costs of what I "upgraded". I was very pleased with the quote and authorized CCR to proceed. On 10/2/2014, CCR pressure-washed my fence. On 10/7/2014, CCR started on the roof and completed it within 2 days. Once I received the initial payment from my insurance company, I wrote a check to CCR for the first payment on 10/11/2014. Once the job was fully completed and passed the city inspection (which fully passed the inspection on the first inspection), my insurance company paid me the remainder of the claim and then I paid the remainder of the bill to CCR on 12/3/2014. CCR was very pleasant to work with and they were very patient waiting for my insurance company to pay me before I would need to pay CCR. It really helped to have Donna of CCR work directly with my insurance company to ensure everything is covered as there's many contractual and technical aspects of the insurance claim that a home owner typically won't understand. The workers did a very professional job and cleaned-up my yard nicely after they were done.

I dealt with Canyon Creek Roofing in Richardson, not Garland. I don't know what the relationship is but assuming they are part of the same company here is my advice: do not call them, if they call you, hang up, if they come on your property, call the cops. These folks are bad news. I ended up using Bold Roofing who did a great job and who I have given a recommendation on Angies List.
Description of Work: Nothing. I chose not to do business with them. I was so disgusted with them I chose to pay over $1000.00 NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Roofing companies have a reputation for being sleazy and Canyon Creek Roofing is exhibit A.

It went well. They came out and repaired the leak. It leaked some the next time it rained but they came out immediately, found the problem and repaired it at no additional cost. Definitely a good company.

Canyon Creek did a good job on the roof, first rate crew and materials...helped with sorting out the insurance.... The work was done in 2011. I'm writing in annoyance about something that's happened recently. Prior to, during and subsequent to the work back in 2011 I corresponded with Canyon Creek via email. A few weeks ago I started receiving social media solicitations to and quot;join Canyon Creekand quot; on Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. Apparently someone at Canyon Creek thought it was a good idea to provide my email address to third-party social media organizations 'as a way of staying in touchand quot;. Unfortunately, they didn't without ask permission to share my email with third-parties. I called and complained..the people I talked with and quot;didn't know who did it in their companyand quot; They said they would try and remove my name.. That didn't work so well. So.. now I'm getting repeat solicitations from Twitter. I got the LinkedIn to stop by reporting it as spam.. If I decline or unsubscribe or otherwise reject the service invite I'm pretty certain these organizations just sell my email to someone else. just peachy.....more spam. Very annoying

Their work was okay as roofers go. I had to call them back a couple times. First the roof leaked because the flashing wasn't sealed around the chimneys. Eventually we got it right.

I called company for bid on replacing roof (I used the company a number of years ago to install current roof and liked the job they did then). and quot;Gregand quot; came out to talk to me about what I wanted done and gave me several options. He went up on the roof to inspect and measure and said they would email me an estimate within 24 hours. I received the estimate within about 12 hours along with a note from Greg explaining several parts of the estimate. The next day I called with several questions which were answered fully and clearly. They had a backlog at that point of about 2-3 weeks. I had a trip planned at about that same time so I asked if it could either be done before the trip or if they would rather wait until after I returned (their preference). They indicated they would and quot;put it on the job boardand quot; when I paid 50% down. The next morning, before I had paid the 50% down, Michelle (in office) called me saying they had a cancellation for later that week and, if we were ready to do the job, they could have a crew and materials there 48 hours later. We said and quot;Goand quot; and paid the 50% down. Materials arrived the next morning delivered and stacked very neatly on half the driveway (giving me use of the driveway). The next morning the crew arrived with Greg. He started them stripping off the old roof and left, returning about an hour later to inspect all the decking prior to starting to lay the new roof. Decking was sound so new roofing progressed -- was completed before 4PM. Greg supervised most of the work although he was called away once during the afternoon. They asked to leave some of trash, pallets, etc until the next morning (in back by alley) as they had filled their trailer. The next morning two workers arrived and cleaned up all the trash and rolled a magnet bar around the entire yard twice. Greg arrived back before they finished and went up on the roof and inspected the entire job. He walked the perimeter with me inspecting everything and then went up in the attic to make certain there were no vents loose -- the work had shaken the hot water heater vent loose so he re-secured it. All other vents were fine. Final payment was due at completion. I felt the work was completed quickly and in a very professional manner. The supervisor attention was excellent and after-work care was very much appreciated. This is the second job they have done for us and I will call them again when the need arises.
Description of Work: Stripped off old roof down to decking; laid new paper; re-roofed with 20 yr asphalt shingles; installed new turbines; re-sealed around standpipes and replaced lead on four of the standpipes due to squirrel damage; and installed new flashing around facia.

They came out a day later than they said they would. They were scheduled for a Friday morning, but showed up on Saturday night around 6:30 p.m. However, the Dallas area had just had an extremely damaging storm, with large hail stones, earlier in the week, so I wasn't surprised that they were behind schedule. It would have been nice to receive a phone call telling us when to expect them once they missed the scheduled day.But when they did get here, the team got right to work, found the leak (a long nail in the wrong place evidently) in a fairly short amount of time, fixed everything they said they would, cleaned up the area, and were on their way before dark. I chose Canyon Creek Roofing because they have been in business in my area for a long time, and I wanted a company that would still be in business should I need to activate my warranty on the work completed.

I had used the company before and thought they were honest but did not use them for a large job until June. They came out and suggested that I needed to replace the entire roof. I had no problem with that but did not realize what I was getting into. They let me choose my shingles and assured me they could also do the inside work. It seemed to me that they just wanted money more than being concerned about the job. This is a rental home and I live about an hour away. When I needed to pay they refused to let me mail a check or give them a debit or credit card number!!! I had to either make a trip to Dallas or they would come get it. I had them come get it - I was not making an hour drive just because they wanted money that day. The roof was fast but they knocked a light and a ceiling fall loose in the house. Instead of them repairing the inside themselves like they promised they hired it out. I had no idea who this person they hired was. He went in and completely destroyed one bathroom and told the renters they could not even go in the bathroom for at least two days - no advance notice or anything. I called Canyon Creek and they did go out and take care of that issue. Then when working in the closet they did not order enough cedar and one guy would blame the other. So, after waiting over a week for the first order of cedar there was now an additional wait to get the remainder in. It finally came in and they tried to put the closet back together. They had not taken pictures of how it was nor had they made drawings of it. They put the shelves up where you would have to have a ladder to climb everytime you wanted something. They switched out clothes rods which didn't fit because they were in the wrong places. They rigged those and then thought the job was done. They refused to fix the loose light because it was not on the work order. Disaster! Again, I called Canyon Creek to have them fix the issue. I explained that they were to do the job and not hire it out. I told them that I would not recommend them to anyone. If they are responsible for the job and they decide to hire it out that it is a reflection on them. You trust a company to do what they promise to do. I would not pay the remaining until it was all done correctly. It was finally fixed and for the third time through all of this they wanted money now!!! Again, for the third time I could not mail it or give a credit card number. Who does that? I received a phone call saying they would be here the next morning at 9:30 to pick up a check. It was not them asking what would be convenient for me but demanding. I called back and told them I would be out of town. How rude to tell me when they would be here and I needed to be here!!! I did meet them the following day. I would never use them again. They do have a couple of good guys but the remaining employees were rude and demanding. They also did some so-called emergency work when they first came out. They never ask me if that was okay. I never even knew they had done the work until my insurance company told me. They should have asked me and given me an estimate on that. It ended up that I personally had to pay that since it wasn't approved by insurance. I would have asked them had I known. They should never just do some work and not even discuss it with the customer They appeared to be in this for money and could care less about the customer!!!! I really feel like I should not have to pay what I didn't approve but I paid them only to get them out of my hair!!!
Description of Work: I had the entire roof replaced. I ended paying around $3900.00 out of pocket. Insurance picked up the rest. There was also inside damage from a water leak.

I had hail damage from a strom. The insurance company said it would replace 500 sq feet of roof. Canyon Creek came out and said the roof was totaled and said they would inspect the roof with the insurance adjuster. They did that and the insurance company said they would replace 1000 sq ft of roof. Canyon Creek said to call out the insurenace adjuster again. To make a long story short, Canyon Creek met with the insurance adjuster 3 more time on my roof before the adjuster finally agreed that the roof was totaled. Because of Canyon Creek's diligence in the matter I ended up with a $12,000 insurance payment instead of the $4000 that I started with. No other roofer was willing to invest the time to work with the insurance company overmultiple visits and multiple appeals. Oh, they did a fine job of reroofing the house, too. They basically finished a tear off and reroof on a 2600 foot house with a steep roof in one day. That's pretty darn good.
Description of Work: Canyon Creek provided a complete reroof.

GOOD, FAST ESTIMATE. SENT IN WRITING WITH CONTRACT. DELAYED IN DELIVERING SHINGLES TO JOB SITE, AND THEN PROCEEDED TO BORROW SHINGLES DELIVERED FROM OUR HOUSE TO USE ON OTHERS. SAT IN DRIVEWAY FOR 2 WEEKS. FINALLY CAME, AND DID THE JOB, AND THEN RAN SHORT ON SHINGLES, AND BORROWED THEM FROM ANOTHER JOB. GAVE ME BILL FOR EXTRA SHINGLES SAYING THEY HAD UNDERESTIMATED, AND THEN TRIED TO COLLECT ABOVE THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE. ONLY FOUND OUT I OWED MORE THAN WRITTEN ESTIMATE AFTER THE JOB WAS COMPLETE. A VERY UNPROFESSIONAL OPERATION.
