They are good. I like them. They are very clean about cleaning up and they did the job right. We had some insurance that covered some of it, so we didn’t pay the whole thing. That whole thing, compressor and all, would have been $600 to $700, we only have to pay $120.

We were experiencing poor cooling in our upstairs for several years. Unit would not stop running especially during the late evening hours! A Definate DO: The service advisor/technician performed a complete measurement of our upstairs prior to evaluating system needs. He gave a complete review of the square footage with ceiling height. He then informed me that he would need to put all of his readings into a computer program "Industry Standard Software" to provide a complete assessment of system need. The output provided us with two bits of key information: Ductwork size was currently 1 inch diameter too small for our upstairs (4) bedrooms and (2) baths and the induction return air vent was too small to provide adequate airflow. Dos: The Service advisor then provided 4 full detailed estimates of system options that included different pricing and extimated utlitiy savings vs. current system. After I provided my pick on the options, the Service advisor/technician gave me an install date. Dos: I received several update calls keeping me informed leading up to the install date. I received a call the night before the installation to inform me as to the exact time the technicians would arrive and the procedures that would occur. also was provided step by step preperation details to make sure our upstairs hallway leading up to the attic was clear of any obstructions. The techs arrived on time. Were polite, informative and explained their step by step process to ensure the family was aware of equipment being moved up and down the stairs and to stay clear. Wow, we are so satisfied with how the whole process worked. My wife who rarely comments said "This was sure handled professionally" and "We feel like out needs were exceeded for a price that was very economical". My opinion is this company does it right from the start!
Description of Work: Dos: A complete "needs analysis" was performed with the full measurement of upstairs, current system, and current duct work type and size. The information was put into a computer program to provide an objective evaluation of what the upstairs systems needs were and compared it to the current system. The technician then provided me with 4 different cost options and plugged them into the program to give an average monthly utility savings scenario for each of the options. Dos: The technician provided guidance on system capabilities and when the equipment would be available to install and how long the work would take. Dos: The technician called the night before the install date to provide exact arrival time and gave some guidance on how the install would occur and that all entry ways would be protected from any debri from the entry and exit of the equpment. Dos: The technician finished the work on time and took an hour to completely walk me through the system installation to show how the new system worked and demonstrated the improved airflow to each room. He showed how the two speed system can save money during low need times. This gave us piece of mind!

In response to our potential buyer's inspection report identifying failing ductwork in our home for sale, we contacted our home warranty provider, American Home Shield, to see if a problem with ductwork might be covered under our listing warranty. We were caught off guard because we had been using another local heating and air conditioning company to do bi-annual maintenance on our system and assumed everything was in good working order. We were given a referral to Acclaim Services to have the problem evaluated. Rather than waiting for Acclaim to contact us, we gave them a call and explained that we were in the final day of our contract option period and needed to expedite a site visit. Within two hours of our call, the Acclaim technician had been to the house and identified 7 ducts that needed repair. Acclaim clearly outlined what the warranty would pay ($500 to repair the 7 faulty duct runs), as well as gave us pricing options for replacement of those 7 ducts with new R8 material or replacement of the entire duct system. Knowing exactly what was wrong (and the costs involved for all of our options) enabled us to fairly negotiate with our buyers and reach a satisfactory agreement. The buyers ultimately chose to accept a repair allowance and do their own repair after closing, so we were not able to use Acclaim for the repair and cannot speak to the quality of their work. However, we were impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism and appreciated their honesty.

The technician never contacted me again. So I called them on 07-26-2011 to tell them I still had a problem. David said he would check with the initial technician and call back. As of today (08-10-2011) I have heard nothing from them. I called on 07-27-20011 requesting AHS to intercede. They contacted Acclaim and said that Acclaim would contact me within 24 hours. Again, nothing but silence. Going forward, there is no circumstance in which I would permit Acclaim Services to perform any work for me.
Description of Work: The service was to diagnose and repair a mini-split central HVAC that was operating at less than half capacity. The referral was from AHS home warranty. The $60 I paid was for the co-pay. The technician (Caleb) admitted that he was just being trained and that he would have to check with the manufacturer for test specifications. He said he had never seen this type of AC before. He promised to call back to schedule a return date for the actual repair. On the first trip he did a minimal inspection. I signed his customer form acknowledging the initial visit but that this was "still a work in process". I expected follow-up. I expected professionalism. I got neither.

I can understand the frustration the customer experienced. The problem I have is I don't think it's a fair reflection of the type of service and quality of work we provide.This work was performed thru a home warranty company. The 60.00 service fee is what we are required to collect from the home owner per their policy. We deal directly with the homeowner but the authorization of repairs and payment for those repairs come from the home warranty company.We contacted the home warranty company and advised them of the situation. Upon completion of our call with the warranty company we were advised to bill out our labor to date and they would contact the homeowner of coverages.In dealing with home warranty policies you add a third party into the mix. Alot of things can be lost in translation. We are a national rank customer choice contractor for this warranty company for the last 2 years. In 2011 we were #8 in the United States.Number 8 out of approx. 2500 contractors is not bad but we are still striving for #1 This is based on a survey question asked to their customer. Would you recommend this company to a friend,family member or a co-worker.
