After initial contact he showed up four hours late for the initial appointment. This was the most punctual he was during the entire week he was hired. Initially he showed up and indicated that my wife's initial wiring job was done wrong (Not correct, but he used that as the reason to rewire the shed) He did install a box. The more my wife talked to him about what she wanted to do, the more he volunteered to bring material onto the property that we could, if we progressed, use. In the meantime, he was not doing the work we initially asked to be done. The result was that we ended up with two large piles of scrap timber which he had brought from who knows where. On the initial trip, after 4 hours of work, he asked for gas money which I gave him. He then did not show up for three days, and then came in with the trailer loads of wood pieces. He stated that his preference was to work in the late afternoon and into the evening because of the heat. I had misgivings about that from the standpoint of bothering the neighbors, but as it developed, he simply did not show up when he said he would after all. After two more days of trying to get him back to finish, he showed up late on Sunday afternoon. I wrote him a check for what he had initially done and asked him to remove his materials from the property. He did return to retrieve his tools while we were out, but left us with two wood piles and a lot of head scratching about what exactly he had done for $400.
Description of Work: Contacted him through Craigslist, and asked him to do work to finish a large shed on the property -- run electrical line from house to shed (190') wire shed for plugs, light switches and electricity. Shed had been started by us, was a prebuilt structure 8 x 16 that we had bought and moved to the property and we were looking for someone to finish the job. We also wanted an assessment of the remaining carpentry and to put the shed in a condition where it would pass inspection should we get a building permit.
