It went well. The contractor was very helpful, very knowledgeable. He was working off a detailed plan. He had a sprinkler license and also had horticulture background.

Sean and his crew revamped a landscaping job I had had done last year. They moved plants around, removed plants that had not worked in the area originally planted and added several new plants. In addition they added large flat stones to finish out the pathway that had already been created. 3 new trees were plants along with bubbler flood heads to insure that they received enough water. Finally, they extended a down spout underneath the walkway and into the grass to prevent mulch washout. The team worked tirelessly in hot, humid weather and completed the job in one day. They cleaned up the yard, removed all debris and had the yard looking spectacular. It was an amazing transformation.

Sean is awesome to work with. This review is such a long time coming - Sorry! The work was performed in Jan 2015. I wanted a nice wood deck and a custom surround for an above ground pond. Sean replied immediately and was extremely professional and obtained a master craftsman to build the deck and custom pond surround. He even went and picked up the 6' long stock tank. (no way it would fit in my car! Ha ha!) As soon as we were ready to start the install - winter welcomed us with a TON of rain.The team was professional and CLEAN - I don't know how they did it with all the mud. I couldn't even stay clean! But somehow they didn't bring a speck of mud on the patio. I was amazed! The pond was also setup - and runs perfect. All I had to do was go on a shopping spree to buy fish :)

. Really nice guy came by. Looked at all our landscape needs and plants we needed and then never followed through on the plan, the quote, any call back, nothing. I also sent him an email and a text to ask him if Southern Landscapes was going to send us a plan and a quote and never received anything back over 3 weeks later. I want to point this out because I explained to him this has happened so many times by contractors for a number of different things and he assured me that he never does this and always follows through. The funny thing is all we wanted was a simple plan and a quote for filling our big new planters and then clean up of the rest of the planters (we have quite a few) so the job wasn't too small or too big. We received nothing so if this is his follow up then I would be concerned. We won't be using them but thought others might need to know also in case there is a reason.

Personable, on time, he emailed me with an estimate a few days later. It was more than what I want to pay at this time.

Just showed up Thursday evening. Claimed they has spoken with me via e-mail. I sent them suggested dates, but no one called to confirm. Nice guy inspected sprinklers. Made suggestions and took notes on suggested repairs. Also took notes and pictures to provide a bid for some small landscaping repairs. To date, I have not received a bid for sprinkler repairs or landscaping fixes. Wondering if they got more business than they can handle with their Angie's list coupon.

If you don't want to read through the all the details, just know that I highly recommend Sean and Southern Landscape Solutions! I will hire him again, too!! I had several companies bid, but Sean's was the most detailed and professional that I received! I appreciated the bid as it broke down all the costs. Many other companies were vague in what materials they were using. I like knowing what you'e using and how much each of what you're using is going to cost. My yard was an embarrassment before Sean and his crews took over. I can't begin to tell you how horrible and neglected it was. I am SO happy with it now, and having an irrigation system is beyond awesome!! I'm hoping to be able to upload some pictures for you, but as I write this I don't see where to do that. I should note, that I chose to put zoysia in vs a cheaper kind of grass due to it's drought tolerance and hardiness. I wanted a lawn that would last forever!! Laid all new irrigation front and back yard, took out all existing lawn/weeds/rocks and whatnot and replaced it with beautiful zoysia! Also, took out "grass" between sidewalk and street and installed crushed granite!! LOVE!! Cleaned out overgrown beds and put down fresh mulch and new plantings. Outlined front beds with metal edging. Back beds were outlined with random rocks found around my property... they did a beautiful job with breaking those up and making a nice edge!! Bottom line: the "lawn" went from pathetic to looking like a model home lawn! It looks like I'm going to list my house.. I'm NOT!!! Lol!! If you hire Sean and his crew you will not be disappointed!!

I got them through Angie’s List. We originally contracted with them last summer but we had to have them hold off until the fall time period to do the landscaping. The landscape crew had covered up several sprinkler heads and had essentially buried them on the rock. I had to get the provider back out to uncover those heads and reposition. The crew should have marked the sprinklers head before they started covering those with rock. That was a problem to me and I conveyed that message back to the provider. They missed a couple of sprinkler heads that they should have accounted for.

First rate experience! After a busy summer when we were unable to keep up with the yards, we had Southern Landscaping Solutions come out to clean things up for us. Sean gave us a very fair estimate and was able to schedule the work quickly (within the same week). His crew was here the better part of the day as we have a fairly large yard with several gardens. The tree trimmers did a fantastic job on our oaks and other trees. Our bushes/ hedges now have an identifiable shape. At our request, Sean came to inspect the work his crew did and answer some questions we had about the work done. Overall, we are very pleased with the quality of work and responsiveness. We will definitely have them back to do more work for us and have already recommended them to others!

Went very smoothly. Workers only worked to insure I was satisfied. Did more than I expected. Superior results.

First off, I'd like to thank all the previous Angie list reviewers, it was mainly due to their reviews that helped me decide to choose SLS. And I couldn't be happier, I am completely satisfied with the completed product! Sean's team was great and did an excellent job. They didn't skimp on materials, design or quality. Sean checked in with me each day as the work was being performed to ensure I was happy and provided me with design ideas based on his experience, which is something I needed. The work was done promptly once they got started and Sean made sure I was completely satisfied before considering the job complete. It turned out exactly how my wife and I had envisioned. Will definitely use again in the future.

Working with Sean was one of the best experiences I could have possibly had. He knows his stuff and I could rely on everything he told me from estimate to advice on the choice of materials and more. In every sense of the word a professional. In addition, I have to complement the crew that did the work. Instead of just "installing" the hardscape, they thought through what they were doing, and when design issues came up, they made sure to consult with me so that it would turn out just right. I was able to add in a couple of extra trellises at the last moment (which was easier said than done, since it required a jackhammer to get through the granite under my soil to set the 4x4s), which put the crowning touch on the whole thing. My ugly duckling backyard is now a paradise of hardscape on which I can let my plant addiction run wild.

Sean reset the system timing to be more efficient and did some minor adjustments. A few days later he sent us an estimate as to the work he thought needed to be done to make the system more efficient. We thought the money for the inspection was well spent and we will certainly use Sean and his company in the future for our sprinkler needs. We have already had a member of his team back for a repair.

Everything was completed within 4 days to our satisfaction. The crew consisted of extremely skilled stone workers who sculpted an amazing patio from flagstone and gravel and decorative stone pathways. Everything is level and permeable and more beautiful than we imagined when we started planning. All drainage problems were addressed and solved. Sean and his crew were a pleasure to work with. Our backyard went from a useless muddy mess to a beautiful outdoor space we can use and enjoy. The results exceeded our expectations and well worth the price.

I contacted Sean with Southern Landscaping to get a quote to replace the landscaping that our builder installed. He came out in a couple of days to assess what we wanted and we had a quote within a couple of days. Knowing that this is a busy time of year, I didn't expect the work to be completed in the near future but Sean had all of the work completed within two weeks, while we were on vacation. When he came out to pick up the check, he re-set the timer on the irrigation system and tested it for no charge. He found a leak in the drip line and repaired it at no charge. I will definitely use him again next year when we tackle the back yard.

I called the company early in their busy season so getting a response took a little longer than I liked but the work was done as scheduled and in a reasonable time. The best service though was provided by Sean, the owner. On his initial visit to scope out the work he diagnosed the valve problem and confirmed it by temporarily rewiring each valve. He then provided a detailed estimate. Others only gave a "not to exceed" estimate. Upon completion by his crew he returned and personally tutored me on operating the system including times required by each zone programming the system and showing me how to adjust heads and rotors. I am very happy with the work and with Sean's personal interest in helping me get the most out of our system.

Good service from the provider. It was easy to set up an appointment for an estimate. The estimate was furnished in writing detailing the scope of work including itemized equipment to be installed and priced. Communication prior to the job was good. I was kept informed of any rain delays and changes to the schedule for the installation. Job was performed as agreed and the crews worked hard to complete the job in one day in order to avoid a conflict with another service provider. The final price was within the estimate that was originally provided. I would recommend this provider to install a sprinkler system.

I have actually used Sean on two separate jobs. First time was to adjust/raise the height of part of the sprinkler heads so that areas of my grass would water better. He was very responsive to my initial call and his crew showed up exactly when they were scheduled to be there. The work was well done and they took plenty of time before leaving to make sure my entire system was working properly. The second and more recent job was to change/install landscaping in my front yard. Sean is extremely pleasant to work with and makes every effort to see that you are getting precisely what you want. Again on this job, Sean and his men arrived when I was told they would be there and had the job completed in the time he estimated. They had to remove some of the existing landscaping as well as both enlarging and creating new flower beds. Sean worked diligently with me on suggesting suitable plants/shrubs/trees and took time on several occasions to answer questions that I had in trying to reach a final plan. He has made a point of following up to make sure everything is doing well and to give advice on the watering schedule. I don't believe that anyone else could have been more professional and patient than Sean was during the entire process. I plan on using him again later in the year for additional landscaping work.

Sean was recommended to me through Charise of Emerald Lawns as their preferred provider for both irrigation and landscaping services. I called Sean and told him that I'm a first-time homeowner and need someone knowledgable to teach me how the sprinkler system works. He came out right on time as we scheduled and walked me through everything. He was very patient, answered all of my questions, and was a real pleasure to work with. I have plenty of landscape work to get done, so I will not hesitate to hire Sean and his crew to bid on the job. He's a smart man and I can tell he cares a lot about the quality of his work. A true professional.

The team was here all day and carried away a lot of debris branches and a few cacti that died. the property looks so much better and after the clean up we were able to see where we have drip irrigation emitters and no plants and a few other holes in the landscape where plants died in the winter. I have decided to use this company for quarterly maintenance of the property and possibly building up the retaining walls.

Sean was very knowledgeable and helpful in setting up the sprinkler system that came with the house. He found some things that need attention and will be back to make the recommended fixes and adjustments.

Sean was absolutely wonderful to work with! He came over and I showed him the well established areas of the yard in which the Asian Jasmine had taken over. I had tried to remove it myself and was not very successful. He indicated this was certainly something they could do. He also asked me what my final game plan was and let me know plants that could work in that area. In less than 48 hours, I had an estimate that contained the removal in several areas are the house, as well as what it would cost to add stones, and 12 plants. Due to budget restraints, we were unable to get the full amount of work done, but did sign up for removal of all areas, as well as laying the landscape fabric so we could add the river rock ourselves later. He was happy just to do that, and actually showed up the next business day to start the project! They were able to use a weed eater, shovels, rakes, and man power to get rid of all the Asian Jasmine. They removed it from a very large section of the front yard, the area in front of our kitchen in garage, the back side of the house where they had to fight with holly bushes, and another larger off the back porch. Once this was removed, they went back with tillers and chopped up all of the roots. They then put out the landscape fabric in the agreed upon front area. This was a big job and they did a phenomenal job. Sean also knew that I planned on added river rocks to other areas and offered to sell me two additional rolls of commercial landscape fabric, as well as the staples so that I could put it down myself. He was phenomenal working with me and assisting me within our budget constraints. He was also very careful and wary of the areas where we had just had a termite treatment (hence the budget constraints) so that the areas were not too disturbed. I would absolutely use Sean and his company again. His communication was spot on, he returned calls and emails immediately, and he was a pleasure to work with. I can't say enough about the customer service! He also specifically listed the plants that can be used to bring color to the shade so that I had my own info to really bring new life into our front yard curb appeal. If I ever have any landscaping needs in the future, he will be the first person I call!!
