8/16/23 "SOS Mechanical A/C" All I got to say it's a rip-off I would advise to stay away, charge me a arm and a leg and refusing to do a breakdown for me on the charges, replace a fan motor that cost $70 and spend less than 30 minutes on the job a total of $741 Service: A/C system repair

I got a couple bids to replace our 17 year old Trane AC systems. I decided to go with SOS Mechanical for a couple reasons. Tom, the sales rep, was great with his presentation and was also great at communicating throughout the whole process. The second reason was that Steve, the owner, came out to carefully look over our situation before they gave us a quote. We have a unique zoning issue and the last company did a pretty funky job addressing it. After the equipment was installed Steve came back out to test the new zoning system and his team spent an extra day tweaking it until Steve was satisfied. We appreciated their creativity in solving our zoning issue, and they did not charge us extra for their extra time and materials. I just wanted to say what a great experience we had with the SOS team. The attention to detail by every person (at one time they had 5 or 6 people here working) exceeded our expectations. And of course we love the new Trane (so quiet) equipment and digital Nexia Thermostats. Well done! We recommend SOS Mechanical to anyone who has AC needs!

I had an exceptional experience working with Tom Perry and their service team. They were all very professional and did a great job of educating me on their process to provide the best possible solution given our circumstances. The install was fast, clean and well orchestrated. I intend to use them for servicing and to replace my other unit when it goes out.

Very knowledgeable, friendly, took time to fully explain everything about our system, and when Allison told me she was going to do something, she followed through and did what she promised. i was given and estimate to replace the ac unit and they came out on time, replaced and then cleaned up. Chris is exceptional with the info he provides and work done.

Problem solved. Third time I've used them, they will be the first ones I call when needed again.

The tech was professional and fixed the problem to my satisfaction.

The technician Chris arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem and blew out the line. He showed me how this problem could be prevented in the future by using our own air compressor and some bleach in the drain line. I was very happy that the problem was so easily fixed. He also ran a diagnostic on the unit as a whole to see if there was any damage from the backup/leak.

Steve Osteen gave me 3 quotes for different replacement packages. After choosing the one I liked, he and Chris replaced my ac in one day. They were very careful with the rug, stairs, walls, etc. My dogs helped them a lot and gave great advice and Chris and his workers were very patient with them. They were respectful, gave advice where needed and have come back twice for the yearly check ups. I would highly recommend them!

Price for part was very excessive. Identical part lists for $30 to $50 on internet sources. SOS Mechanical Heating & Air Conditioning charged $256 less 10% senior discount..

Chris [last name removed] came out to check furnace, because furnace didn't seem to be running properly. He initially recommended we replace entire unit at $6500-$7000. Said circuit board needed to be replaced. We declined total replacement, heat/AC unit 15 years old. Chris got part from his truck, installed part, total time on site less than one hour. Cost 491.00. We checked cost of part online and found part cost at 119.00 with shipping included. Charging 372.00 to cover service call and less than one hour of labor is highway robbery. Called company, talked with Steve, zero customer service skills.

We had a great experience with SOS. They came out same day to provide a quote and walked us thru their entire process. We were able to do zero interest financing for the units thru Trane. They were in our home the following week and the installation went great. From phone call to completion, we had excellent customer service. Would recommend to everyone!

They just came out and replaced a fan motor on warranty. I called late in the afternoon yesterday and it was done in the early afternoon today. I told them it was still working but making a noise. They didn't bump me down because it wasn't an emergency, they took care of me. Chris is the nicest and most knowledgeable and professional AC person I have ever dealt with. Steve knows his stuff and they treat you like a relative instead of a customer. Steve answers the phone for calls long after they close. I love this company.

Great service, prompt calls and arrival on sight. The girl that scheduled our appointment was great. All phone calls promised were very promptly returned (on a Saturday no less) as well as a timely Monday morning scheduling call. Chris the service technician also promptly returned phone calls, showed up on time and did a fantastic job! In my opinion Chris was very honest and very professional. He went out of his way to do a great job. Everything regarding this experience was as great.

It was fine. My husband primarily dealt with them and felt the work went fine.

The serive was fine. They did not find anything wrong. One person comes out and it about forty minutes to get it done. They dont leave a mess. I would say I haven't had any problems with them.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They did a great job. They were quick and very friendly. The A/C seems to be working fine. I would recommend them. I didn't spend any additional. Their price was reasonable.

It turned out pretty good. There were no issues. The tech was very knowledgeable.

He called me within the promised time to let me know he was on the way, and arrived on time as usual. I learn something new every year from him as he explains the complex technical details (hey, I like that sort of thing). He found nothing needing repair or replacement and I'm nearly ready to do this year's pre-season check up.

SOS arrived on time and finished the entire install in one day. They were professional and clean. Since install the AC has performed flawlessly and silently. Not much else to say. I will for sure use them in the future.

They were fine. I think it went well. They were prompt. They had good information about the condition of our A/C.

I told the guy that my furnace runs but doesn't blow warm air and perhaps it simply needs cleaning. He came over, inspected and cleaned the unit. He told me that the circuit board needs replacement which will cost me $ 440.00. I told him that I'll call him back. I did some research in YouTube about bad circuit boards and found out that there's a diagram on the back of the panel cover of the furnace on how to diagnose a circuit aboard. There's a small led in the circuit board that blinks and tells you what's wrong if your furnace is not working. I'm not a licensed electrician/HVAC but simply a handy guy who wants to save money and willing to learn. The diagnostic diagram says that a solid red means a bad circuit board. However, the board makes 4 quick blinks indicating that the thermal limit switch is open. This switch shuts down the furnace when the gas burner assembly overheats. The most common reason why the furnace overheats is a bad heat exchange due to a dirty filter. My furnace automatically resets the switch when it cools down. I turned off the furnace and the gas valve and didn't run it for a few days. Fortunately, I have portable heaters to rely on. I turned on the furnace last week and lo and behold, it's working normally. The first floor of my house is warm and cozy once again. I saved $ 440.00 and learned invaluable lessons on how to trouble shot a furnace and avoid dishonest HVAC technicians.

I am still in the process of having the work completed, but I was very impressed with their response times and estimates of the work that needs to be done.

Another great Angie's List experience. Four days after Christmas, on a Sunday afternoon, at the start of a serious cold snap, the heating went out at one of my rental properties. This particular rental had a family of 4 with two very small children. I was desperate to get the heat back on. I called a service (not on Angie's List) that I knew would come out on a Sunday to conduct the repairs. They responded promptly and quickly diagnosed the problem. Unfortunately, they did not have the gas valve needed to do the repair. They said the part alone was $600 and would take 2 days to procure. With two small children in the home, I couldn't wait two days. I had to do something quick. I looked the part up online and found it was $150 new. I thought about doing the repairs myself but messing with gas lines can be tricky stuff and I am not a licensed contractor. That's when I went to Angie's List and found SOS Mechanical. They arrived on scene within 30 minutes, confirmed the diagnosis, quoted me a price, and had the valve replaced in less than an hour after arrival. Total cost was $200 less than the other vendor wanted just for the part. I was so relieved to have the heat back on for this family. Thanks SOS Heating and Air!!
