Description of Work: Called and spoke with owner Gary on phone and we agreed upon a time for him to come do a bid on siding repair for my house. With no phone call and forty minutes AFTER our scheduled time, a man shows up at my door about 4:10pm (I left work early to meet them -LEAVE spent = $) on a Friday and said Gary could not make it (no apology) and that he would make the estimate. Fine, he was otherwise polite, made his measurements and told me they would call in a couple days with their estimate. It is now eleven days later and no call has come from Noah's Ark Construction; not even a professional courtesy call to say something like, "We're sorry, sir, but we cannot take your job because it's not profitable for us" (another AL biz quoted me less than $1000, their review is forthcoming!): but from Noah's Ark, NOTHING. I would respect such a call. This company's total avoidance of a professional completion on even a bid is the calling card they left behind and is herewith being reported to Angie's Listers. Their failure to call describes to me a lack of committment to their customers and raises into question their honesty that potential customers perhaps should expect similar service from this business. I have no confidence or respect in this sort practice, whatsoever.

Description of Work: We had some water damaged siding replaced on one side of our house. Approximately 150 square ft. The company was prompt to come out and visit, but took a bit longer than expected to get the estimate back to me. I had gotten some quotes from some fly-by nighters on Craigslist that were considerably lower, but I really didn't have confidence in them and it was also important that they be bonded and insured. The reviews I read here gave me that confidence level. As far as workmanship quality goes......Noah's Ark appears to have done a great job. They completed it in two days.....they took care of necessary hidden damage under the siding and it doesn't look like they took any shortcuts. They also cleaned everything up and hauled off the old siding. The new siding looks great and since it is Hardiplank I expect it to last a long time.

Description of Work: Gary and his team installed Hardie siding and then painted it. Their work was excellent, but there were a couple hiccups along the way -- the guys used the fridge in the vacant house to store their lunches, and Gary spilled a soft drink and left a sticky mess on the countertop next to it. Both of these were addressed satisfactorily once we brought them up. The only other bump along the way is that Gary did not caulk along the edges, even though Hardie technical guidance recommends this, and a friend that used another contractor got this done automatically. But again, Gary was responsive -- he explained that there was no way moisture could get in, but when I insisted, he did the job the next day. (I had to pay $400 extra but this didn't bother me, I figure it barely covered the cost of the case of caulk used.) I would easily hire Gary again. His cost was way less than the 2 other bids we got, but his work and our experience was better than the "low bid" type quality that you might expect. Make sure you get a range of bids if doing siding work -- the difference between our high and low bid was nearly $20,000!

Description of Work: Gary and his crew replaced old rotten siding, some rotten framing, some exterior trim wood, and installed ceramic tile. It was a lot of work done at a better price than the other two estimates I got. I would recommend him to anyone.
