He came out to install the unit, to take out the old one and install the new one. My husband was here for that. After the fact, we started find things out that we didn't realize. When they installed the unit, they should have properly sealed the new unit, which they didn't. Where the air intake come in, there should have been two returns instead of one, inside the return area, the whole side of the return was left open to the attic. So basically, since having the unit installed, one side of the house wasn't cooling properly. We made attempts to contact him, and he wouldn't return our phone calls. We contacted American Standard, they contacted him because it was still under warranty, and he still wouldn't return our calls. Earlier this year, I started looking in to it again. I contacted another AC company to come out and look at the issues we were having. They found all these issues. They told me the unit wasn't properly sealed and opened to the attic. Then I became concerned that the AC unit wasn't installed properly. I contacted a different company and they came out in Feb. 2012, and they came out and noted that it needed to be sealed and a second return put in, and also determined the settings on the unit were set wrong. They had to lift out everything that needed to be done related to the AC unit. I put in the second return and sealed it properly which was a big job. We never heard from the other guy again.
Description of Work: He replaced a whole AC unit from him, the furnace the unit on the inside and outside was replaced. A whole heating and A/C system.
