Emerald Lawns

Tthe aeration itself went okay. My negative comments are regarding replies(or lack of replies) to my questions about service. When the guy first came out to my house, I was also given an estimate for further lawn services. I had questions about the types of chemicals used since I have dogs. I was told that the owner would have to call back to answer those questions. I never heard from him. When I called, a rather rude young lady was also not helpful and said she would have someone call me back; again, I never received a call. I would not use this company again because of their unresponsiveness.

He arrived on time, did the job quickly, was professional and courteous. A great experience.

My front lawn was looking pretty sad. I called Emerald Lawns and was promptly scheduled for an analysis. All of my questions and concerns were answered courteously and in depth. Within the week my lawn was treated and fertilized. Ten days later they came by to check on the weeds. Most of the weeds were dying but they went ahead and retreated them at no extra charge. Now, 3 weeks since my initial treatment, the lawn has improved. I have decided to contract with them for yearly lawn care.

We use Emerald Lawns on an annual basis, and are very pleased overall.

They did great work, the price was probably 20% cheap than most of the other companies I contacted (Trugreen, Scotts, Real Green, etc.) and their are locally owned and operated which is a big deal to me. They reps were super courteous and on time, when aerating my yard I asked him to go over a certain part a couple of times and they did it at no extra charge. The other guy that came out to fertilize took time to talk with me and didn't pressure me into extra services that I didn't want. They also didn't try to talk me out of organic services which alot of other companies do.

I hired Emerald Lawns about 16 months ago lawn fertilization and weed treatment. I spent close to $750.00 with them over that period and still have a serious weed issue. They did come out on 4 occasions free of charge to retreat. But it was like pulling teeth to get them to do this. However they NEVER resolved my weed issue.

I would use their services again in the future.

They are excellent. They always address my questions. They also are willing to address any problem I might have.

Emerald came out early in the morning and performed these services and attached the invoice to the door! I can already see a difference in the lawn! We have had a horrible drought here in Texas, and I thought my lawn was dead. Emerald has fertilized it regularly and provided tips that I have been following. These people are amazing, very polite on the phone and always on schedule! I will continue to use them in the future!! I was very please with the cost of the service as well. Works well within my budget!!

The only complaint I have is that once I made the initial phone call to schedule service, I was told that someone would get back to me within a week but I waited more than 2 weeks before I had to give in and call them back and force their hand into coming over to my house and doing the work. I am sure part of the reason was that it was a very busy time for them with everyone wanting the same service. But then, as a paying customer, that was unacceptable to me. However, in the end I was very pleased with a job well done.

They are good about calling and letting you know they are coming. I did not however, see any improvements with my lawn. They accidentally cut my cable line while poking holes in the yard.

I've been using Emerald Lawns for two years or more. I haven't traded for a different company because I'm satisfied with every aspect of Emerald Lawn. They have so many good reviews I almost hesitated to write yet another one... but hey... if they're good... they're good. Their prices are reasonable and the service is top notch.

Emerald lawns personnel were very nice. They evaluated our lawn and recommend what was needed but didnt give me a sales pitch for things that I do not need or want. THey gave very reasonable prices. I had them do core aeration on my lawn and they did a good job overall. I definitely recommend them.

I think they are a pretty knowledgeable workforce. That’s what had me sign up with them.

I originally had planned to have two company come out and give me a bid for this job until I found the Angie's List coupon for $50. Emerald Lawns came out and did a yard assessment which didn't require me to be home which was nice. After the assessment, I purchased the coupon and called Emerald Lawns to schedule service. I was originally told service would be preformed in 1-2 weeks but it was actually just a few days. They did a great job with the service.

They were quick to contact me after my initial call. The work was done relatively soon thereafter, though I was not home at the time. I thought it was a good deal for the work, and I would hire them again for a similar project.

John and his crew arrived bright and early and got right to work. They used TWO automatic top dressing/ compost applicators, and it only took them about 45 minutes to top dress my whole yard with about 1/4 inch of dillo dirt mix. These new compost applicator machines are awesome!!! Sure beats the old days of dumping a load of dirt in your driveway, shoveling it into a wheelbarrow, then applying it one shovel at a time. I figure it would have cost me half as much for material, and the other half was money well spent to keep my back healthy! John's crew was uniformed and very professional, and they cleaned up all the overspill on my driveway. I am going to cancel my TruGreen service and go with Emerald.

Overall, it has been an outstanding experience. For the first treatment, I saw them park out front. Gary was surprised that I opened the door before he got there. I explained I did not want him ringing the bell because my grandson was upstairs sleeping. The second time he showed up, ten days later, I was not expecting him but he remembered the comment from his first visit and knocked rather than ring the bell. I was very surprised and pleased. The team that did the aeration also arrived at the estimated time and did a professional job. Everyone I have spoken with from Emerald has been the consummate professional. Thanks Jim Green

JB & his crew did above and beyond what was expected. We will definitely use them again. Luke is fantastic to work with and they always do what they say they are going to do.

They came very early. They did a great job. They kept me in the loop at all times. They let me know about some wires in the ground that I did not know about. I liked them, I would happily recommend them.

The crew arrived on time with 2 core aerators and got right to work. They were done in about 30-45 minutes. It appeared the lawn was properly aerated, and I could see the soil plugs on top of the grass. I was happy with the service, and I will be considering them for lawn fertilization and pest mgmt services.

October 6, 2011: Initially we were pleased with Emerald Lawn's service. The lawn was green and thriving. During the summer I mentioned to the service representative that bald spots were appearing in the lawn. I had attempted to encourage growth with dillo dirt and other products which had worked in the past. The representative said that there was too much ground cover on the spots and to remove it. He said within a month it should grow back. If not, he would take further action. The grass did not grow back, more bald spots appeared and the grass was turning brown. The heat and drought were not the cause. Two months later when I asked again what is the problem I was told I had the lawn mower set too high. This is one year after they have been taking care of the lawn. I was also told I may have Bermuda mites. I would have thought the mites would have been discovered when I first complained. Other lawns serviced by Scotts in our neighborhood were green and thriving. In October 2011, we terminated Emerald Lawn's service. We have decided to xeriscape the lawn and flower beds because of the continuing drought and long term weather forecasts. January 7, 2012 As an update, Luke called me after he received a notice from Angie's List about the poor rating we gave him. He apologized for the poor performance of his crew stating that there were personnel problems that contributed to the poor performance. He said he was unaware of the severity of the problem and his staff was not keeping him informed. He refunded the three most recent treatments to make amends. I accepted the offer and thanked him for contacting me. I believe that this is more than what most businesses would do.
