He did everything to figure out what was wrong with it. He did it while I was there and it was not repairable for the cost. He also sold me another mower for a good price, so I could get my yard mowed. I was very pleased when I left and definitely have recommended him to my friends.

Dave did the assessment in about 10 minutes of what was wrong with my newish mower that I'd bought used. Turns out old gas sitting in a new mower does real damage, especially if it evaporates. Fortunately, Dave was able to repair and reverse the damage without any major expense for new parts. Contacted him at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and he had the work done by 10:30 a.m. the following morning (after a 9:00 a.m. dropoff). He is exactly the kind of pro I was expecting from the other Angie's List reviews. If you must, drive farther to use Dave to a) give you an honest assessment of your mower's repair requirements and b) do an excellent repair job for a fair price in an extremely timely manner. I have been going to Dave for years now. He is the ultimate professional. He does great work, explains things to you and gives you options. I would highly recommend you use Dave!

Dave got on the project immediately - replaced spark plug, cleaned carburetor, changed oil, and sharpened blade. He tested the lawn mower before and after his services. It took him about 1/2 hour. Very thorough and reasonably priced. I will use him again. Thanks, Dave

Wonderful. Replaced the battery, changed the oil and did some other maintenance.

He examined the lawn mower and went into great detail about what needed to be done and whether it was worth doing. He also made recommendations about what mower to buy if I didn't get it repaired. All this was free. The quote for fixing a carburetor, replacing the pull cord, sharpening the blades, and general cleaning was a bit over $100. Tried to submit this before. Not sure successful.

Never gave him my service, because he was so unnecessarily rude over the phone when I called him, to inquire about getting my mower repaired. This person will never get my business!

Very personable and service oriented Repair was assessed when I dropped the lawnmower off. New belt had to be ordered and shipment delay caused a few days slippage on the original completion date--but I was notified as soon as the shipment issue occurred. The job was completed the day after the new belt arrived. I definitely would use Dave's Cycles again and I give it a high recommendation.

Provided overview on finding of both mowers. First one had bent shaft and the blade was mounted upside down!. Second one was serviced, blade sharpened, new plug, air filter and fresh oil. Offered to lower price as first unit bent shaft was found after I dropped off. Billed under $80 and returned both units (same model so parts can be used on good unit). Paid what the service was worth over $100 to keep this tradesman a place I can return for a honest fast small engine service. Helpded load and secure both mowers on my small utility trailer, Disabled Vet who doesn't feel I need special accommodation.

Took a quick look and told me what was wrong (broken belt). Also sharpened the blades and cleaned the air filter. All work done within 10 minutes of arrival.

Dave is awesome. He is very to the point and no BS. He really is very easy to get ahold of and very responsive. It is a small shop to it is a very personal experience. He explained every to me and how to take care of my lawn mower in the future. You would be wasting your time if you go to anyone else.

Dave greeted us immediately after we arrived and helped unload the mower. He asked for a brief history of the mower and what was wrong, then did some simple checks. Right away he spotted several problems which, in his opinion, made the cost of repair not be worthwhile. He then spent time with us talking about buying our next mower -- what model and features we should look for and what to stay away from. VERY professional.

Called Dave and took in my mower. He did a review of the carburetor and gas and determined carb had to be cleaned and new gas obtained. My gas was purchased back in June and had water in it along with additional water from condensation. He took out carb and cleaned it out and I had him do an oil change. In and out in only 2 hours. Not a place you would have to go to very often and I appreciate he is in business and could handle this small job in a few hours.

Dave is really fast and really honest. He also gives you recommendations on how to avoid problems with your vehicles and he helped me load the vehicle back on the trailer plus he knows a lot about horses. He did a great job plus trying to find something that will work on this utility vehicle is darn near impossible and Dave did a good job at a good price.

Went by the shop late afternoon (around 4pm). He reviewed and stated it was nearly 100% it was build up from gas. He quoted the price and that it would be ready the next day. I was expecting a couple of days so I was extremely pleased with the 1 day turnaround. He called me the next morning around 10:30am and said it was done and ready to go. So < 1 day turnaround. I've had similar work done elsewhere in Austin at much bigger facilities but never got anything back < 7 days. I'm only going to deal all my lawn more issues at Dave's from now on. IT clearly states Cash/CHECK only - so be aware. No issue with that because a small business owner dealing with credit card companies eating into profits is a killer...

Dave is one of those guys that you meet and immediately trust that you are going to receive a quality job at a fair price. I dropped off my lawnmower that had been running poorly and was not able to pull start without using starting fluid. Dave gave me an estimate and informed me that it would probably be ready for pick up the next day and he would call me with an update. Dave called me the following day to notify me that the mower was ready for pick up and the cost was lower than the original estimate. The mower now starts with one pull and it is running better than when is purchased new. Support this local small business owner and operator, you will not be disappointed.

GREAT!!! Simply put Dave is a gem! I purchased a Honda as part of an estate sale in the Fall and went to put gas in it, opened the fuel like and all the gas came running out. I took it to Dave's and simply put, no nonsense, he advised up front he would let me know if it will be repairable or if a new carburetor would be needed on Tuesday (4/1). As stated, I got a call on Tuesday that the carburetor would need to be replaced and he's located one, total cased parts and labor to include blade sharpening and oil change around $130. I got a follow-up call from Dave on Thursday, 4/3 advising the mower as ready for pick-up. Great experience with very transparent, credible, small business owner with volumes of knowledge for both cycles and mowers. I picked my mower up on 4/5 and dropped another one I decided to started with old gas, he was able to actually repair same day and gave me a call within a couple of hours. I called Dave and talked with him about the riding lawn tractor I have and he said to bring it over and he would look at it and let me know if he thought it was worth investing any money in to it. I took the mower to Round Rock and Dave looked at it and he told me that he thought it was worth fixing and he would call me if he found anything else other that what we discussed. Dave called me about 2 days later and told me what else he had found and the approximate cost and I told him to go ahead with the repairs. When I picked the mower up it sounded a lot better and what little I have used it since bringing it back home it has worked great.

Replaced damaged blade and spring service (cleaned carb, air filter, oil change). Perfect experience. Dave knows his stuff and is happy to show his expertise.
