I've never experienced a more incompetent group of people in my life. The wrong amount of tiles were ordered, then the workers didn't show-up when they were supposed to and/or would show-up without any warning. The price of the project kept increasing each time they "uncovered" something new - and the end result is a shower that needs to be completely gutted and re-done. They improperly installed the tiles everywhere. You can run your hand across the wall and hit several tiles that are flush at the top but sticking out at the bottom. The cut of the tile is off, the floor is uneven, the wall they built is crooked - and they never even installed the glass in the windows of the wall they created. (although they did try to get me to pay the last bill) I ended up suing - and winning - against this company. I have judgments in Travis and Williamson counties. This project started in 2014 and this company fails to live up to any moral standard of fixing their mess. James is a great talker, but everything ends there. Strongly advise you to look elsewhere. I have pictures if anyone would like to see them.
Description of Work: The provider gutted my walk-in shower to fix a leak in the shower pan. Given it was a full tile shower, we had to replace the shower pan, the shower floor, the shower walls, and the drywall that was damaged underneath.

Capitol of Texas Contracting (COTC) left us a death-trap situation that we paid $9,000 for. We have photos and emails of all of this below. The following numbered items detail his bad contracting. From November 2013 to March 2014 COTC renovated our master bathroom. 1. The renovation lasted much longer than expected. It was supposed to take a month but actually took 4. There were many occasions when James Wade (owner & contractor) would not show up to work without any notice. 2. The spacing on the floor tile is 1/2?. It should have been 1/8?. The grout lines are huge. 3. James did not follow the emailed, printed and discussed manufacturing directions on sealing expensive, Moroccan cement tile. The result was that the grout stained the tile and James tried to fix it by sanding off the top layer. $1400 of tile ruined. 4. Three months after the job was finished, tiles on the walk-in shower curb started to raise and water was seeping from inside to outside of the shower via the broken grout. We asked him to come and look at it, which didn't happen until months later in November 2015. He agreed to fix it and had the glass taken down and the curb tiles removed. 5. James never returned to finish the job. We called him and texted him for a month. He didn't respond until we sent him a formal demand letter warning of taking him to small claims court. At that point, we had already met 3 other contractors to finish his work. They all agreed that the shower was never properly waterproofed. The curb was not up to code and the drain was not properly installed. They all recommended a complete redo because they could make no guarantees about the work. It turns out they were all right. We hired a new contractor and did demolition taking things down to the studs. This is where we discovered James' truly terrible work. 6. The 200lb. shower glass doors were only installed into the sheetrock. There was no framing/stud behind it. We determined that the doors had been sagging, causing the tiles to buckle and raise. This glass door could have fallen and killed us. 7. The entire shower had no shower pan. He used hydroban instead, but it was not applied thickly enough to keep water out. As the tile buckled under the weight of the door, it peeled the liquid barrier off the wooden curb (there was no cement board) and caused it to turn black and swell. 8. The tub drain was not properly changed to a shower drain. We even found remains of pieces that had fallen into the drain from James' work. 9. The toilet was never installed properly. The toilet flange was not secured to the floor. This entire ordeal has taken months and thousands of dollars away from us. We did not have a functional master bathroom for a total of 8 months due to his work and having to redo his work.
Description of Work: We hired COTC to renovate our master bathroom and then later asked him back to fix tiles that were popping up.

They responded quickly and the person who viewed the project room was quick and professional. The issues occurred on the call back, and I was explaining to the owner/GM that we wished to keep one of the doors that was already in the closet as the main door to the new walk-in. The GM responded that using original doors was highly problematic and that they preferred to use pre-hung doors. I mentioned that the reason we wished to use the original doors was because those same doors and door styles were used all over the house, and we wished to keep everything consistent. His response was a flat refusal to do so, without ever bothering to personally look at the door in question or the hanging system. He directly stated "We will build the wall and frame the door, and if you wish to hang anything other than preframed and prehung doors you may do so." I would say the main reason that people use general contractors is to do the one-stop shopping. Further, I am glad that they seemingly have enough business to tell me to pound sand over their insistence to install pre-hung doors or nothing. One would think that at some point they will understand that that attitude of essentially telling the customer that they have to do it the easiest way possible or they will refuse to do it tends to get the prospective customer at least a tad irritated. Further, that attitude does not indicate anything more than an ability to do more than just a low cost, easiest solution possible. Needless to say I found that attitude to pound sand over that detail more than irritating, I found it rather disrespectful of the needs and wants of the customer. Again, needless to say, I did not hire them, nor would I recommend dealing with them, since they made no attempt whatsoever to deal with this issue in any constructive or creative way.
Description of Work: Asked the provider to quote out a remodel job for a walk-in closet and a refloor
