The work that was done was excellent, I cannot say enough about that. The contractors were punctual, professional, and did very good work. The bathroom looks amazing. HOWEVER, I was overall very frustrated and unhappy with my experience with Alex. There were multiple miscommunications between him and the contractors which resulted in work having to be redone, miscommunications with me (where my project was getting confused with others when he was talking with me which was VERY worrisome, where I would leave instructions for the house that were not followed, etc), and I felt like many times throughout the project, I was given unrealistic timelines. I know the unexpected can happen which can push out timelines. However, when I am told from the start my project is estimated to take 4 to 6 weeks, and it ends up taking over 5 months, I am not happy. Especially when I continually follow up with Alex on timeline throughout the project, and I am continuously told unrealistic timelines. Maybe this is because he is getting my project confused with others again? Maybe he is overextending himself and the capacity of his business? Maybe this is acceptable to him? Either way, it is not acceptable to me, as a customer. Like I said, the work done is immaculate. But I can't help feel like my project was not as high on his list of importance, when every project he takes on should be as a business owner. I will say in the end, he knew I was unhappy and took some of the "extra" costs off. However, I feel an obligation to still write this review for others who may have had / will have a similar experience.

These guys are great . My job required a 900 square foot foundation and what an amazing job they did. Ramone the foundation engineer was a genius who loves his job and is extremely methodical . Not the fastest worker but a professional. I would use these guys again even knowing that it will take longer `than expected.

They did beautiful work, and we are very pleased with the quality and attention to detail; very fine craftsmanship; the kitchen looks great and is what we wanted. They even went the extra mile when doing the finish out and cleaned up very well at the end. Thank you!

I'm extremely happy with the final product in terms of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality. The project took a few weeks longer than I anticipated which was likely a combination of an unrealistic expectation on my part and the project evolving to become more of a workload. Alex takes a lot of pride in making sure his customers are happy with his work and I think it shows with the final product. Even when I may have hounded him a bit too much, he was always polite and willing to listen to my input and make the appropriate changes to keep me happy. Overall, I'm satisfied with the project and in the event of future remodeling plans, would reach out to him again.

I called Alex that I needed to have some cracks on the wood post of mother's porch re-caulked and paint as cracks started to show on the two front wood posts. He said that occurs in very hot temperature during summer which is a common occurrence. He recommended to wait until after August after it cools down. So I called and responded promptly and he had one of his technicians come by and do the work. He sent me pictures after the work was done. And didn't even charge me for the visit since the porch was built by his crew within the year. I really do appreciate Alex's friendly response and follow up work that was done. Thank you again the front porch is beautiful and Mom loves it!

We contacted Alex to get a bid on enclosing a room and adding an interior door. He arrived on time and gave us his recommendation. During our conversation, I told him of other work we planned for the house and he informed me that his company could handle all of the projects on our list. I showed him our walk-in shower which had leaked into the wall at some point. He explained in detail how they would build it from the ground up which would eliminate the chance of that happening again. He also addressed the water damage to the sheetrock adjacent to the shower. We have 2 baths in our home and we had budgeted for just the master as that was the one with the water leakage issue. He suggested doing both bathrooms since the workers would already be on site and it was in desperate need of a make over. Alex and his crew did all of the work we had on our original wish list plus the second bath and room enclosure for an incredibly reasonable price. He is an expert in all of the areas and hires the best guys to work for him. The flooring turned out beautifully but I think my favorite make transformation was in the kitchen. His crew helped us select a tile and backsplash. They have seen hundreds of houses and we highly valued their opinion. They helped with the design that makes our kitchen the focal point of our home. We couldn't be happier with the results. Alex was alway attentive and addressed any issues that came up, and they did come up. We had some problems along the way, as we expected, but Alex always remedied them in a timely manner to our satisfaction. He wanted us to be happy with the end result and we certainly were. I highly recommend Blaker Restorations to anyone who has a large or small project or just wants to see what is possible in their home. Alex takes a personal interest in each project and considers his clients to be part of his family. He is a good guy who takes pride in his work and the work of those who work for him. Our satisfaction was always his first priority and I always felt that he would do whatever it took to resolve any problems that may arise. We can't ask for more than that from a company. Our project took a while and I can honestly say that I miss working with Alex. He will certainly be the first one we call with future projects.

The work men were very skilled we had some difficult problems for them to solve but they did an excellent job. . They fixed all the wood rot and did a very professional paint job although scheduling did not quite go the way we thought. The best thing was that I kept changing my mind about the front door color but Alex Blaker sent back the paint guys until I was happy with the result. Alex is wonderful because get gets back to you immediately either through text or call. You can contact him anytime and know you will get a quick response. The workmen are very pleasant and helpful. He has a great crew working with him. I can definitively recommend Blaker Restorations.

Wonderful. Alex came out and measured the area, discussed what we wanted and had us a bid the same day. he guaranteed the quality of the cedar pickets and the time-frame in which the job would be completed in. His crew showed up and got to work on demolishing the old fence, got all the old out made sure no scrapes were left behind. They were meticulous at setting the new steel posts to ensure perfect and took their time setting the new pickets to make sure we ended up with a beautiful end product. I will use Blaker for many other projects in my home. He did exactly as he said he would do, on the time line he said he would do it.

Very happy with the results. Alex hires good subs who know their stuff. Tomas is a master with a paint sprayer! I was able to get a good discount with Blaker Restorations spring sale and the Angie's list discount. Be sure to get as much detail as you need in writing at point of sale to avoid confusion. That being said, Alex responds promptly to texts when questions arise, and calls or comes by if there is urgency or complexity. He also follows up regularly to check work himself and to insure the client is happy with results. The job took longer than expected which seems to be typical of the industry, and there were a couple of scheduling snags, but Alex put forth consistent effort to get good guys on the job to get it done both well and as quickly as possible.

It's odd how difficult it can be to find a service provider interested in taking your business, let alone willing to perform the work and able to deliver. Alex shines here as an example of how providers should work. He's interested, he makes himself available, he's open to special considerations, and the work was great. Alex was solid from start to finish and made the remodel as painless and frictionless as possible. The crews worked in home with a toddler, and they were respectful and considerate when it came to cleanup and noise.

Alex is a very friendly guy. It is fun to talk and work with him. unfortunately project progress is slow. That is why I gave B on Punctuality. I originally plan to complete the bathroom project with in 30 days. But this seems not going to happen. We signed contract of rebuilding master bath on March 29. The 2nd day Alex brought his crew and started demolition. He completed the demolishing of the vanity, jet tub, floor tiles, shower tiles, and dry wall within 3 days. Excellent! They left the shower base and jet system. He planned to remove them on April 4. But it delayed one week. 4/14 update: Alex said the vanity is in production.. It should be done in 3 weeks. 4/22 update: demolished the shower base, repaired the sub-floor, built shower bench and foot rest. Plumber worked on installation of system. Unfortunately the parts I purchased did not fit. So I reordered another system. 4/29 update: the new shower system arrived. The fiber glass are installed. The plumber is working on shower system installation for 2 evenings. He needs to order some parts. 5/5 update: Parts should arrive on Monday. His plumber should start again on Monday. We will talk about my other projects.

Alex visited with my mother and myself to discuss the design of the front porch. He was very pleasant and showed us pictures of his previous carpentry work. Mom showed him pictures of sample porches from other homes. She wanted a roof and two stone posts, one on each side of the porch. Alex drew a picture of what it would look like and said he could design a porch similar to the pictures that Mom provided to him. Alex came by two times as we asked so that we had an understanding of what the front porch would look like and estimated length of time to complete the job. The crew was very nice with Mom. They completed the job in a timely manner. After completion of the job, the crew came back and power washed the porch to remove paint dust at the request of Mom. The porch entrance looks beautiful and workmanship was excellent. A roof with shingles was installed. I am very impressed with the finished product. The new front porch entrance really transformed the face of the house. Before, the house had a tiny entrance with no character. Mom loves it!

Alex never provided us with an estimate. We reached out twice to see how things were going, and each time he assured us that he was working on providing us with an estimate as soon as possible. It's now 11 days past the deadline he gave us and we haven't heard anything. Maybe Alex is good for smaller jobs, but I wouldn't recommend him for a large scale job with time sensitive deadlines.

I would be hard pressed to overstate my praise for Alex and his team. From the moment I called for a quote, Blaker Restoration demonstrated quintessential professionalism.? The bid was competitive, they arrived when they said they would, the crew was considerate, the job site was kept clean and organized, the materials used were top quality and each member of the crew was a skilled professional. The quality and attention to detail is nothing short of superlative. Every seam, joint, measurement, cut and nail was precise and the attention to even the most minute detail is clearly evident. To limit my review to 5 stars would not convey my satisfaction, as every expectation was exceeded.? I can't think of any other recent consumer experience I've had where I honestly have NOTHING BUT PRAISE.

Alex was friendly, responsive, and made sure the work was done to my satisfaction. His crew completed the work on time and left the job site neat and clean. While it was a little tricky to get initial dates on the calendar due to rain and delays with the door delivery (from another provider), he was willing to work around those changes to complete the door installation.

Blaker Restorations and Remodeling was a great contractor for my remodel. Alex was professional, courteous, detail-oriented and a hands-on contractor. He promptly returned my phone calls and addressed all my concerns (although there weren't many concerns as Alex was on top of the project at all times). The crew were all very competent in their respective skills and performed excellent work. The installation of the new pedestal sink required additional plumbing which was unknown when the job was bid. The replacement of the pocket door was unanticipated, but Alex honored the original quoted price of the contract despite the additional plumbing work and the replacement of the new pocket door. I really appreciated this and felt that Alex went above and beyond to maintain great customer satisfaction. The room looks beautiful and I plan to use Blaker Restoration and Remodeling for another bath remodel. Alex is dedicated to his clients and their satisfaction is a priority for him. I highly recommend Alex and his crew.
