They were just very professional, very knowledgeable. Their prices were just a little bit too high for me. They were very responsive. If their prices were more reasonably I would definitely use them again.

Paul was the reason I chose Barrier over three other companies. He is very knowledgeable and professional in his approach. We ran into an issue with the fence materials delivery but Paul communicated with me constantly. The installation was great.

It went as planned; on time and at projected budget. It was as good a fence installation experience as we could have had.

Their work was quick and efficient. They came out and measured everything, sat down and talked about materials and design, took pictures of everything, and came back with a reasonable estimate. Work was done quickly and the end result is a quiet, wooden privacy gate with nice cedar pickets and a locking mechanism that can't be beat. Some of the requirements I had for the gate scared off some other companies (e.g. salt water pool nearby, sun exposure and water spray), but Mark looked over everything, acknowledged some of the difficulties, and still managed to come up with a functional design that is both strong and beautiful. 6 months into it and there are no issues and everything is working as designed! Because Barrier Fence treated me honestly and do high quality work, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone and will use them again for any other fence/gate work I need done.

Efren came out promptly to make an estimate. He provided the estimate within 2 days. The crew arrived on the scheduled date and completed the installation in 1 day.

I had a terrible time getting bids from fence contractors. When I contacted Barrier, they had a reasonable, competitive quote to me within 48 hours. Their quote also included everything while other quotes I received were in the same price-range but did not include demo of old fence, etc. Jason was super nice and professional. He came out to double check the measurements I gave him (from another bid- and they were wrong), and let me know they would get started the next day! The crew showed up a tad later than expected, but I had planned to be home all day anyway, so it didn't matter. They did impeccable work (impressed my perfectionist Engineer husband!), finished on time, cleaned everything up perfectly. They also didn't run my final payment until I called and told them we were 100% happy. We couldn't be happier and will always refer people to Barrier Fence

We needed several thousand dollars worth of fence replaced with two neighbors. Barrier Fence came over and gave us an estimate. We said it looked good and asked for target date. That was weeks ago and continual attempts to contact them have gone nowhere.

Dean came out on 2/27/13 for an estimate on a new fence. Appeared to be a real nice guy. Explained all that would occur. He said he would get a estimate out to me on 2/28/13. I called and spoke with Dean on 3/1/13 asking about the estimate. He said he would be sending it right over. Sure enough, I go it that the afternoon of 3/1/13 - great! I got a handful of estimates and they were on the higher end, but I liked the use of all cedar products and I thought Dean was a nice guy. On 3/2/13, I emailed Dean asking him to go ahead and get us on the books. On 3/4/13, Dean e-mailed me back saying he would pencil me in and it would be approximately two to three weeks before the work would be performed. This worked out great with my schedule and I advised Dean of such. It's been approximately three weeks and I've called Dean twice, left a message each time, and e-mailed once, and have received NO response as to when the work would be completed. Very unhappy with Dean at Barrier Fence. My advice - DON'T BOTHER! Not sure how these companies survive in Austin, but this is another example of a company who just can't deliver, or choose to only on their terms. For whatever it's worth, you've been warned.

Emailed company for an estimate and set up a date they would come out.. Talked to someone who said they'd come out and measure and give me an estimate and I didn't need to be at home. Two days (Mon/Tue) was mentioned when they would come out but I never heard back from them. I still need a new fence done but I'm now apprehensive about using someone who said they will come out and never showed or contacted me again to let me know what the problem is. There may have been a reasonable explanation but I'm now left to think the worst of the company. Shame because I contacted them because of their good ratings.

Mark, the owner, was wonderful to work with. He was friendly, honest, and responsive throughout our atypical job. A car plowed through our back section of fence at 2:30 am on New Years and ran into one of our trees. The accident took out part of our fence, part of my neighbor’s fence, and a section of fence that we share. There were several complicating factors including trying to coordinate the repairs with our neighbor who speaks limited English and working the driver’s insurance company that was trying to manage a claim between several parties. Mark was patient, calm, and collected throughout the ordeal and even had one of his crewmembers translate for us in Spanish so that we could sort out some confusion with our neighbor. The work was top notch and done quickly. Barrier has won a customer for life. Thanks Mark!

Our dog had tunneled under the fence in our backyard and killed our neighbor's pet chickens. I called Barrier Fence and Dean Harbin, one of Barrier Fence's Project Managers, was at our house within the hour to give me an estimate on a new fence. The price was reasonable and he also came up with an excellent solution for preventing our dog from tunneling under the new fence. His crew came out in no time and completed the work in two days. The fence is beautiful and the crew was very polite & professional and cleaned up after themselves. I am very pleased with this company and would use them again. Dean truly knows his trade!
