Ausco Air came out to troubleshoot a unit where the internal house temp would not drop below 80 all of the sudden in August. Tech gave every reason for the unit not cooling except identifying the real issue. Said it was due to poor insulation, old duct work, dirty filter (although temp would not drop even after replacing filter) etc. They refused to come back and retroubleshoot the unit. A second company came out after giving up with Ausco Air, found the problem with a valve going into coil in 15 minutes and had parts ordered by end of day. Their tech was not knowledgeable in troubleshooting and refused to listen to their customer or send a final report out. Would highly recommend another HVAC company.

Looked at furnace

I have had AUSCO AIR work on my rental and personal home AC several times (repairs and/or general maintenance) over a decade. I always call him first. I called and left a message. That same day Mr Cahill called me back and asked what the problem was. I described the symptoms and he asked a few questions (happened suddenly, over time, overall temperature of AC, last work performed, etc). He said he'd be at my home the next day, we arranged an appt. He called before arriving to let me know he was on his way and to ensure I was at home. He began checking out the unit, inside and out. He tested and eliminated several other potential issues. The unit is more than 10 years old, so he told me that was a possible factor. He ruled out lack of freon, electrical issues, fan motor still functioned properly but warned it was going to need of attention eventually. He determined the capacitor was "fried" and the thermostat was outdated and could be replaced with a more efficient (digital) model. He quoted all of the parts (2) and labor. After I agreed, he completed the work in about 45 minutes. The AC was tested and running again, very cold, in one hour. The whole visit was about 90 minutes.

Another company said that I needed a whole new fan motor and wanted to charge me $500.00. But Ausco Air came in and put in a new capacitor and added freon; my until has been running perfectly. While they were in my house, they also noticed my vents were installed going the wrong direction. Of course they chould have fixed the vents and charge for the service and the time, but instead they suggested having a family member do it since it was an easy fix. This was the second time we used Ausco Air- back in October 2013 they came out to check on my heater. Ausco Air put in a glow coil. I was happy to have my heater up and running for the winter. I was unhappy that the company I had been using for preventative maintenence didn't catch the problem. Ausco Air also gave me a $30.00 senior citizens discount so I only paid $125.00!!! Randy is a very trustworthy person. He has great customer service skills and is super friendly. He offers suggestions and will give you options. I highly recommend him and his company.

The first repair service I called quoted hundreds of dollars (and up to $2700!) and thank goodness I called Mr Cahill to get a second opinion. He arrived when promised and proceeded to work right away. In less than 30 min, he had completed several tests and narrowed down the issues. He patiently explained what he found and what he suggested and why.I was greatful for the savings!

Randy did the work and was very informative and professional. The cost was $125 which was about 20% less than the going rate. About 2 years ago Randy replaced the fan motor at the outside unit and there have been no issues, it works great. I asked him about a preventative maintenace plan, and instead of selling me a plan he told me what maintenance to do to save money. I call him from time to time for AC advice and he directs me without any charge. I will only use Ausco Air for my future AC needs because I have had only positive experiences and I thoroughly trust them. Thanks Randy!
