Description of Work: Tim Pruett, owner, came out very promptly. I had a very nice meeting with him on site. The pricing was great. When I went to set up appointment, I inquired about his insurance and asked him to bring his declaration page when he came out to do the work. This is not unusual to ask... He told me that he let his insurance lapse and was not interested in renewing his insurance. If I did not like this, I could call someone else. Very abrupt. So unlike the person who came out to give me an estimate. His cards and website say that he has insurance. Buyer beware.... he does not!

Description of Work: A large storm the day before damaged several trees on our property including a large portion of a 60 foot spanning red oak. Given the time of year we were very eager to get the trees trimmed and sealed quickly to minimize any chance of attracting bugs carrying oak wilt disease. We called Tim at American Tree Service, reached him on the first call and then discussed what we needed done. He arrived within a few hours to review the damage, provide recommendations, and an estimate. We gave the go ahead and his crew showed up within a couple more hours. Kenny was the crew leader and was very courteous. The crew identified more damage than we had initially seen as they were working within the trees and he very clearly communicated with my wife about our options. They finished up the next day, cleared all the brush including some of my neighbors debris, did a little additional trimming near our house, and even cut up larger pieces for firewood. They did the extra work all for the same price and honored the Angie's List coupon. We've lived in our house for over twenty years and this was the best experience we've ever had with a tree service.

Individuals were professional, friendly, courteous, on time, and did exactly what I asked for. I was impressed during the estimate that I was not pressured to do anything I did not ask for. Description of Work: They removed about 18 ligustrum shrubs along my fence. They were on time and worked quickly and were done in about 2.5 hours. They removed all the bushes, took the chainsaw to the stumps and cut them flush with the ground, and then raked the area. I also saved $25 using the coupon on Angies list.

Description of Work: The owrner is very laid back and gives a quote (just a final number) on the back of his business card. If you want a detailed quote this may not be the company for you. They showed up on time and finished on time. I had to mention to the workers that certain liimbs needed to be removed that they were not going to remove. This was discussed with the owner but not communicated to the workers. They gladly removed the limbs. I suggest being there when the work is being completed. They put their advertising sign in my yard without asking. It is still there 3 days after the job was completed!

Description of Work: I had a huge Ash tree past it's prime that was dropping large branches, ruining landscaping & patio furniture. Tim came out to give me a bid & took one look at the tree & said he didn't want to take this on because of it's size. This tree is over 3 stories tall! HUGE! I was disappointed because of all of the great reviews, but I was very impressed that he was honest. I would much rather have him tell me he didn't want to take it on, than coming out & it not being a good experience. I appreciated his honesty & integrity. He was very professional, punctual, & honest. I wouldn't hesitate to have him come out for bids on smaller jobs in the future. I can't say how his bids are on normal work. He said that if he would do this job, he would charge $4000. That was almost double on another bid & tripled from the co. that I eventually used. He could be very competitive on smaller jobs & i'd be more than glad to give him a chance next time.

Description of Work: Tim arrived propmptly, estimated the cost quickly, and his crew performed beautifully. It took them 2 1/2 days, but we had a lot to do. Two palm trees removed, 4 cedars, a huge row of photineas, on our 1 acre homesite. Honored and paid for our air conditioner service call without questioning. (we believe that a worker accidentally tripped our condenser unit and we had to have a service call).
