Everything went very smoothly. I call him on Friday morning. He came 2 hours later and provided the estimate which was less than I had estimated. The workers came at the appointed time and by Monday afternoon everything was done. He and the crew were exceptional. I could have not asked for any better service. I thought I would be picking up several small limbs (like with another company I used) and I didn't find anything. About 3 days later, my dog found 1 small stick! I will never use another tree service. Thanks Tim!

Had trouble connecting on email, but called and got an immediate response. Made an appointment quickly and they showed up on time. Was quick about deciding estimate and also quick to set up an appointment to do the work. Work was done on time and completely cleaned up afterward.

We selected American Tree Service to trim our trees based on the reviews they have received on Angie's List and from professionalism of the owner. We moved into a 40 year old home with many large oak and magnolia trees. The trees had not been trimmed in about 10 years and were full of dead limbs, twigs and ball moss. I called ATS at 7pm on a Sunday night, expecting to hear back from them the next day. The owner Tim Pruett, Sr. called me back Sunday night within 15 minutes after I left a message and set up an appointment to come out the next morning and discuss the work I wanted done. Tim showed up on time and was very knowledgeable about his craft. He gave me several suggestions about the type of trimming I could have done and prices for each scenario. There was no pressure from him for me to commit to have the work done by his company. I got several other bids over the next few days from different tree trimming companies, but didn't feel as good about those companies as I did about ATS. I called Tim on Thursday and he said they could start Monday morning and it would take about 3 days to complete. He requested a $1,000 deposit before beginning the work, of which I paid to him Monday morning. Tim showed up Monday on time with his crew of 5 - 6 employees. He walked the property with me once again, with his crew, to be sure we all understood what was to be done. They removed a large diseased Magnolia tree, a bad oak tree and a very distressed red bud tree. They also shaped, removed dead branches and twigs, and hand removed what must have been hundreds of mounds of ball moss from the remaining 15 or so large trees. The trunks of the trees, I had them remove, were cut below ground level so there would not be any tripping hazards. They also removed and brought up several large, lower hanging branches that were close to rubbing the roof and sides of my two story house. We had some ground scrub brush that they also removed. Tim did not remain on the job the whole time but he left his very able assistant Charlie in charge and he gladly accepted my questions and suggestions. The work took three full days (in 105 plus degree heat) and Tim and Charlie walked the property with me after they were done to be sure the work was done to my satisfaction. I asked them to remove a rather large low hanging branch over my driveway (that I did not ask to be taken out before) and they gladly did it without charging anything extra. They even offered to haul off some scrap metal I had in the back of my yard, of which I gladly accepted. They did an excellent job of cleaning up my property and left virtually no trash, twigs, or leaves. My wife and I (and the neighbors) couldn't believe the difference the trimming and tree removal made to the attractiveness of our home and lot. The sunlight now reaches the grass and you can actually see the majority of our house. Several of our neighbors have had Tim and his crew trim there trees also. Although American Tree Service was not the cheapest of the bids I received, I am very glad I selected them to do the work. I will not hesitate to use them again when the need arises.

He was very knowledgeable about the task and had several recommendations that I had not considered. The actual work was completed less than a week later in less than 4 hours. They provide an outstanding service that I am very pleased with.

We contacted them through a BIG DEAL event, they came out and gave an estimate, but due to the fires here in Austin, were super busy. They showed up and went right to work about two weeks or so after the estimate was given and did a wonderful job.

I called several days ago, Tim came to the house on Thursday (Sep 8th) to give me a quote on another job (this is still pending). While he was here, I asked Tim to give me a quote on the removal of the three trees. He did so immediatley and told me that his crew could be at my house on Friday morning early. The crew arrived by 8:30 a.m. and went immediately to work. I had to leave for a volunteer commitment before the crew finished. When I returned aabout 3 hours later, the tress had been cut and all the debris removed. I was very satisfied with their work and the prompt response to the task.

Tim gave us an estimate after walking around with me to find out what would work best. I wasn't here during the time that they completed the task but they were here one afternoon and the morning of the next day. They were very thorough. They hauled away the trees, the debris and the yard looks great.

I don't live there yet, so I couldn't be there while Tim's team was doing the job. Based on the recommendations in Angie's List, I felt I could trust Tim to do a good job, and he came through! The yard looks great. They took out about 6 small trees that were interfering with the growth of others. They removed a bunch of dead limbs that needed to go, as well as some that were too close to the house. They cleaned up everything so well you could hardly tell they had been there. Great job...Tim is now my tree guy for any further maintenance I need!

In short, their service was perfect. Clean-up was thorough and they even removed a pile of brush I had stacked up from last winter. Despite the drought and the extreme heat, they were able to be here just a few days after Tim gave me the estimate. There is a lot of limb removal going on in Austin at this time, so I am really glad to have found such a great service. Tim and his crew well deserve their "Super Service Award" on Angie's List.

Overall, it went very well. Initially, there was some issue with the owner, Tim Pruitt, not showing up on time to give me an estimate for the removal of a tree branch that had fallen while I was on vacation. Much to my surprise, Tim had removed an cleared the branch by the time I had woken up the next day, and at no charge. Wow! Talk about fantastic customer service. I was sure that I had chosen the right company, since i already knew that I needed this enormous diseased oak to be taken out, and asap. i couldn't be more correct. Tim Pruitt and his team were fantastic, did not damage any of our yard, and got the job done on time and in budget. Thanks so much American Tree Service! You are our tree company going forward, and we will hire you to plant our new tree as well as take care of the rest of our wonderful trees. : )

Called earlier in the day for a quote and someone stopped by mid afternoon. After a quick assessment said they had a crew leaving another job and could remove the tree that afternoon. Crew removed the tree, cleaned up and were gone in about 2 hours. Everything went well. Not sure I got a great price but since I had a new roof to be installed in a few days I wanted the tree gone (tree had damaged the old roof).

I had contacted a different company the week prior, but they were way too expensive. I did, however, want a company that was insurred/bonded. Tim came out the same day I contacted him for an estimate. He gave me a price I was happy with and scheduled the service in a few days.

How do you spell responsive? Tim from American Tree Service. He's amazing. Called me back within 5 minutes of my call. Came out the next a.m. bright and early to give quote. Fit me in really quickly, appreciated that. Got the job done with his team. I will call him again, no doubt about it. Great service.

Tim answered our call and came out to give us an estimate right away. The work was done within 24 hours of when we called. The price was good and Tim was very easy to work with. All of these trees and branches leaned over our fence and were just 3 to 4 feet away from it, making it difficult to maneuver without damaging our new fence or landscaping. They did a fantastic job! They were careful and only a few small twigs fell. They cut the removed wood even shorter than we had asked, so it will be easy for us to haul to the curb for yard waste recycling. The only negative was that Tim didn't provide a detailed, written quote, but he offered to write one up when requested. Overall, we were extremely happy and would use this company again.

Tim called and then stopped by the house. He quoted a reasonable price we agreed to and work started the next day. The job included removing two dead trees and took an extra day. They trimmed and removed everything by the end of the second day. Our yard looked neat and our trees are beautiful and healthy. I will hire them again in March to trim the Crape Myrtles.

Tim great to work with. Showed him what I needed done and other smaller items. After just walking the yard, was able to give me a very reasonable quote. Service was done in one afternoon, didn't expect them show up so soon after a Holiday. Tree now looks so much better and well trimmed. I can even compare it to my neighbors post oak, big difference. I have no problem using this service again.

They were very prompt, gave me their estimate on the spot, did the work the next day. Cleaned up the whole area

They began work the next day and were very professional. They removed all of the over growth, thinned out and lifted up the big trees, and trimmed off lower growth on the smaller ones. The house and the yeard look so much better now. It is much lighter and the trees look much more attractive. They treated all of the cuts immediately and cleaned up such that you couldn't tell they had been here. I will definitely use them again and would highly recommend them.

We purchased an older home with too many, very old and very large Arizona Ash Trees that were ready to fall at the next big storm and sad looking oak tree with ball moss. The high winds we have had lately caused a large limb from the neighbors ash tree to fall between the houses a week before American Tree Service (ATS) arrived on our property. ATS arrived Thursday afternoon and proceed to cut down two trees in one hour. Wow. They worked fast and it was amazing to watch as they climbed and cut large limbs near the house without any damage to the roof. They returned Friday, Saturday and Monday to finish removing the other trees I had marked, ground all the stumps and removed all the debris. The remaining ash, tallow and the oak trees look so much better having been trimmed and the ball moss removed from the oak. The only evidence that they were on the property are two stacks of wood I asked them to leave and tree dust. They even raked up and removed the stump grindings. Mr. Pruett was easy to talk to. He listened to what I wanted and made some recommendations. Mr. Pruett was on the property supervising his crew for most of the time. He addressed any concerns I had and always returned my calls within the hour. Thank you American Tree Service for making my first professional tree removal a good experience.

Tim came out one night and they took down one tree and trimmed several others the next day. They did a great job and were very prompt. I would use them again and I would highly recommend them.

I had used American Tree Service about two years ago for a major project involving tree work on most of our five acre property. At that time the trees and probably never been cared for and Tim and his crew came in and did a complete, timely, and fairly priced job (see previous review) This time there were several areas that we did not have them take care of previously that we now needed assistance with. I never considered calling anyone else other than American Tree Service based on the job they previously did. I contacted Tim by phone and he came out later that day to do an estimate. The price was very fair (as it was the last time). His crew was able to start the next day. We had them clean up two brushy overgrown areas which were in need of attention. We also had them remove about four medium sized dead trees and several other medium ones that were living but needed to be taken out. A handful of other trees were trimmed up and Tim also walked the whole property and identified several other issues that were were not aware of, but needed attention, which they handled as well. Lastly there were a few areas of limbs and branches that had been piled up over time that we wanted to have hauled away. They were able to complete the job and as previously the work was excellent. There was an area of a few living trees in a horse arena that were obstructing it's use. We had those removed and the stumps were left cut near the ground. I checked most of the work prior to paying and saw this. It probably would have been fine as it was, but I was concerned about a horse catching it's hoof. As I was thinking out loud about this, one of the workers suggested that they would be happy to dig around the stumps a bit and then cut them again so they were further below the ground level. All of Tim's employees have always been very polite and respectful. While I was very happy with the work they did both times, in addition to that they really made me feel as if they were treating my property and the job as if it was their own house and property. In closing my only wish is that Tim and his crew could do every kind of work there is that needs to be hired out. I would never call anyone else.

I called American Tree Service for an estimate on Saturday, May 21, 2011. The owner, Tim Pruett, emailed me the same day, telling me that he had received my request and would call on Monday, May 23, 2011, to set up an appointment that would be mutually convenient. True to his word, Mr. Tim Pruett called me on Monday, May 23, 2011, and we set up an appointment for that day. I had an another appointment for an estimate from another tree service prior to my appointment with Mr. Pruett. The owner of the other company came out and was very pleasant and professional. He gave me what I considered to be a fair price. However, Mr. Pruett told me exactly what large limbs would be removed so that there would be no surprises. He also educated me briefly about our trees and told me why his company would perform certain additional services. The deciding factors for us were the information contained on Angie's List about both companies, especially their responses to reports, and the fact that we were able to wind up with the same cost estimate for both companies. We felt that we were able to get more for our money with American Tree Service. We cannot say enough good things about the crew from American Tree Service that came to do the work. They arrived on time and Mr. Pruett walked them through what needed to be done. They represented the company well in their appearance and demeanor. They got to work immediately and used safety measures to protect themselves and our property. The work they did increased the "curb appeal" of our home and also contributed to the continuing health of our trees. They also cleaned up our yard when they were finished. We would highly recommend this company to anyone needing tree service.

I called Tim, the owner, and he and his foreman came out promptly, walked my property, and we discussed the trees I wanted to have removed. I had already gotten other bids and Tim gave me a price $200 less than previous bids. He did this because I had been a previous customer (once) and also because I mentioned Angie's List. The work was done the following work day. They arrived promptly with about six guys and the foreman. We walked the property a second time to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted. Then they set to work. They worked all day and cleared about ten medium sized cedar trees off my property. Then they cut the branches off the house. At the end of the day, everything was cleaned up and looked great. I will definitely use them again.

Overall it was a great experience. Tim came out, evaluated the situation, consulted with me and gave me a quote. Tree service was done within 5-6 days, which was fine with me. He was sensitive to my concerns regarding nesting birds and did not disturb them. The birds are doing great, my tree looks great. Everything is good. Tim followed up with me after and recommended some things I could do to further protect the tree on my budget.

Found company on Angie's List. E-mailed Tim, he called me back within a few minutes. Agreed to met him that afternoon to get a quote. Arrived in the time frame scheduled. Discussed what I needed done to tree & he also put in his suggestions. Made an appointment for the work to be done the following afternoon. Tim called at the time he was supposed to be there to let me know that they weren't going to be able to trim tree that day, but would be out the following morning. I wasn't home when they showed up the next morning but the tree was trimmed just like we had discussed the yard was cleaned up. They did a great job and really met and exceeded all my expectations.
