They did a really good job. They took down the tree without damaging the rest of the yard, and they cleaned up after themselves.

American Tree does excellent work, they are very friendly and professional, on all occasions, they were there on time, went over the work I wanted done,and wasted no time completing the jobs! I will hire them ANY time I need tree work!!!

We have eight large Oak trees in our yard plus one very large one. The owner came out on time and was very nice. He is an arborist and explained how and why he would trim each tree. He wanted to make sure I understood how they would look after he trimmed them. I appreciated his thoroughness. He made sure he kept in contact with me on the time he could come out and even called me when they had a cancelation and came out earlier which was great. His crew worked so fast I was amazed. They were extremely professional and cleaned up every little branch down to the small sticks in the yard. He was one of the most professional people I have ever employed.

They did a beautiful job and I would use them again in the future.

I phoned and talked with Tim and he was going to come out to give an estimate. A couple days later he called my tenant to say had other work to do and wouldn't get to this for 2 weeks. I tried phoning and could only leave a message. He didn't return my call. I'm very disappointed - at a minimum he could have the courtesy to phone back and at least let me know if he would be getting to it in 2 weeks or not.

They were on time, very quick, did a very professional job, and cleaned up very well afterward. Some of the work involved trimming limbs 30 feet up in the trees. After the heavy winds this week (I am writing this on 2/28/13) we had nothing come down out of the trees, so I guess they did a good job. They are not cheap, but they do excellent work. I will certainly use them in the future.

I was very satisfied with them. They did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves and they were reasonably priced. They arrived on time. They did quite a bit for the money. They were absolutely on time and returned my calls. I would absolutely use them again and I’m going to tell my son about them.

Excellent from quote to job completion!

Oak trees in my front yard were blocking out the sun and killing my grass. Also growing into my house. We had 3 estimates. Two of the companies just quoted boiler plate tree trimming. American Tree Service (Owner and guy who came by is Tim Pruett) came out, looked at my trees and told me what he would do in order to give more light to my lawn and bring the trees back from my house. He didn't just quote a tree trimming - he tried to solve my problem. The recommendations Tim made were a little agressive, so the day he came, my wife and I went outside with the tree service and they were happy to make just a few cuts here and there, then get our opinion, then a few more cuts, then our opinion, until the trees were trimmed absolutely perfectly to our needs. This turned out to be exactly what Tim had originally recommended! The trees are beautiful. We can see our house again. I am going to plant new grass in April. We were very satisfied with the work and American Tree Service is now our "go to " company for any tree cutting.

I had a terrible ash tree in the front yard that grew crazy. It just didn't look good and limbs started to break because they got too long and heavy. He trimmed the tree and my yard looks much better. He also got rid of an old stump I had in my front yard. Thanks I will be calling them back to do my back trees next time.

Provided copy of current insurance policy that fully covered tree services. Arrived timely with a competent crew that was closely supervised while working high up in the tree (above the roof line). Very good at removing debris during the job without damaging lawn, shrubs, etc. Readily agreed to remove most of the second tree for a small fee when we realized it had to be done. Understood our sadness at losing the trees which provided a wonderful habitat for birds etc.

On 01/03 Jim came out to give an estimate to clean up all of our trees & shrubs, grind down a few stumps and remove a dead palm tree. He said they were available to do the work day so we said ok but if we have bad weather to not worry about it until Monday. They promptly showed up today (as planned) and worked all day in the freezing cold (sometimes sleet and rain). Towards the end, Jim did a walk through with us to make sure we were satisified and we pointed out a few minor things (trim a few more branches, etc.) which they quickly took care of. We are of the opinion that American Tree Service does a high quality for a reasonable prices and would recommend to anyone.

It was ok but not what I had requested. I wanted all the branches that were hanging down to be cut and they only managed to cut about half of them. I still ended with some branches that are hanging down.

Easy scheduling - showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. This is very rare these days.

The crew arrived on time and with a crew of at least 5 or more workers chopped up the tree with a chainsaw and had removed all of the debris within 30 mins. The only remnants was the root system otherwise you would have never known a fallen tree had been in my backyard. I was very pleased with the service.

The owner, Tim Pruitt arrived on Saturday at noon for the estimate as we had agreed upon. My husband was very particular about what he wanted. Tim was on time which was helpful as I have a busy schedule. We were quoted a price of $750, but I then mentioned the Angie's list coupon so that dropped it to $725. Tim thought he could have a crew do the work on Monday morning and that they could be there at 8 AM. They were on time. I believe there were six workers and Tim, the owner and another supervisor person showed up. The rest is my husband's notes about the job: 1) Very prompt, showed up on time 2) meticulous clean up 3) careful cutting doing ewxactly what was requested 4) gave good recommentdations for cuts that we thought were difficult5) fully supervised by owner and assistant crew of six 5) always asked us if unsure of what we wanted cut 6) crew was polite, happy, and experienced 7) assured we were satisfied with work before done My recommendation to anyone wanting "trees trimmed" is to be at the site because though the workers might be good, everybody has a different idea about what they want. If they hack too much because no one is there to instruct, the owner will be unhappy, but if they don't hack enough, the owner will be unhappy. We got exactly what we wanted, but my husband took off work to be around. We also had the crew who were going to be cutting inside the house so they could see exactly what "view" we were wanting from the living room windows and the decks. We wanted to be sure we had a good understanding.

I tried to get them to not “lion tail” some trees, but they did not understand that concept. Lion tailing means taking off all the branches and the shoots except at the end of the branch. They ended up lion tailing all my trees. The 3 lives oaks I had were done great, but the other two trees of different types were lion tailed.

I did not use their services because the price seemed too high compared with prior tree cutting services.

they arrived on time. they removed the fungus, but then put cement in the cracks of the two tree trunks. i never asked them to do this. they said it was good for the tree but it looked very unsightly. i called two arborists that came out. both said what he did hasn't been done in 40 years and was actually bad for the tree. they said moisture would get locked in under the cement causing faster decay. i called american tree service immediately and he was apologetic and immediately reimbursed the $250 i paid him. the problem is i still have the cement in the trunks and have to now pay another service to remove it. overall, a very negative experience, and unnecessarily costly now that i have to undo a mistake this company made. i should be asking american tree service to reimburse me for what it is costing me with my new company to correct their mistake. but i will just chalk this off to a lesson learned. i would never use american tree service again.

Tim Pruett is committed. Even while hospitalized, he managed to take my call and had Clay call me back to schedule an estimate. Clay ran about an hour late for the estimate. He walked through the front, back and ditch side of the yard and listened to our concerns and offered his insight. He suggested that the daily rate would be most cost effective since there was an extensive amount of work to be done and we agreed. Both Tim & Clay arrived with the crew of about 6 people the following day at 8AM sharp. After confirming our expectations, Clay walked the crew through to let them know what work was expected to be done and how to prioritize it. The crew worked from 8AM to 5PM (with breaks) over two days. The first day, they got all 5 trees removed down to the stumps, the swing frame removed down to the base, 2 shrubs removed from the back yard, 7 trees completely trimmed and 3 more started in the front yard. On the second day, they removed the rest of the shrubs in the front and ditch side of the yard, finished trimming 10 trees, removed all the roots and stumps for any tree or shrub removed, and removed the concrete base of the swing frame. At the end of each day, Tim and Clay would inspect the work and on the final day, Clay walked through with me to make sure all expectations had been met. We chose American Tree Service because they were insured, were able to remove the stumps of the trees, were able to schedule the project right away, were priced reasonably and were able to finish the job promptly. The only thing I would do differently next time would be to put our expectations in writing to minimize confusion. We are very happy we used them because they did as expected and literally left no trace that they were here. They had hauled all the debris away and I would never had guessed a massive tree had existed in my front yard had I not already known it was once there.

It did not go well. The person who came wanted to do a lot more work for a lot more money. He did not seem interested in doing what I had paid for. It was not enough work ($)?? for him I guess.

.Arrived an hour and fifteen minutes late with no notice. Outrageously high estimate for job requested. I requested to have only one branch cut, this was made clear over the phone and upon arrival. The amount estimated was quoted as a full tree trimming special with no deviation for the job requested.

I had never before done business with American Tree, and selected them based on their Angie's List evaluations, performance awards, geographical proximity, and comparison to other tree services. I called them on Tuesday afternoon after 5:00, and Tim Pruett, the owner, came immediately to estimate the job. Based on our walk-through and easy discussion of what needed to be done to each tree as well as Mr. Pruett's demonstrated knowledge, we were able to agree quickly on the job details and cost estimate. He said they had a space in their schedule and would be available to do the job before the end of the week. Mr. Pruett and his crew were on the job at 8:00 the next morning and finished by 4:00. They did exactly the trim work we had discussed. They also took great care with debris removal over variable terrain to avoid damaging an extensively xeriscaped yard with challenging exit paths. They provided truly excellent service from beginning to end: the team was well coordinated, their tools and resources were more than adequate, they were very courteous and responsive, and left my property very clean. I look forward to using them again, and I also appreciated finding them through Angie's List.

Short story: Tim came out the day I called and gave a competitive quote. A week later I called him back to schedule the work. They were able to come that day to do the work. They arrived early. Tim did another walk though with us, then with his guys. The guys worked hard, even through a rain shower. They cleaned up completely and left no trace that they had ever been there. Except, of course, that the trees look great. I liked that the team put cones over our sprinkler heads, as those get broken even if you look at them wrong. Very thoughtful! Altogether, it was a great job and I will use ATS again.

I had some tree pruning that needed to be done. I purchased a Big Deal and got a reduced price. The crew worked hard and did exactly what I asked. They were very professional.
