Our home sets on a one acre lot and has many oaks and cedar elms. These trees had never been trimmed. I originally contracted for 4 hours but had a pretty good feeling that it would take much more time. Their foreman and I discussed in advance of the work being performed and agreed that I would pay up to an additional 4 hours of work as needed. I'm very satisfied. The crew worked hard, had many technical cuts and did a thoroughly professional job. The yard was raked and blown and now actually looks better than when they started. A lot of trust goes into contracting a tree trimming service. It was the first time that I used Angie's List which highly recommended this business. My trust in both Angie's List and American Tree Service is now confirmed.

Team came out. One of the 3 men group was out but the 2 other guys did a great job and were very quick. Cleaned up and swept afterwards. Would have them come back.

I called to inquire of availablitly and limited hours came out on a sunday to go over what i needed and gqve me a fair quote to do not just trees but the clean out my beds. scheduled for the next day/week. unfortunately he was not there to supervise and they trimmed my beautiful pear tree like a crepe myrtle... not ugly... but deinitely took a 20 year old tree and made it look off. and now where there was good shade there is none. the others were sone well and cannot say how well took care of the bushes and beds. although says is a tree service it seems their real finess is inn the beds as they take things out digging by hand to get at roots ... markedly better than other services have used and would use them for this again.. for that they get an A... for the tree.. a C.. overfall a B

Overall, it went fine. The crew did everything I asked them to do. Everything was cleaned up well. The timing of the work was a little odd (a 2 hour session, but the crew took an hour lunch break right in the middle), but no major complaints. It's bee a couple of months, and the trimmed trees seem to be holding up well.

After a month of failed attempts with other providers (lack of response, no-shows, etc), I contacted American Tree Service. Tim responded immediately to my inquiry, and was out that morning to give an estimate. He was friendly, knowledgable, and very thorough. He spotted even more areas that needed work than I did, resulting in a very comprehensive plan that addressed all the trees on the property. Work was scheduled for the following week. Tim called to confirm the appointment the night before (awesome), and his crew arrived on time and began working immediately. The work was completed quickly and perfectly, and finished in one day. Cleanup was great.

The crew was prompt, courteous, and did everything we agreed was part of the job. In fact they did more, in trimming crepe myrtles away from the house. Three men worked so very hard and did a wonderful job. I give this company my full vote of confidence and will use them again and again!

Tim plus his crew arrived 5 minutes early this afternoon. The heat index was probably about 108 degrees F, but everyone got right to work. Although the trailer had to be sent off and its load dumped shortly after they got here, that driver/worker was back before they all finished up and helped fill up the trailer again with my stuff, then still had to go empty it once through at my place. Since there were also two workers doing work in and on the trees, this meant essentially a crew of three for 2 hours. They were none of them at any time slacking off. They completed all the work requested and did a bit extra, since there was a minor misunderstanding about just where the biggest dead branch was to be cut. Where they did it was actually an improvement over what I'd asked for, though it involved more work for them. In addition, they carted off about half of a pile of limbs and brush I had previously accumulated on my own. They raked up loose wood chips and small branches and carted that off as well. They were careful not to cut living branches off our liveoaks, which are still struggling from effects of an oakwilt attack a few years ago. They also exercised caution in not dropping limbs on our roof. Their work kept them here for 2 hours and 20 minutes, so I definitely got my money's worth. Further, there were more dead limbs to be cut out than I had anticipated, so that the pile of debris that they carted off was about twice as big as expected. I do think is is important for customers taking advantage of one of the 2- or 4-hour deals at $400, $800, etc. to line up plenty of work for the crew to do. My wife and I had at first only suggested two sets of needed tree work, and, now I see how effecinet an operation it is, I think they would probably have only taken the crew about 1 to 1.5 hours. The third set of requested work, that we only added later, was able to be done as well in th etime the fellows were here. My main concern is with the gentlemen's health. I hope they used lots of sunscreen and wish they'd have been in good sunhats. (I thought nothing of working on peoples' trees and yards without precautions when I was young, but later developed skin cancers.) They had water containers with them, but still I think this kind of work in these weather conditions is grueling. All in all, I am very pleased with Tim's operation, likely will use his services again, can recommend them, and encourage folks to have more than enough jobs lined up. They may not get to all of them, but they just might work faster than one expects.

Very well. Tim was exceptionally responsive and flexible. He helped provide me with the info I need to prioritize my requests to get the most out of the time available. Tim and his crew were right on time and went to work right away so not a minute was wasted. Their flexibility and organization made it all a great deal for the price.

I called Tim to give us an estimate on the cost of getting rid of weeds & wild bushes/shrubs on our property. He arrived on time for our appointment & gave me an estimate. Due to the 2 months of non stop rain, our property was covered with weeds up to five feet and more. We need a major clearance as the weeds are closed to the house which brought in loads of spiders, scorpions & insects in our house. We need to get the weeds clean asap. Tim gave us a good estimate & he advised us that there is an 8 hours of works deal with Angie List and he think that would be the best way for us to get our lot clearing. We have his guys came to do the works a couple of days afterward. Tim called us the night before to confirm the date & time for his guys to come do the clearing. Tim was there with his guys & they did a good job of clearing & more. He instructed his guys to clear the patch of grass near the driveway & the bits in the back of the house which was nice because we did not ask him too. He just thought it would be good to give a good clearance since the purpose to do it was to prevent insects & bugs from getting in the house & also give it a nice clean look. I was a little worry in the beginning that they may not finish clearing the weeds from our property with just 8 hours work as we have a very large lot but to my surprise & please that they manage to finish the works but they also do some extra clearing on the patches of grass on the ramp & clearing a bit on the back of the retaining wall as well. Our property now look care for instead of derelict looking. HIs crew were professional & courteous. American Tree Service gave us a good price for the work as they were the third company we call for the estimate. We will definitely use them again.

I would be using them again and again. I would recommend them big time. The owner came out personally and went over with what I wanted and what could be done. I asked him if he would trim the oak tree and I know that it would cost. He said he would call back. When I came home the canopy was exactly like I wanted. Now it's blossoming and full green covered over 2 yards. What they did was they took the big logs and cut them up in one big section and stacked them up like cold wood and there was a lot of it. It was a lot of work. They cleaned up all the debris left me with a fine yard. I would recommend them to my neighbors. They charged me $400 and did $600 worth of work.

Great job, I have a number of large trees which were badly overgrown and needed a lot of pruning, what a difference. They also cleaned up and pruned all other trees on my property, cut the large limbs to stove length and stacked it. The crew raked all lawn areas where work was done, and hauled away all the brush. The crew (about 5) worked for 8 hours, and when they were done the yard looked great, what a difference. It has been about six months since the work was done, and, happy to say, that even with a lot of rain and a number of windstorms where neighbors lost trees and branches, all of ours are fine, with no damage.

Tim's crew members (particularly the two guys that did the cutting) were very quick and thorough and extremely efficient. They were very careful not to damage flower beds under and near the trees and did an amazing job. I would highly recommend them for any tree job, large or small. They are some of the most talented workers I've seen. Tim and all his crew were very professional, friendly and easy to work with.

Tim and his crews were very professional and knowledgeable in their area. He guided me through all the process and took care the communication to his crews. They did a very good job and I am very happy with their work. They did haul the trees and clean up the left over branches from the area. On the other hand, I think the crews finished up the work within 3 hours but I was quoted for 4 hours. Other than that, I am very happy with the service and use them again in the future. After some phone tag, Tim came out and offered a fair estimate for trimming two large trees in the front yard, 5 crepe myrtles that were out of control in the back yard, and removed several hackberries from the back yard, along with trimming the overhanging limbs from the neighbors. They did an excellent job and hauled off all of the waste, leaving much more light and much happier trees behind. We even left town the day they did this, and not another plant was disturbed. I called Tim on Memorial Day weekend on Saturday the day after having our home hit by a mini tornado completely destroying two 30 ft 30 yr. old Ash trees along with the roof of our house. He came by that afternoon, quoted me a fair price and said his guys would be out 8:30 am on Memorial Day to complete the work. With all of the damage in town he asked if I wouldn't mind giving him a 10% deposit ($200) and he would guarantee being first on the list. His guys showed up before 8:30 am and proceeded to carefully and efficiently cut up and remove both trees. They did this through some mild rain and completed by 3:00 that afternoon as another major storm blew in. They cleaned up everything and we are discussing grinding the stumps at a later time. He also stopped back by and wrote me an invoice matching the insurance companies requirements a few days later immediately upon request. They do great work at a good price, are punctual and I would recommend them to anyone. It's hard to find a contractor like Tim and his crew these days!

Tim Pruett came out to my residence in advance of the work, giving me an estimate for the job. On Thursday, 4/16, his crew was here to start work at 10:00 AM. By 11:00 AM they were finished, the branches picked up and loaded on the trailer. The crew worked quietly and efficiently, giving me reassurance that the work was completed in a professional manner.

We purchased a 'Deal' for tree trimming services through Angie's list, $99.00 for $200.00 worth of service. There were no restrictions on the number that could be purchased and used, so we bought four, as we had a large number of cedar trees we wanted removed from our property. The same day as the purchase, I was contacted by owner Tim Pruett, who arrived later that day. We walked the property so I could point out the trees we wanted removed. Now, I'm always nervous when buying anything at a discounted price when I'm not familiar with the service being provided (what does $200.00 worth of tree trimming service look like?), and a company can definitely take advantage of you on this, but Tim was pleasant, thorough, assured me that they could remove all of the trees we wanted gone, and additionally, as we did the walk-around, he pointed out a number of keeper trees that needed trimming in places and said they would also trim those trees at no additional charge. Tim and his crew (about 5 people) arrived two days later, accomplished the tree removals and part of the other trimming and loaded up a large trailer with the trimmings, when he advised they had received a call from a homeowner in the Westlake area whose home was being threatened by wildfires in the area, and asked if they could take their crew to do some emergency brush removal, assuring me they would return ASAP to complete their job with us. As promised, the crew returned the next day to complete the trimming and finish the removal of the limbs and clean up the yard, which was very thorough. They treated the numerous open wounds on the trees they did branch removals on (missed one, but what the heck). We were very impressed with the quality and quantity of the work done and by the integrity of Tim and the company. Our yard looks great and we would definitely use the company again. This review is being done very belatedly, due to my tendency toward mega-procrastination, and I can assure you that my delay in reviewing American Tree Service should have no negative implications regarding this company. They definitely earned every dollar they were paid and then some.

It was the second time I was using this company. Again, they arrived on time, worked very fast and did everything I needed to have done, which was the pruning of five large Oak trees and hauling all the cut offs. I truly consider this the best tree company out there. I will use them again!

I'm a happy repeat customer, having first discovered Tim Pruett's excellent service in 2012 here at angieslist. I sent Tim a message on Friday and he called me on Saturday, offering to come right over for an estimate. We set up the job for Monday. His crew was here almost all day and they did a fantastic job, including a thorough clean-up when they finished. Kenny was the foreman and he was very friendly and easy to work with. Tim Pruett really knows his stuff and his crews are of the highest quality in friendliness and professionalism. I can't imagine using anyone else for this type of job. My front and back yards both look so much better now. I highly recommend this company, and as usual, big thanks to angieslist reviews for never steering me wrong.
