Our HVAC went out, in 100+ weather - we'd had a warranty for over 2 years and never claimed on it. We called and explained the problem and they would send someone out - this took 2 days. First guy (Not a licensed HVAC tech, a handyman) said low freon...they refilled...took nearly a day to get the house down from 100+ to 78. Then 24 hours after it was filled? Died again - called again. He came out again. Said he didn't know (I'd googled it and it's pretty obvious any HVAC that looses 100% of it's freon in 24 hours has serious issues). It took 2 more days for them to agree to sent a licensed tech out (this is day 6 of no AC). He found that it was beyond repair and needed replacement. To cut a really long story short...we had to wait TWO WEEKS to have it fixed. The main reason? because the owner, the only one that could approve replacement, was on holiday and his VM was full. I've never been so angry. When they finally found a new outside unit to fit ours they suggested we just put a whole new system in and we pay half (Seriously I was so enraged I can only laugh about it now). We had to move the family and out pets into a cheap hotel..and this was just after I'd had arm surgery so lugging things back and forth with 1 arm was especially painful and did they offer to compensate? Nope! I wasn't a member of Angie's List at the time but only remembered it now I'm looking to renew and saw this company and just had to make sure no one signs up with them or is under the illusion they are reputable.

Description of Work: denied coverage without having any professional even look at the problem. They simply had a plumber call me and whatever the plumber said made them choose not to cover after a lot of emails and phone calls. The woman whom usually answers the phone is rude and unprofessional. I just bought the house in April and they apparently don't want to cover anything if it is a recent problem and will claim a pre-existing problem. I will follow up with a compliant to BBB. I highly discourage anybody wasting their time or money on this unprofessional company.

AHPS declined four of my clients warranties. I reported them. They didn't cover anything. They refuse to live up to their contractual responsibilities. They will do anything to deny a claim, even if it isn't ethical.
Description of Work: I am a real estate agent and AHPS is suppose to cover all my clients appliances, HVAC, plumbing, etc in their new home.
