Response from Southwest Irrigation Systems
This repair customer had three different serious issues. They had two valves that where bad in front yard, wiring that was cut in many places because it was above ground and a leak under the middle of an oak tree. We replaced the two valves first to get system going. We had to lay wire to controller underground which is a several hour job on the second stop. We did not know how bad the leak under tree was until we ran system with new wire and found a bad leak under the tree trunk. This is a several hour job minimum and could not do work the same day. That is when I got involved. I went out and found the leak and sent a tech the following day to finish repair. I apologized to customer because I understood the her concern with not correcting the problem quick enough and spending more than she wanted. We try to send out the same technician to finish repair but that is not always possible. We did not charge her for any of my time or several hours of the techs time. We always try to be fair and understanding and want to finish the job, Unfortunately, burying and connecting of wire to controller and fixing a leak near the trunk of oak tree are very labor intensive. It was also in one of the busiest times of the year because of the dry hot weather. In the end I am glad she has a workable system and problems where resolved.
