Lane and Jay had the most competent work crew I have ever seen work as a team. They were all competent, friendly and seemed to enjoy working together. The 8 man crew made the 7 hours or so of work come together very quickly. I have never been so delighted with the work of such service professionals!

They did a good job. We found them on Angie's List. It was excellent. We got our money's worth and we got exactly what we wanted.

Lane is extremely knowledgeable and very professional. I went out for bid, getting bids from 4 companies. Hathorn's bid was not the least expensive nor was it the most expensive. I did notice his bid included more detail and encompassed more areas the other companies did not even mention. I liked Lane's knowledge for it was real easy to know he was well versed in building projects and specifically what his company did that made his building projects superior to others. After visiting with him, my comfort level was very high the job would be done very well! Lane kept me up to date through the entire process from the time he ordered the materials from Mueller to when they came in, to when the projected start and approximate finish would be. The end result was better and more impressive than I could imagine! Clean up was superb as well, for the only thing there was the lean to, no trash anywhere! Hathorn did a great job! Prompt, courteous, professional workers. They covered delicate things in the area & cleaned up very well after the work. We are very pleased with the experience. It took a little longer than expected to get the estimate, but once we committed to the job everything went like clockwork. I would use these guys again & recommend them.

Called out on a Wednesday to get a quote on patio repair. He came out same day, which was great, but he said he would have a quote to me in a couple days. I emailed on Saturday asking for the quote. He said he was busy on a job and would get it to me Monday. It is Monday at 5:15 PM and I have still not received a quote. I will not be utilizing this company.

Outside work was excellent; inside work was very slow, taking about a week longer than projected. The crack in the family/dining area ceiling was repaired and then had to be done again as you could see where it had been repaired. Two weeks after the work was complete, the crack was back. I called Mr. Hathorn and asked him to come look at it; he did, but didn't seem happy about it. When he came, he said the house must have shifted. He did not mention this as a possibility before doing the work; he had stated he could fix the crack and it would stay fixed. He finally asked if I wanted him to repair it again, at the same price as it cost the first time. I told him no since his first repair had not lasted, why would I spend more money for no guarantee. I still have the crack. The painting that was done inside the house was also excellent work. The only reason we had the family/dining area ceiling refinished was because we needed the crack fixed and Mr. Hathorn said the original ceiling texture (bubble) would have to be changed, which that was a big expense. So to have spent that money and now we still have a crack, it was very upsetting.

It is a super job, I was happy all the way, I was really pleased, and the price was right.They were polite, they took care of everything and they were real professional. Price was perfect, i was surprised, it was cheap. They were on time, they call ahead of time when they're coming, they were professional all around. I recommend them to everybody.

He did everything he said he would do and more. He was so patient with any changes we had. We were very pleased with him. The people that worked with him were also extremely professional.

Basically I to babysitt them throughout most of the job.

This could not have gone more smoothly. The work crew showed up on time, and got right to work. This was a multiple day project, and each evening the crew cleaned up their work areas for the day. Materials were stacked and tools were corralled in one area at the end of each day. It was nice not tripping over work in progress each evening. The carpentry work was excellent quality and finished quicker than I expected. A smaller group prepped and painted the outside and inside of the house. Again, excellent quality on the paint. The owner, Lane, was at the work site every day making sure everything was going well. He also always had time to chat. I learned that most of his work crew has been with him for at least 8 years, some for over 15. I was also happy that I could communicate with every member of his crew, and each one knew what they were doing. I can't say enough good things about these guys. They will be my first call the next time I need some work done around my house.

He's a great handyman. He stayed on top of everything. He called me in the month of November to follow up with some things that I was concerned about. If I needed anything else done in my home, he'd be the first I'd call.

everything was very well done and on time . Lane Hathorn is one of a kind .The whole team is very clean polite and clean up as they do the work I will use them many more times.....Crews like this are rare and the prices are worth paying for...

Great! Lane was prompt for the estimate. He gave me a quick estimate in spite of a holiday. Then he accomplished the work fast and sooner than promised. The work was excellent. He left everything clean and neat afterwards. Would recommend him to anyone

Hathorn Repair did a very good job. They showed up on time and it cost what they said it was going to cost. It turned out pretty good. They were very neat and clean and picked up after themselves. They were very courteous. They will be returning to seal and protect the deck when we have a few fine days. We had some questions about the wood and whether it had any treatments - we have grandchildren and were worried about splinters. He gave us all the information we needed to have, and he was very prompt in getting back to us with answers to questions he couldn't answer. He went and found the information we needed and called back to tell us the answers to those questions.

We were looking for a remodeling company to do a smallish job for us and later do larger jobs if everything went okay. We have an entry door that we hate and wanted to change out. The frame and sidelights (windows flanking the front door) seemed to be okay, but I worried there was some rotting at the bottom from water exposure. We were told by several people that there was damage but no rotting had taken place yet. We called Hathorn after reading their reviews and feeling impressed by their business. I described the job we wanted done- install new door and stain it and repair the bottom of the sidelights with Hardi plank (we were told by others that that is what you do). The guy immediately informed me that they were a week behind on all their projects and would call me the following week to hopefully get set up for a mid week job. I did not hear from him at all the following week, as I am sure they were busy. I called him on Friday of that week since I had not heard from him and he said "I was planning on calling you Monday. We have been so busy." I understood and told him I would talk to him Monday- he would give me an estimate and we would set a possible date for the work. When I talked to him the following week, he said it would be $450 to install the new door and repair the sidelights (and paint them), and then another $400 for staining the door. I gasped and said that that sounded high. He seemed to insinuate that the trip out to Pearland from Rosenburg was part of the reason for the price. We decided that it was too expensive for us and entertained other remodeling companies. We got a licensed and well-reviewed company to come out this past weekend and he was amazing. We are definitely going with them. He actually said to us "Your sidelights are rotted at the bottom and into the frame. I am glad you did not let the guys that told you that you could repair this do the job. It would have been a big mistake to try to cover this up. It would have lead to real problems. You have to tear it out and replace it. That is a fact and not a matter of opinion." We are happy we did not pay more and get less. The company does sound great, but you have to have a bigger job to make it worth their while, I think. Just my opinion.

I emailed and then lane called me back, promptly. We arranged for him to come out ASAP since water was coming in the house. He and his crew arrived on time and spent the day making the repairs. Great job! I will use him again.

Originally called Lane out for a price quote on our fishing dock. I had a number of jobs that needed repair, but wanted to see how the dock repair went. First off, his price quote for the dock was the best, and his crew came out the following Monday and had the dock completed within 4 hours. I was so impressed with their attention to detail, that I had Lane and his crew stay on to complete the other repairs I needed done. The wife and I highly recommend Lane and his crew for any carpentry and general work that you might need. We already have plans for him to return and paint our deck and cedar siding.

Lane Hathorn is the owner of the business and he is very straightforward and professional. He gave his best price on his initial bid while other bids I received were quick to reduce their price when told their price was higher. I really liked this as it made me feel he was being completely honest with me. His crew consisted of four men besides himself who were all very experienced and capable as well as being very polite. courteous and hard working. The job took a total of 4 1/2 days and the crew arrived on time and ready to go to work each morning although they had to drive from Rosenberg to Kingwood and back daily. I regularly checked the progress and was completely satisfied with everything they did. I would not hesitate to recommend Hathorn Repair to any of my friends and neighbors. I would definitely call them again if I have any other jobs to do.

Excellent experience. I couldn't get most fencing companies to return my call after the hurricane. Even though they are based in Rosenburg and I am in central Houston, Lane came out and gave me an estimate that was significantly lower than the other bid I had. His crew was able to start right away. They showed up on time, worked hard, and did a beautiful job on the fence.
