The owner of this business (ROBERT F BUIS JR) who goes by 'JR' is one of the rudest individuals I have ever encountered in the HVAC business. Avoid this business at all costs - they will not perform the necessary work & they are only interested in shortcuts & overcharging. Awful owner & awful business

service contractors of texas inc .I'm giving a single star because giving a ZERO isn't an option. They were sent via AHS to repair an AC. They charged me $1400, didnt fix the problem and despite being within the 30 day warranty refused to come back and take a look at the AC sighting no-mechanical failure. Per the owner, 85F is a perfectly normal temperature to have inside the house when it is 95F outside (even if the AC is set to 60F and not blowing cold air). May logic RIP.

I got AC valve & freon changed but after few days freon gone and when called they said they can't repair it in very rude manner.

These guys are the best in the business! Hats off to Charlie and Teresa! The installers (Nick, Omar & Joel) were amazing. Professional, neat, timely, and friendly. They replaced my entire AC and were out by noon! I can't say enough about how great they are. Teresa walked me through everything and the installers explained everything to me. If you want the best - call them!

Was assigned Service Contractors Inc by Amer Home Shield for furnace work leading into artic weather (Dec 2022). They mentioned they follow Covid protocol, so we let them know we had a positive test, but was 10 days prior and would wear a mask as a precaution even though we were outside the CDC guidelines of isolation. Tech arrived, not wearing a mask himself, and refused to enter when he saw my wife wearing a mask. Even after explaining, he refused. In a subsequent call with the owner, he proceeded to call my wife a f'ing b*tch b/c she was upset they left us high and dry. We've got 2 little children in the house, so understandably so. The Tech also submitted they completed the work with AHS, then called and lied to AHS saying they are over booked and wouldn't be able to make the visit. I've never encountered such unprofessionalism in my life. For someone to verbally attack a mother is beyond belief. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They do not care about the customer and have no service skills.

The Service Technician was so professional and able to diagnose the problem so quickly, I offered to give him a hug! The entire company was great to work with! They ordered a part and came back the next day as promised. I appreciate SERVICE CONTRACTORS OF TEXAS INC DALLAS

The tech writer showed up on time and was more than knowledgeable. My boyfriend just got out of the hospital and there was no room or time fir the ac to go out. Charlie (the tech) was polite, was proficient with his knowledge of the equipment and was impressive at how quickly he resolved the problem. We’ve lived here since 1989 and have never had such good service from a company. I wish they worked on all appliances. An amazing service call experience! I highly recommend them.

On Sunday July 14 submitted request that AC be checked. From diagnosis it was found that the fuse in the outside panel was blown. The technician did not have the proper fuse so he attempted to fix the issue by placing a smaller fuse panel inside of the original one. After completion the AC did work but the panel bock no longer closed. When I saw this I mention that this is dangerous. Since the electrical panel is outside it is subject to the environment and needs to be closed. The technician stated he would come back in several day to complete the repair. They company failed to keep me informed that they where not planning to complete the repair. When I followed back why they stated the original panel was improperly installed. When I asked for some city code there was none given. Spoke to a supervisor who stated fuse panels should be installed so that they can easily be replaced. When I mentioned about what code put this as a requirement he stated that that is not how he would do it. During call supervisor did not seem concerned that the work currently done may be a hazard since electrical box outside is open the the environment. During the conversation he also had a very defensive tone stating that he could not replace panel without potentially incurring collateral damage to the exterior of the structure. I mentioned that means he is unable to do the work but different from not being properly installed. Since he was assigned by American Home Shield they stated that they defer to the expertise of the company assigned and since the original was stated that it was improperly installed there was nothing they could do. There was $75 paid for the temporary fix. Although the AC was repaired the fact that they are comfortable doing a repair where electrical wire is exposed is a concern. Update 8/9/2013 After submitting report to the BBB the company sent technician to clean up install. After the technician came he was able to adjust the placement of the replacement panel and the box not closes

The "spring check up" was $99.90, which had been done in January for$158.00 and they had also recommended replacing the upstairs system. I have used Service Contractors and AHS since 2006 and they had replaced the other air handler in 2007 at cost to me of $1906. I talked with three or four men in the office about AHS replacing the unit and that I thought $1906 was too high a labor cost in 2007 and that I had paid 158.00 already. So the estimate comes in at $4100 (A/C system $3100 and labor $1000) with AHS providing the air handler. Angies has a special for the same system for $2600. Nice way to treat a 7 year customer of Service Contractors of Texas; pocket $2600 ($1500 plus $900 credit from AHS for the air handler.

2012 review just shows that a good company can get a bad review depending on the circumstances. I did notice in that customer's review, there was no indication that the problem was not fixed, even though she was upset that the service folks did not go into the attic. I used this company several years ago before I was a member of Angie's list and they performed admirably then also. It was cold in Dallas even in late April this time around so I was pleased Service Contractors was able to not only provide same day service but to fix the problem same day as well. I called these folks because of the excellent service provided back in 2010 and they did not disappoint. Fees were a little high but you don't mind paying a little more for this kind of service when there are so many shisters on the market.
