James Imburgia Painting Contractor

I went with that paint contractor because it was right before the holidays and I had to get a bedroom painted quickly in preparation for our house guests. To save time, I just went ahead and accepted his offer. The paint job they did on the bedroom as well the many shelves was absolutely perfect. It was a really good job but it cost $2100 to paint the bedroom and closet. The quality of his work is excellent but he is way overpriced. His little crew was very peasant and Jim is also a pleasant man. I had no problem with that. I paid it because I didn't get a lot of time to get many quotes. So I blame myself, as much as I blame him. We didn't have a confrontation over the price because I needed it done quickly.

Jim came out during the Memorial Day weekend to give us an estimate of the work we wanted done. We needed to have some siding and boards replaced and the exterior of the house painted. He was very thorough and made notes on his estimate about which boards and siding needed to be replaced. We did get 3 different estimates and the prices were very close. Jim automatically gave us his Angie's List discount...that was a nice surprise. After we made our decision we called Jim and he gave us a timeframe of when he would be able to start the work. He actually started the job earlier than we originally talked about. Jim and his crew were at the house at the agreed time and dates. They did a great job and we will definitely call Jim again when we are ready to paint the interior of the house.

Jim and his crew showed up at the date and time we had agreed on. They replaced a number of trim boards also cleaning and preping all the woodwork. Jim had our four doors stripped down and repainted which included our garage door. They also recaulked all our windows. Jim was always on site and had a key to our home, so they could take care of the doors properly. I trusted him due to all the reviews on Angie's list and after contacting a couple of his prior jobs. The completed work was excellent and I would use him again and recommend him to anyone who asks. They were very professional and cleaned up completely when the work was completed.

I contacted Jim for a bid - he priced at $8500 compared to another bid which was $3000 for the same work. All line items on the invoice were the same indicating the same labor would be performed. Would recommend getting other bids before moving forward with Jim.

Jim and his team are great. I have used them twice now for two different exterior painting jobs and I've been very satisfied both times. This time they painted the entire front of my home including some newly built areas, and also sanded, stained and sealed my weather-beaten front door. The door looks better than new! They took their time, carefully prepped the walls and meticulously painted the edges where some brickwork meets a flagstone patio. Last year they stained and sealed several wooden shingle areas on the exterior of my home. That job was very well done as well and has held up well for 15 months now. Also, Jim is a very personable and genuine guy who I enjoy working with. I couldn't be happier with his service. One word of warning though, my experience has been that Jim can be in high demand, so it may be a while before he can get to your job. In my case it was worth the wait.

I had called this contractor to provide an estimate for interior house painting before I moved into the home. On the original call Mr Umbria was very pleasant, said his company always provides good service, on time etc. I was honest with him that I have 3 contractors seeing the house to give me quotes. He wanted to be the last appointment so we planned accordingly and he was told that I did not have possession of the home so keeping day/time to see the house was important. He did not show up at the appointment time and I called him after waiting for about 45 mins. He said he completely 'forgot' the appointment. He gave an off the cuff quote which was almost 10 times higher than the other quotes.

It went very well. We were very pleased with the work and how they handled themselves on the job.

When I had some tree limbs removed, I found damage to the eave of a two-story storage building, Not big damage, but still it was ugly and could possibly lead to leakage. Jim had earlier done some work for me that we were pleased with (a pretty good sized painting job, with some repair work), so we called him again. He fixed this problem at the time he promised, at the reasonable price he had quoted. The damage to the eave was repaired so well that I cannot now tell for certain exactly where it was. If we develop other problems in the future, I will call him again.

Second time to use Mike. When you call, he always responds promptly, and makes appointments to do estimates in reasonable time. The first time we used him, we had a deadline, and he met that without any problem at all. This time, we were flexible, and Mike accommodated the painting in one day. Additionally, he touched up come stained/varnished cabinets in kitchen, for no charge. It included some sanding of a couple of cabinet doors, and varnishing edges of several cabinet doors that just had not been done when we moved in house, 7 years ago. For painting, Mike's work is as close to perfection as possible. We have had another of your member's do small sanding/staining on mahagoney front door, one side, and the cost was $500 for approximately 2 hours work, and we still had to have other door maintenance completed by another firm. The referenced company was Phillip's, and we will NEVER use them again. and...that incident led us to Mike. I just wish Mike did other home maintenance in addition to painting; we would put him on a retainer!

Jim was prompt and professional, and was actually on-site with his three workers for the vast majority of the job. He matched the exterior color perfectly and he and his crew did a very neat and complete job. Very impressed with every facet of the work. I would recommend him wholeheartedly - he obviously has tons of experience and takes pride in his work. His crew was polite and hard-working as well.

Jim returned calls promptly. They are very personable and professional. It was beautiful, neat, & clean work. The important detail of this service was that Jim has is own crew. No sub contracting! He brings his crew with him and stays to work beside them. They come together, the leave together. The work was immaculate. Period. His crew is skillful. I appreciated his honesty regarding times he would arrive.He worked diligently to fit me into his schedule and around my other contracted work. There may be "cheaper" painters, but I wouldn't risk my sanity on it.

Perfect! It's the only way to describe Jim's work. The painting is beautiful. He was finished a day early. His bid was the best value. But there's more: Jim was a patient and helpful expert in selecting colors. He and his crew took pictures of every stick of furniture and artwork so they could be placed back exactly after the room was finished. Courteous, professional and trustworthy. Jim owns the company, and it shows.

Reasonable price, negotiated a bit, but was very professional. Ceilings and some walls ended up being harder to cover than initially expected and I was not charged extra. I would recommend them.

From the initial contact, Mr. Imburgia was responsive and punctual. He and his crew were punctual throughout the project which was completed in three days. Prep work and final project was well done. They carefully moved planters, baskets and items from around the exterior of the house to prep and paint, and much to my delight replaced everything as it was before the start of the project. On the interior they carefully moved and covered everything - then put it all back. I appreciate the responsiveness and quality of this company. I will certainly use them in the future for additional painting projects!

Jim called back quickly, gave us a complete estimate and started the work before schedule. He and his crew were most professional and helpful. Jim is all about exceptional customer service.

Couldn't be happier with Jim and his crew; will absolutely call him again when we need a painter, inside or out. Punctual and professional, very attentive to detail. Paint used was top of the line Sherwin Williams. We have a mahogany front door that was pretty weathered, beforehand we thought it may need to be replaced. Thanks to Jim, it now looks better than when it was brand new -- some neighbors have actually complimented our "new door". We now realize that previous painters (including some of the larger well-known companies) just didn't take the time to do it right. Also painted galvanized flashing etc With past painters it never "stuck". This time it has. The amount of wood repair was substantial. Besides trim here and there that needed work (typical stuff), the chimney's frame and siding was essentially entirely rebuilt (at the top of a high and steep roof). We were quite surprised at the condition of the wood that was taken down; from ground level it looked OK. but up close was a different story. Drywall repair was in the laundry room, where a leak had destroyed part of the wall, from the floor to about two feet up. Jim replaced the wall board and textured/plastered it; I've since pained it. Cleanup was so thorough that there wasn't a single sign of them having been here. An exceptional job from beginning to end, without exception. The quality of work is unmatched. I'm picky when it comes to painters and have used several over the past 16 years; none was called a second time. Up till now I've always done painting myself (when I can...bedrooms etc). I've finally found the one who will get my repeat business.

We called Jim and he was prompt in returning our call for an estimate. When he came he found places to repair that we hadn't seen. He explained what he would do in detail from the preparation work through painting. He then gave us a written quote without pressuring us for the job. We found his price to be fair. So, a few days later we called him and asked to be put on his schedule. He then called and set a date for the job to start and gave us an estimated completion date. Jim arrived on time in a very professional looking truck with his crew and stayed with the project until it was finished. The crew was dressed in clean white clothes and were very professional. Jim helped us choose colors for our front door and the house. We could tell he knew what was appropriate for our architecture. They went right to work and were very neat and orderly with all of their cloth covers, ladders, equipment, paint and cleaning liquids. They power washed the house and spent hours doing preparation work all around the wood. Our house is 45 years old and hadn't been painted in over 10 years. They didn't get any paint on surrounding brick areas, and any of the light fixtures or hardware. They finished on time and the house looked fantastic. In fact the work on our wooden front door made it look like it was a brand new door and really improved the drive up appeal of our house. Jim stuck with the project throughout the job and was always keeping us informed where they were in the process. He communicated with us on various things he found as the job progressed and how he would approach the project. We can say Jim and his crew were very skillful and efficient. We felt Jim was honest and someone we could trust and he was comfortable to be around. My wife and I are happy we found him and intend to use him on any future painting project we have.

Jim did a fantastic job - he was prompt, knowledgeable and professional. He helped me to choose the best product and color to use to stain the wood on the exterior of my home and his team did a great job of applying the product and cleaning up afterward. I got the feeling that it was important to him that I was happy with all aspects of the work. It did take a while from his initial quote until he could start my job (due to weather and his backlog of work) but he was upfront about timing and I'm glad I waited.

Mr. Imburgia arrived timely with his crew. He was present throughout the job to give instructions to his crew. The job was done well and efficiently. We are very happy with how the house looks.

James Imburgia did an excellent job. He arrived on time, brought his crew with him and stayed with them the entire time. Althought James owns the company he was right there spackling and taping while his crew painted. This is one reason why I decided to go with Imburgia Painting. He is one of the rare contractors that stays with his crew the entire time. His crew was friendly and courteous and worked hard. They were done in 1.5 days. They took great care in covering and moving furniture and in reviewing what was to be done each day before they started and did a walk thru with me before leaving each day. I highly recommend them.

The process began when Jim said it would and ended the exact day he said it would. He and his crew were very thorough and conscientious. Would definitely use Jim again!

Jim and his showed up on the date that was promised. They where very professional in every way, covering everything that need to be covered. The crew never rushed through the job. They took six days to complete the job so that everything was perfect. ,

Jim worked along side his crew and every detail was taken care of just like we wanted. Jim worked to be sure we were satisfied with the carpentry repair and it looks great. The paint job looks perfect and we couldn't be happier. The job took three days. All workers were polite and punctual. The clean-up was excellent. We are thinking of doing some interior painting and will definitely use Jim again. We highly recommend Jim Imburgia and his crew.

Jim did an excellent job power washing the house, painting the railings, staining the garage door and shutters and repairing the water damage around some windows indoors. I was given a written estimate and an approximate date when he could start. He arrived on time when work was begun and completed the job in the time he estimated. He and his guys cleaned up after themselves. The house looks great. Jim is a very personable guy, easy to talk to and takes pride in his work. I used him another time earlier this year for some repairs and painting inside and would not hesitate to use him again.
