First, I should start off by stating that we just completed an almost 2 year home remodel. We hired 9 contractors to complete various projects throughout the house. 7 out of 9 completed the work as contracted, and took pride in their work. We are so grateful and have recommended them on multiple occasions to friends. Our pool contractor who remodeled our backyard had a rough go at it with his subcontractors, the experience was terrible, but he acknowledged the mistakes, did everything he could to make it right and he ultimately completed the job, and therefore we would never leave him a bad review. This is actually my first bad review on any contractor; I am writing this, not out of spite, but because I genuinely want to help others avoid feeling the way that we did during the 3 months they were in our home, and for the 10 months we spent in a court battle where we sued Lori and Corby for breach of contract. If I could give zero stars, I would. Hiring Lory and Corby Walker (Kitchen Tune Up Grapevine) for our kitchen remodel was the biggest mistake we've ever made. From start to (a very delayed and disastrous) finish, this contractor demonstrated incompetence, and complete disregard for quality and customer satisfaction. Despite the terrible experience, we just wanted the project completed so that we could move on. We were willing to look past the terrible experience, as long as they completed the work according to the contract. Instead, they refused to resolve the issues, after multiple requests and demand letters. We had no choice but to file a lawsuit. The court ruled in our favor; this says everything you need to know. They actually asked the judge if he would put in the judgement a ban on allowing us to leave a review. KTU should have thought of that when I begged and pleaded with them to make our project right. We did not want to go to court; we just wanted our kitchen completed according to the contract, so that we could move on. We thought we would be protected by hiring an established "company." They are a franchise and have locations across the US. The national cover under the Kitchen Tune Up name, actually doesn’t provide any cover at all. We contacted the Kitchen Tune Up corporate office to help resolve our issues, and they refused to help. They responded that we entered into an contract with an independently, locally owned company and any claims that we had, needed to be directed toward them. Please be aware that you are not getting the backing of a 35+ year old company with franchises across the US. You are entering into a contract with a previous accountant and IT employee, with very little experience in construction. I have talked to other customers who ended up in court and/or disputes with Kitchen Tune Up franchises as well; most signed an NDA where they are not able to talk about their experiences, which explains why you see only the positive reviews on here. I could share the details of our horrible experience that consisted of multiple mistakes, delays, and excuses, but realize that they will only respond with lies, trying to make us appear as an unreasonable customer (similar to what they did to another person who left a negative review.) But 2 facts that can't be debated exist. We sued them for breach of contract and won. And they brought a registered s** offender (charge is related to children) into our home without informing us. This was not only a violation of our trust but also a serious safety concern, especially since we have young children at home; I still get sick when I think about it. This subcontractor did 90% of the work, and was in our home for the entirety of the 3 month project. I can't imagine any mother would be OK with that, and people should be aware of the type of company they are dealing with. Save yourself the headache, money, and time. Do NOT hire Kitchen Tune Up – Grapevine TX. Our kitchen is a constant reminder of this horrible experience, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

We first met with Lori in December 2021. January 2022 demo and construction began. We completely remodeled our kitchen. Design layout and cabinets were finalized and ordered in April. The whole project was completed in December 2022. We raised the ceiling, removed walls, and replaced all our cabinets...basically gutted the kitchen except for the appliances. Our kitchen needed to function as a home office, laundry room, Pre-K homeschool work area, and a kitchen for our large family of 8. Lori, Corbi, Dean, & Ezra were able to make it ALL happen. There were a few challenges, especially for our laundry area, BUT everyone worked together and came up with something beautiful that I absolutely LOVE. Before we chose Kitchen tune-up/Grapevine, we looked into other options. I am so thankful, we decided to go with this amazing team. The team became a part of our family. We even gave them a set of keys so we didn't have to worry about being home while they were working. I HIGHLY recommended using Lori and Corbi. They came up with a functional kitchen, laundry room, home office, peninsula, bench seat with storage, kitchen accessories, and a beautiful entertainment center in our den. We went with Woodbridge Cabinets and absolutely LOVE the durability, quality, and custom options of this cabinet maker. The subbed out work was also outstanding....from the construction contractors, electrician, HVAC guy, plumber, tile contractor, to the Quartz countertops done by Cornerstone.... ALL exceptional. We had challenges. Our home was built in 1970's so things are a little whacky ie no level floors and nothing was square. They all overcame these challenges, did a fantastic job, communicated, cleaned-up, and were professional. Words can not express how greatful we are for this team.

First you will find few negative reviews because they blackmail their unhappy customers. They said it would take 2 weeks to remodel my kitchen. I gave a 50% deposit on February 13th and the last handle was put on August 12th. 6 MONTHS! They didn’t measure my kitchen correctly, so the cabinets didn’t fit, which meant they had to reorder cabinets. Instead of a 36” pantry I got a 24” and was promised “functional”, but because I wouldn’t sign an NDA, which basically said I wouldn’t file a complaint or leave negative feedback, they refused to complete the pantry. Instead of (2) 24” cabinets, I got one 24” and one 9”. That reveals the severity of the mistake. She lied to me, she blackmailed me, and unless I would pay even more money refused to deliver the remaining (most) cabinets. They installed damaged cabinets, so again cabinets had to be removed and reordered (although she thought I would keep the damaged cabinets, due to my desperation to get my kitchen back). They promised a pull out system to utilize the blind corner, but they only installed one pull out and it didn’t even fit. But instead of removing it upon realizing it wouldn’t pull out, they left it thinking they could talk me into letting them take the drawer and cut the cabinet to make it fit (again playing on my desperation). I was so stressed out throughout this project, it caused me health issues. Also, the corporate KTU, will not help. I filed a complaint and, was basically told they can’t do anything, because the franchises are privately owned. Also, check Indeed.com. They aren’t very nice to their employees either. If I have one positive thing to say, the installers were very professional and overall great, but the owners are a nightmare. Am I pleased with my kitchen? Bear in mind the tile, floors, countertops, fixtures, sink, and lighting was all done by my other contractor. So I would say I am fairly happy. But the stress, lies and blackmail I could do without. Do yourself a favor and pass on this contractor. The outcome is not worth the pain. They are not the only company that does cabinets. And remember any company that asks you to sign an NDA is one you should be wary about!

Response from Kitchen Tune-Up Grapevine, TX
[Member Name Removed], we are sorry there were unexpected delays during this renovation. Unfortunately, we were still dealing with material and transportation delays out of our control. Our constant email/text communication with you and the swift corrective measurements we took, were done with the end goal in mind of finishing your remodel and giving you back a beautiful kitchen. We are very proud of our team and our partners who worked diligently on your project. The before/after pics are wonderful to see. It was quite a transformation from raised panel, honey oak to beautiful painted shakers with high stacked glass cabinets as you requested. Thank you for working with us on each decision and signing off on your completed project.

They were a no show after confirming appointment via email. Took off work to wait at home for them and they never showed up. No communication or apology received for this unprofessional behavior. Definitely don't recommend. Red flag for unreliable business for me.
