+ 0 moreTed arrived on time on the date agreed. He brought a brand new stud finder, explained his approach to the work, and asked me to show him how I wanted each grab bar positioned on the shower wall. He was very meticulous and careful with his calculation of where to drill holes for the installation hardware for each bar. In one bathroom, where old construction made it difficult to be certain of the location of studs behind the tile on the shower wall, Ted verified locations shown on the stud finder by using a chalk line. When the work was completed, the grab bars looked great, both ends of each bar were attached to studs behind the tile, and there were no cracked tiles. I am quite pleased.
Description of Work: Ted installed a 24-inch-long, 1.5-inch-diameter stainless steel grab bar in each of the 3 showers in my 34-year-old townhome. We agreed that the safest, most durable long-term installation would be to install each end of each grab bar in a stud. The challenge was finding the studs through the tile in the showers. Ted brought a brand-new stud finder and used it in 2 of the bathrooms. In the third, where old construction made it difficult to be certain exactly where the studs were, Ted verified the location with a chalk line -- a very interesting and effective low-tech tool. Ted was very careful with this work to avoid drilling unnecesssary holes in the tile or to risk cracking a tile. When he completed the work, I was very pleased at the neat appearance of the grab bars, the location of each in the showers, and the fact there was no cracked tile. Installation of a grab bar may seem to some a no-brainer, but with the expectation of having two very elderly relatives in my home for Christmas, it was extremely important to me that the grab bars be in exactly the right place in each shower and that they be installed in advance of my relatives' arrival. I am very pleased with this work.

+ -1 moreI like him; he is an amianble person that you can really communicate with. He seems to be a good guy. The only thing I dislike is that he seems to have a problem with steady help. The guy that he used when he came to do my job seemed like he was just hired that day or just for that job. He was the best price of the three I spoke to. He called me very quickly, he came right out, and he was always here when he said he was going to be.
Description of Work: Ted Wright did some sheet rock repair for me.

I can give Ted the garage and alarm codes, leave the $$$ and list of work to be done on the table and Ted handles everything while I'm at work. It's wonderful to be able to trust someone so much that I dont have to take off work while he's there. If he has any questions, he calls me at work. He's awesome -- and so are his standards, ethics, honesty and concern for his clients.

+ -1 morenothing to base the work on as it was done yet, just upset that vendor did not follow up and contact us with price quote.
Description of Work: This vendor was contacted for price quote, and actually called promptly to set up appointment, and showed up on scheduled date for evaluation of work to be done for price quote. However, the expectation was set by the vendor that I would have a price quote by the end of the week. No one has contacted me to date, and I have made several attempts on my own by leaving voice messages to hear back from the vendor. No response to date. If the vendor is busy that is fine, but at least return the customers calls. If vendor is unable to do the work, at least communicate the customer that the project is too small, or feel they cannot do the work at this time. That allows the customer to choose alternative vendor selection for the work to be done. If the vendor contacts us, I will consider hiring the vendor. I have nothing else other than non response time to base my compliant.

+ 0 moreGREAT! I can't believe how perfect both installations are. He also fixed the unsightly installation that my cable company did previously on a small TV. He always does an ultra-professional job on everything and it's so nice to be able to trust someone with both your cash and your house.
Description of Work: I'm partially disabled and cannot do much walking. I wanted two flat-screen TV's but didn't want the hassle of shopping, getting them home and overseeing installation. Ted did the shopping, found two lovely TV's (46" and 52"), bought them, brought them to my house and installed them on the walls. He did all the hookup, including running the cable line through the attic, hiding all the wiring behind the TV's and moving an electric outlet up behind one TV. He did all this while no one was home; he's so honest that I felt comfortable giving him a key to my house and also giving him the cash to buy the TV's.

+ 1 moreTed returned my call within 24 hours. He was punctual for the initial appointment. He started construction a little over a week later. Ted protected the main living area with plastic tarps, moved furniture out of the living room, and covered exposed bookcases in an effort to reduce as much dust as possible. He also had an assistant cleaning and sweeping up after him. There was a bit of a misunderstanding about the crown work that had to be replaced as a result of removing the ceiling beams. Ted was upfront about not having experience with crown moulding (drywall and paint are his expertise), but offered to patch it without cost. The crown work isn't perfect, but they are not in areas that are noticeable. Ted is an honest and friendly guy, and worked hard to make sure we were satisfied with his work. All in all, we are happy with the work. I rate the price as fair, because I really don't have hard statistics for comparison.
Description of Work: Removed exposed ceiling beams in the living room, patched and floated sheet rock, and painted living room, dining, and office ceilings.

He arrived on a Thursday morning and finished the work the following Friday morning. Ted deserves an A+ for price. He charged lower than anyone else. Ted supplies all materials to do the work. He even replaced the air filters in the air conditioning unit. I didn't have to furnish anything. Because of his work and materials he used, I was able to save a $1000 for odor control in the house. I definitely recommend him. Ted did such a good job that I've asked him to do additional work at the end of the month. He even cleaned the blinds when he finished. He's an excellent worker. Price includes labor and materials. He did a fantastic job. Job 2: Ted did a great job. Work was done in about a day and a half. He had a lot of clean up work that he did, and he also cleaned the drains in my bathtubs. I highly recommend.
Description of Work: Job 1: Ted painted my son's entire interior house, replaced wood around windows in two rooms and repaired a cabinet in the master bathroom.($1900.) Job 2: Ted painted 2 rooms for me.($415.)

+ 8 moreJob 1: He's a perfectionist & treated my house as though it were his own. He's so trustworthy. His taste is incredible & he shopped not only for the best quality & price. He's excellent for small projects. What a relief it wasn't to have to make any decisions or oversee any contractors, & have everything turn out so perfectly! My next project will be a back yard deck & I'm looking forward to his designing & building it later this yr. Job 2: It went great! Several "experts" had told me the Z-brick couldn't be removed by itself--that all the walls would have to be taken down & replaced. However, Ted removed all the Z-brick in a day. Then he replaced large sections of walls that had been damaged by water & repaired cracks in some walls in another day. He applied Kilz to all the walls on the 3rd day. He painted all the walls & ceilings on the 4th & 5th days. The result was awesome! I can't praise his professionalism, work ethic, maturity & concern for customer satisfaction highly enough.
Description of Work: Job 1: Ted not only did all the physical work in remodeling my house. He also selected all the materials. He painted the entire interior, replaced all the doors (exterior/interior), replaced all the exterior woodwork with hardiplank & painted it, installed ceiling fans in all the rooms, ceramic tile throughout the entire house, lovely complementary ceramic tile around both bathtubs, new bathroom vanities & cabinets. He also replaced a sliding glass door with French doors, hand-built kitchen cabinets, installed a garage door opener, designed & built a built-in display cabinet. I didn't have to shop for anything, he did it all. His taste is exquisite. Photos will be uploaded as soon as I get them.($20,000.) Job 2: I needed the entire interior (ceilings & walls) repaired & painted, Z-brick removed from 5 walls, drywall replacement/repair, covering multiple paint jobs & oil-based paints, covering dark paints with pale colors & repairing cracks in walls & discolorations on ceilings.($3000.)
