I hired Schulze in an emergency on a Friday 8/28 to move me on Saturday 8/29 ?and they told me they could be there at 1PM Sat., which was agreeable since anything later than 3PM would not work for me.?The price was already agreed upon and I had everything ready to load except the headboard of my bed which needed to come off and was secured by 4 allen screws. ? I got a text message from Ms. Schulze around 11:00AM that informed me that the movers were running behind and wouldn?t be there until 6PM. I called her by phone and told her that wasn't going to work because the storage unit gates lock at 9PM. She said she would push them to hurry. At that point I was stuck. I didn't see any other alternative but to continue to wait for them rather than canceling and trying to find someone to move me with only 3 hrs notice. They didn't get to my house until 7:30PM, 7.5 hours after we had agreed upon. When the movers pulled up in front of my house, my stomach sunk as I noticed they had a little 20' open bed trailer being pulled behind a pickup truck. I knew it wasn?t big enough and told them I didn't know what they were going to do because I had taken the day off work at my new job, had to work the next day in Houston and wasn't coming back down to Galveston island.? The supervisor kept telling me that they could get everything loaded but would have to make 2 trips and that they could make it on time to dump one load at the storage unit. ?I didn't look at the exact time but throughout the loading process I kept telling them they would never make it in time.. As we pulled out and he was following me.. I wasn't on the road more than a couple of minutes when I looked at the time and saw it was 8:50PM and we were 28 miles away from the storage facility. I called Ms. Schulze, got the drivers number and told him he would have to store my stuff overnight because there was no alternative. ? I ?had a cleaning lady hired to clean the place in the morning before my landlord was due to install a closet door prior to the new residents moving in on Sunday. ?I had all the utilities turned off and was forced to leave Schulz the keys to my house in order for them to come back and get the rest of my belongings. It ended up taking them 3 trips and they moved a load with all my nice furniture in the rain with a little tarp that didn't even fit over the whole trailer. They had no moving pads whatsoever and damaged the one I had that I let them use. They did not separate the items as I had specified between what went to the storage unit and what went to the residence. 2/3 of what was supposed to go to the house was delivered to the storage unit.? It wasn?t until Tuesday 9/1 ?that my bed?was finally delivered. It and a few other items were dry and safe and made it to the residence. ?The 70 some boxes and furniture in my storage unit didn?t fare well. It was a lot of stuff shoved in a storage unit and most of it was wet. I had to go through everything box by box to assess whether it was damaged and needed to be thrown out (mold!) or it could be kept. ?My clothes which were in 2 boxes and 3 hanger fitted boxes were molding? I noticed that the only delicate piece of furniture I owned was not in the unit 4 or 5 days after they had delivered my bed. It was an antique wardrobe. ?I called the mover directly and he told me that it "fell off the truck." ?I asked him why he had not informed me and he claimed that he thought I already knew. It was a month later before I was able to finally get through everything and figure out what else was missing. I was missing 2 chairs and some other items too. I was forced to pay cash, which had not been stipulated beforehand and I was forced to pay for the job before it was finished. The 3rd load was still down in Galveston the next day and they threatened not to move it. ?I had to leave the mover at the storage unit on Sunday 8/30 as he unloaded my things in the pouring rain. I told him to leave me a receipt and the key at the office the next day when he returned with the last load. I never got a receipt. Later text messages requesting a receipt were to no avail. My landlord was set to refund my $800 security deposit but held every dollar of it because it was filthy dirty since the cleaning company I hired could not clean because they bid me a price on the place being empty. My landlord said they scratched the hardwoods so bad it took him 3 days to get them looking nice enough for the new occupants. ?Also he charged me for the days that the new renters were in a hotel and couldn?t move in. I had already paid the cleaning company so that money was lost as well. In January I wrote a letter to the company asking for their insurance information so I could make a claim. (the company carries no insurance obviously)? That letter was never answered and when I went to look for this company I found they had vanished from the internet site I found them on. That website (thumbtack.com) investigated and found they had just renamed themselves ?"Fort Bend Building Maintenance." ?The owner - Sherrie Schulze - was now going by "Cindy James". ?Same address and phone number ? It has taken me a long time to figure out the amount of money/damages due to this event and suing them would be moot because it would be impossible to collect. I am filing this review to warn others. ? I have pictures of the damaged/ruined property but can't figure out how to upload them on this site.
