Mike's Complete Landscaping

Responsive to my call and showed up on appointed day and time both for providing estimate and for completing the job. Completed the job within stated time frame.

The job went great! All communication was done through email, except for the actual consultation. Carlos came out for the consultation the same week I posted the message to him on Angie's List. I showed him the area where I wanted flower beds installed, and also gave him a short list of various plants I liked. He made some suggestions and I basically let him have free rein to design it. I received my bid that night and changed out one of the trees he had selected for another which I liked more. They started a few days later and finished the same day. The beds are so beautiful! I now have a nice variety of plants and trees and rocks and seasonal color, and it is so peaceful to sit out on my patio and look at the wonderful landscaping. I was worried a little because I had basically turned it over to him to design and install with very little input from me, but it turned out so gorgeous. I am thrilled!

They started about 30-minutes after they said they would start but they picked up materials before arriving. Worked hard all day. Great quality and attention to detail. I am a happy camper.

After he started laying the rocks, I said something about the back yard and he said it was just for the front yard. When he originally came we walked all through the front and back yard and I explained to him that I wanted both. When he said it was only for the front yard I was shocked, as he charged me $6,500 for just the front yard. They didn't even dig out the weeds, they just yanked them out by hand. I wanted black mulch and he said he couldn't put black mulch down because it would fade the rocks. The mulch that he put down was terrible mulch and I have pulled trash out of it. The trees and shrubs were trimmed very poorly. When they broke the rocks with a hammer to size them, there were rock pieces everywhere in my grass. I spent 4 hours picking the pieces out of the grass. I think he just thought I was an old lady and he could do whatever he wanted and take advantage of me. He did one thing really well when he made sure my magnolia tree was trimmed properly.

Mike and his crew have been responsive, reasonable and dependable.

m I contacted Mike's Complete Landscaping by phone right before labor day. The phone message said to contact him through e-mail for faster response. So that I did and he e-mailed me back that he would be out to give me a quote after the labor day holiday. Shortly after the holiday he responded to me with a quote of 30/week, no trimming - just mowing, edging and trimming. It took me a few weeks (3-4) to get back to him. I e-mailed him on Sunday night hoping to get added to the schedule for that week. I didn't get a response till that Tuesday saying that it was too late for me to get added to the schedule (he does my area on Wednesdays). So I said ok, add me to the schedule for the following week. Mike confirmed my for the following Wednesday. Well, as you can probably guess no one showed up on Wednesday. I e-mailed him and asked why crew didn't make it and he indicated that he told them too but they just didn't. Since only services my area on Wednesdays they couldn't be back out until the following week. No offer to travel out and make good on the appointment or anything. Then on Monday of the following week I received an e-mail that he would like to meet with me from 11-2 the next day. When I said that wasn't going to work he indicated that I should find another lawn company. I would defiantly not recommend this company to anyone looking to hire them. They might be ok for their current customers but no for new ones.

Mike called before and after the first visit, and again before the second visit to make sure I wanted the service every week, rather than once every two weeks. His communication is excellent, he does everything including landscaping, hardscaping, lighting, tree trimming! I am so fortunate to have found him. Thank you, Mike, and thank you Angie's List!!

It was fine. I asked them to cut it little bit shorter in the back yard. They are punctual and fast.

It went well in guess. I have a small yard and I he gave me advice on how I could just do it myself and save money

Fantastic service. Crew does a great job on the yard weekly, mowing edging, pulling weeds. Much better than our previous service. Highly recommend!

I hired Mike's Complete Landscaping for weekly lawn maintenance during the summer of 2013. They provided good work at a reasonable rate. I would use their services in the future.

Mike fit me into his schedule earlier than he originally promised. The work was done extremely well and on time. He is an excellent consultant and advises you on what you should not do as well as recommendations to meet your needs. I would definitely use him again in the future.

This project went as planned. The project included the removal of old steel edging, excavation of old, virgin and dying plants, trimming of shrubs and debris removal. The project crew delivered and installed new plants and stone borders. The sprinkler system was also repaired and updated. The project took one day to complete as promised. There were some other issues with the sprinkler system that the Project Manager dealt with quickly. These folks did a great quality job. hat's off to Carlos!!! They delivered what I had asked for!!!!

I was very satisfied with Mike's Complete Landscaping. Mike was very responsive and prompt with returning my call. His crew did a fantastic job with my lawn. Although the company is located in Richmond, Mike provides service to the Heights as well. I will definitely use their services again.

Owner Mike Melchor is a great guy to do business with, is honest, responsible and responsive, and his crews provide basic lawn-care services at a very attractive price. The crews get in and out FAST, use edgers that don't cause ditches along flowerbeds and curbs (a big plus), use a mulching mower and keep weeds at bay wherever weeds can be sprayed. They don't hand-clean the beds for the basic price. I consider Mike's to be an excellent meat-and-potatoes no-frills company. I give them a B on Quality and Professionalism because crews aren't designed to go the extra mile. You shouldn't expect to know anyone by name or anticipate that they'll automatically move an emptied trash bin or recycle boxes from the curb to your garage area.This is just an observation, not a complaint. But if you have a complaint, Mike gets everything straightened out pronto.

Mike was the first to respond of several companies I called. He worked me into his schedule and was on time for all of our meetings. Mike listened to my needs and made a fair estimate based on my budget. He did NOT try to up-sell me anything I did not need and even made money saving suggestions to help me stay within budget. The crew arrived on time and were polite and got right to work. they NEVER once bothered me for anything. They followed direction very well and accomplished the job in a very efficient manner. I am very pleased. I am planning a large walkway and plan using on Mike's Complete Landscaping to do the job.

Contacted Mike after my former lawn service stopped unexpectedly. He answered my email in 12 hours, gave me an estimate a day later and then started service the following day. Excellent service and quality of work.

They came on time, did good work, worked hard and were very polite. We are very satisfied.

I'm very happy with their work both times. Mike and Carlos are knowledgeable about what types of plants would do well in the type of soil that your yard has and the amount of sun it receives during the day. They buy their plants at quality nurseries only so the plants are always full, luscious and healthy. That, plus a good bed prep as described above, is important to kick start a healthy bed and help the plants thrive. When they were done my yard was transformed from a tired looking yard to a vibrant and luscious one. It received "Yard of the Month" the day after they did the work seven years ago. Mike, Carlos and the crew are professional and punctual, which is important to me as I hate wasting time waiting for people who do not show up when they say they would. I already have another company doing weekly maintenance but I may look into having Mike's doing it.

I contacted Mike because my elderly parents needed lawn service at their home. I do not live locally in the Houston/Sugar Land area. Mike returned my call and was willing to work with me on providing these services to my parents. He asked for the address and went by to inspect the job. The lawn had not been mowed in a year. A big job! Mike contacted me again with a quote and a plan for continued service on a regular schedule. We agreed on a date for the service to be done. The crew arrived on the scheduled date and completed the services beaautifully. They did a fantastic job for what they had to work with! I highly recommend Mikes Complete Landscaping! Great job, my parents are very pleased and I am too!

Dont get me wrong, for I am not trying to unnecessarily trash these guys. Mike and his associate were very friendly and professional. They spent time with me going over every detail of what needed to done in my yard and we definitely discussed that their bid and dollars were very important. I did have other bids, so I knew approximately how much the job would cost. We agreed that they would email the bid promptly, which they did. However, their bid was twice of what had been previously bid. I requested via email to please check their numbers but no response. Therefore, no deal. If they didnt want to do the deal, then they should have told me so in the beginning and saved everyone a lot of time.
