I was suspicious of my lawn treatment this year as I observed the most recent treatment was with dry chemicals and not liquid chemical as was done in the past. Also, requested a hard copy of all the treatments that have been applied to my lawn to be mailed to me. My first request was about two months ago, 2nd request was a month ago, and now 3rd request was today. I don’t feel too confident that the 3rd request will produce my receipts. I spoke with the manager from the Richland Hills, TX location about a month ago. He argued with me that the dry chemicals is the same as the wet chemicals. When I asked him to explain why they are now using dry chemical instead of wet and he was unable to come up with an explanation. I feel that TruGreen in Richland Hills, TX is intentionally try to cheat me. Currently, my main issue at this time is that they have not produced a hard copy of my previous treatments as requested. I am very dissatisfied with TruGreen in Richland Hills, TX.

Agreed to plan set it up over two days received four additional calls to "set me up with the service" This tells me they don't know what is going on with their own company , had no idea what was going on with there system for sign up If you can't get the basics right what else do you have problems with???

I didn't even get past the sales rep on the phone without rudeness. I asked if they offered a military discount. He explained that he already applied a 10% just for calling in and so that was the same thing. I responded it wasn't the same thing but "..that's fine. You answered my question" and moved on. He came back to the subject a minute later saying I'd misunderstood him and he re-explained. I told him I hadn't misunderstood - the two types of discounts were irrespective of the other. Then I moved on. He answered my questions and then I told him, "Well that's all I needed so thanks." And then he hung up on me. No closing, not 'thanks for calling'. Just dial tone. Perfectly rude and disrespectful. So guess who won't be getting my business.

Only complaint goes for last year also. The tech doing treatments also treats garden beds and has killed some plants. Apparently they just treat all of it without regard to whether or not it’s harmful to plants. I have to tell them not to treat ANY garden beds

They have been on time every time and have done much more than promised. They are easy to pay and easy to stop if I decide if I want to stop them. They have helped my lawn a lot. I would give them an "A" across the board. He only does about half of my acre.

They're one of the main lawn care services. It takes about 40 minutes to complete the service. The workers are professional and courteous.

The price is $289 a year to come out six times to treat the lawn. They're one of the main lawn care services. There's not many big name services and I don't know of any local people that do that work. It take them about 40 minutes to complete the work. They're professional and courteous.

The work turned out fine, good work, excellent. It’s almost about every 6 weeks, they’re about due right now. What stands out about this service is that they are always timely, they always provided advice as to what they think I need to have. Especially if it is over and above and they do not try to over sell. They really try to take care of things. I don’t do a lot of comparison, but the price seems to be fair to me. They are dead on the time that they say they are going to be there. They have been very good on professionalism. I continue to use them.

My lawn feels like a thick carpet instead of grass.

We have the worst looking lawn on the block. Told us they would come out to refertilize after we had told them our yard looked terrible. It was pretty obvious it looked awful and they did nothing until we said something, then it took them two weeks to get it done. Obviously they don't really care once you are set up and they just do scheduled work. I don't think their guys look for problems they just apply a standard application.

The first day they showed up to treat the lawn, then another tech sprayed the trees and hedges. The next day I came home and found my yard had been aerated while I was out. I then checked my bank accounts and found they had charged me $242.00! After calling my salesman, Randall Thompson, who stated he would get back to me and now will not return my calls. I called customer service who said I had not received all the bills yet! There is still another outstanding for $150! This $29.95 service has now increased to almost $400! Customer service said they won't charge me for the aeration, although they asked me to pay half and told me that they would be "in trouble" for not billing me. They state they are refunding several of the fees (not all), but it will take several days. I cannot recommend this company!

I was provided an invoice and yard signs but the technician did not actually treat the lawn. I was in the house when he arrived and I did not see him in the front lawn and my roommate was in the backyard and did not see him treat there. I am sure this is a technician to technician issue so I called and was simply told that the technician would be calling me back to discuss my concern. I feel this could have been handled in a better way. I will update/remove this rating if I feel it is made right.

I prepaid the end of May 2016 for their annual service. The contract referred to yearly and annual. "No where on either contract does it state that year refers to calendar year ending 12/31. When I rec'd invoices for Jan and Feb 2017, I called to inquire why. I was then told that my contract ended Dec 31, 2016....so their definition of annual and yearly is deceiving. The cost for only 7 months, therefore, was very high. There explanation was that I had paid for a specific number of treatments and had rec'd them all. Again, this is not stated in the contract. In addition, one of my mature Possum Haw Hollies died shortly after they treated trees and shrubs, as did a couple of Nandinas. I contacted customer service by email and never rec'd a reply. When I called to inquire about the December 31st end date, the reps were not very polite. I consider their contracts to fall under "deceptive trade practice".

Their good and their on time and very professional. Very nice.

We found them to be very responsive, we've had to make request about we're still seeing these types of weeds and they've trailer-ed our treatment to match that so it's been a good experience.

I've got a contract with them. It costs me $65 every time they come.

I agreed to have Trugreen help me with my St. Augustine lawn become greener and lush since June 2014. They have been coming approximately every 4-6 weeks however, the grass looks horrendous and the most yellow it has ever been. I am usually not home when they come to do my lawn fertilization and weed control and therefore I can not tell if they did their job or not on each visit. One of my most recent treatments the technician came, while I was home, and did the treatment ONLY in the front yard and not the back. I called TruGreen customer service and explained that the technician never knocked on my door and did not treat the backyard like agreed on the contract. TruGreen sent the same technician out the next day to retreat my lawn and did not knock on my door again. I lost total faith in this company and feel that they are dishonest and were not treating my lawn. My lawn is from BAD TO WORST since lawn treatment has been done with TruGreen. I complained to the service manager and he was happy to close my account! I do not recommend this company to anyone and do not waste your time and money.

I had a specific issue with my lawn that I told the "800" number customer service about, and they recommended a specific type of treatment. In addition to that, I signed up for the annual lawn treatment plan. At the first service, I talked with my representative about the specific issue I called about and he informed me that Tru Green does not deal with the problem I am having and that the "1-800 people" don't know anything about lawns. He fertilized my lawn and was in and out in 5 minutes. I then e-mailed the supervisor for my assigned branch and have received no response. I will try their regular service for a while, but have to say that I feel a bit duped by the whole scenario.

They've been out here 2 or 3 times and nothing works. They keep telling me that it takes time, it takes time, it takes time but still nothing. They are not worth the trouble. Maybe someone else would be happy with them but we are not.

I have subscribed to TruGreen's lawn and shrub service since the spring of 2013. Their rep promised that our yard would be lush and green and "the envy of our neighbors". As of October 2013 our lawn looks worse than with no service at all with many dead patches. It has been watered faithfully twice weekly with a new irrigation system. Several shrubs became infested with white fly and I called for an urgent visit. I was told by the phone rep. that her computer would not let her schedule for the "tech" for my area but she would put in a request through other channels. Not surprisingly the "tech" never showed up and the next service was on the regular schedule and a large shrub was seriously damaged. The "techs" for both the lawn and the shrub and tree service spent so little time per treatment that it is difficult to believe they were effective or performed in a professional manner. Very recently I was notified that a tree & shrub treatment was scheduled for the following day. As there was prediction for thunderstorms, I called and requested the visit be deferred until the following week. Well, this turned out to be a major problem and after much negative response it was finally scheduled in the next week. Based on prior experience, it is very likely that service would never show up. TRUGREEN appears totally unable to handle any variation in their service schedule which is likely set up months in advance. Their communication and response to special needs is non-existent. After I canceled the service in very unambiguous terms they showed up the following day nevertheless. SAVE YOUR MONEY. This company is clearly interested in your payments only, and they have minimal or no interest in providing a professional service. Their internal communications and computer system is terrible.

I paid for TruGreen's Lawn Care services for almost 2 years and my weeds decreased by maybe 20%. I could have pulled the weeds myself and gotten better results than that. I was constantly calling to follow up with them because they missed scheduled appointments. One time, the serviceman was sitting across the street in his truck and after a few minutes just pulled off. When I called in, no one could explain why he didn't treat my yard. It took them 2 weeks to send someone back out. I started out paying for the whole year. After the 1st year, I decided to pay per treatment because I wasn't sure if I was going to keep the service. On top of not caring for my lawn as promised, I had to constantly call in regarding billing errors. They were billing me for services when no one ever showed up. Needless to say, I am done with TruGreen for life!!!

I signed up for TruGreen's Lawn service and tree and shrub service. My lawn has received three treatments while my trees have been treated twice. The lawn is full of weeds and it is by far the yellowest lawn on the block. The areas on my lawn that were green are starting to yellow and I have also noticed that mushrooms have started growing in the front yard. I sent an email to TruGreen stating that I was unhappy with the service and all they did was leave a door hanger with the office number. I left a message with the office and they never called me back. A week later I called a second time stating that I wanted to cancel the service. The customer service rep asked me to reconsider and scheduled someone to come out to speak to me and see the lawn, the tech never showed up on the scheduled day. I called a third time to cancel the service and was told that a manager would be calling me. I asked that no other treatments be performed on my yard until I spoke to a manager. The very next day they performed a treatment even though it was raining. Stupidly I called once more requesting to speak to manager. Two days later I have yet to be contacted by anyone. I gave TruGreen four opportunities to address the issues with my yard and did not receive an email or a phone call. I will never do business with TruGreen again and I would advise anyone considering TruGreen for their lawn care to choose another company.

I used Trugreen once a year to treat my yard each spring. This year I called back in late April to have my annual treatment, but they failed to show up two weeks later as they said they would. I then called back and schedule another appointment and then they failed to show up the following week as they stated. Once again, I called them regarding the 2nd no show. I also, noticed my neighbors yard had the Trugreen sign and their yard showing their yard was treated. I called Trugreen to let them know that they mistakenly treated my neighbors yard. They then said they would treat it the following day. When I saw my neighbor I told him that his yard was treated by mistake instead of mine. He then went on to tell me that he has a contract with Trugeen to treat his yard on a regular basis and that maybe it was one of their normal treatment. I then called Trugreen back to let them know that possibly the person doing the treatment did my neighbors by mistake since they were doing my neighbors a few times a year. At this point the lady on the phone decided to lie to me and tell me that both my neighbor and I were both scheduled. Not likely, since they never mentioned my neighbor until I mentioned it. I then questioned it and she still continued to lie to me. If you put the math to it is very unlikely that after a month of trying to get my lawn treated that the decided to do my neighbor?s and mine at the same time and then failed to treat mine. Then when I call about it the 2 different women lied to me. Also, they failed to come the next day since it was schedule the previous day. It is one thing to not treat my yard, but then to give me line of BS about it is not acceptable. Nothing against the person who treated my neighbor?s lawn instead of mine, because he made an honest mistake since he was accustomed to treating my neighbor?s instead in mine. Apparently, the owner of this local Trugreen doesn?t need anymore business.

I started out as a Trugreen customer when I found that I did a poor job with weed control in my yard. The price was fine and the weed control was nearly perfect. They came out on one occasion at no charge to treat a certain problem area. I was satisfied with the fertilizer and weed control service although I would have preferred knowing when they would arrive so I could arrange to talk to them regarding questions I had about my yard if I wanted to. I was satisfied with the tree and shrub treatments. They did an iron treatment for two trees that were looking quite sad and they both responded very well and still look great. The work done at my house was all very good. The reason why I cancelled with Trugreen is due solely to actions of their support staff. Some examples: I would get frequent calls from their call center trying to sell me grub treatments, fire ant treatments, lawn aerations etc. where I would get the hard sell put on me. Mildly annoying by itself but contributed to my dissatisfaction. I moved but kept Trugreen for lawncare (and added tree/shrubs) at the new place but still received multiple calls soliciting services for my old address. My customer service rep did not reliably return emails when I had questions. At the suggestion of a technician who did a lawn treatment, I called to set up a lawn aeration. I was told by the technician to call the home office to set that up. I called that day (a Saturday) but the person I spoke with told me they had no one on hand who could schedule that so I needed to call back on Monday. I called on Monday and set it up with a discount for paying in advance. Trugreen did not do the aeration until I called to inquire why it hadn't been done almost 4 weeks later. I decided then i would try someone else. Trugreen called once in 2012 to get me to renew for 2013 and I said I didn't want to and explained why. Trugreen called me twice more this year asking me to renew, I said I did not want to renew each time. They came out to the house and did a treatment without me authorizing it and left a bill they wanted me to pay. (I believe this is a tactic purposefully done to try to get me to continue doing business with them. In the past I would normally get an automated call alerting me that they would be servicing the lawn a day or two prior to them coming out but I did not get one this time). I called and told them I had already told them multiple times I didn't want to renew. Which brings me to the reason I decided to do this review...today, I received THREE separate calls from their call center asking my if I had gotten anyone to do my lawn service. Each time I asked them to quit calling me. Trugreen is like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction but with exceptionally bad organizational skills. I hope someday to be rid of them.

Have been a TruGreen customer for many years and was very satisfied until late last year. Treatment appointments are not performed as scheduled; treatment visits are made without notice (causing gates to be locked and incomplete service). I am now being billed for a (scheduled) service that they claim was performed; I was home waiting for them, no doorbell ring, no sign of anyone working, no paperwork on my porch, no ?stay off until dry? stakes. This tells me that they were not there. Every time I call the local number (817-595-2035), I am connected with a distant (Georgia, Iowa, etc) office; all they can do is send notice to the local office. Am beginning to wonder if a local office even exists anymore. Each complaint is answered with ?computer/IT problems?. I am a retired IT professional and might accept that excuse once, MAYBE twice, but that?s it. Oh, and by the way, I also subscribe to their tree service ? trees haven?t been addressed at all. Several weeks ago I completed the ?Customer Satisfaction? survey on their website where it states that I will be contacted regarding my response within a few days ? nada.
