+ -1 moreThe guy who came out, I think his name was Tim, was very nice and professional. I showed him the dishwasher, and he worked diligently for about 45 minutes and then let me know it was fixed. It turned out to have a kink in the waterline, that was preventing water from flowing into the unit. I was happy to not need to buy a new dishwasher.
Description of Work: My KitchenAid dishwasher had been sitting idle for 5 years in the condo that I bought. It was not working, powered on fine but wouldnt run.

+ 0 moreWe have a compactor that has been broken for a year. Several people tried to fix at the house and then lost parts. I called Guinco and was impressed from start. The dispatcher was friendly, explained their process, and charges. Explained email notification and I really like the quick application they use for confirmation and to get background on person dispatched. You can see their picture and background, very nice. Technician was prompt, professional, and fixed compactor quickly. He had all the parts necessary so no return trip was necessary. I would recommend this company and would use them again without hesitation.

He stated that we would have other problems with the refrigerator and we already replaced the board so we agreed it was the right decision to disconnect it. He let us know that our cooling in our refrigerator would still work. He spent a lot of time with us and explained how refrigerators as well and what brands to buy. It was great that he explained everything and gave us a wealth of education.
Description of Work: Our refrigerator wasn't working and he came to service it. It has separate temperature gauges and it is a tall stainless steel refrigerator.

+ -1 moreCame to see it and then ordered part. Came back to fix it and it was exactly the same. It wasn't fixed. I pointed this out and he said it was fixed. Then I called the office and they wouldn't do anything about it. So $300 just disappeared. I'll never use them again, ever.

+ -1 moreRafael was excellent: prompt, courteous, professional. He immediately diagnosed the problem and was back the very next morning to replace the part. A recorded call alerted me before he arrived on both visits (very professional tactic). I also got an email beforehand asking me to confirm the appt, which included a photo of Rafael and a link to click to his bio (again, very professional tactic). Both receipts were immediately emailed to me. (First day: for the diagnostic fee of $100; second day: for the part and labor - which took about 2 minutes for him to actually put in, at $160 - minus the $15 coupon via Angie's list). The total was $260. Without the coupon, $275. I gave them a C on price because I found this to be terribly overpriced. But once you agree to the visit, you are automatically out $100. If you're looking for extreme professionalism, give them a call. And if you can, ask for Rafael. He is terrific.

+ -1 moreJosh arrived within the window given by Guinco. He put the booties on (always a plus for service provider) and went straight to the refrigerator. He immediately informed me that the primary issue was low coolant. A few years back a service provider had come out for a similar problem and tapped the coolant line and added coolant, which temporarily solved the problem. Josh informed me that because of his certifications and EPA regulations he could not add coolant via the tap however he could repair the unit - but it would be costly. He informed me that the company that had tapped the line had done me a disservice because the source of the leak would have been under warranty at the time that they installed the tap and it should have been replaced. He did provide me with an estimate - in the $2,200 range to make the necessary repairs which I declined. He then went to the washing machine, which was sounding like a jet engine. His diagnosis was that the bearing were bad. Josh estimated the cost of repairs at ~ $6-700 dollars. I again declined. Although I didn't end up getting any service performed, Josh was professional, honest and helpful. Dealing with the folks at Guinco was a pleasure from start to finish, from the person who set up the appointment, to the email confirmation the day prior to service, to the service technician Josh. I would highly recommend Guinco for your appliance service needs. I now know that my 12+ year old appliances need to be replaced.

+ -1 moreOur refrigerator was creating a loud noise. We thought that it was the evaporating motor and thought it would have to be replaced. I called Glenn and he was a very knowledgeable guy. He asked me a couple of question over the phone and was able to immediately draw a general conclusion about the problem. He sent his son over the very next day on a Saturday morning. They arrived at my residence promptly on time examined the freezer and determined that the problem was being created by a ice frost accumulating in the freezer. They cleaned the ice, made sure that the fridge was in good working conditions and also provided us with valuable advice on how to remedy a similar problem in the near future. The guys at Guinco were very sincere, honest, timely and I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Guinco examined the problem with our LG refrigerator and cleaned up the frost that was clogging up the freezer.

+ -1 moreAs I stated earlier, I ended up finding somebody else who specialized in Sub Zero. Guinco?s technician totally misdiagnosed the issue without testing or looking at the actual problem.
Description of Work: Guinco service repair guy showed up opened my Sub Zero refrigerator and within the 5 seconds told me that we need a new evaporator –all of his diagnosis was done based on the single glance to the back of my refrigerator wall which contained some light icing. He then presided to give me the estimate for replacement of the evaporator unit. I then asked him about the cost of repairing our refrigerator door (which have been functional but with time have become little harder to shut) he looked at them for 2 minutes and said he didn’t see anything visually wrong with the door but has acknowledge that they are not shutting as they should… he offered no solution to that problem. As I have pushed him to give me some sort of solution he presided to call his boss over the phone and ask him “how much he should charge me to fix this problem?” –after his call he was not even able to answer which part he was changing but rather just point to the area. I found this experience to be rather bizarre and especially given the fact that Guinco had such a high reviews and has charged almost $100 for their technician to show up –this is 30 to 40% more than most other places I called afterwards. I would NEVER use Guinco again. I don’t mind paying the price for the good service and solution to the problem but paying $100 for insecure and incompetent technician who totally misdiagnosed the issue is absolutely ridiculous. Yesterday, after finding a new technician -who actually spent 3 hours working on the refrigerator and doing the actual testing -I found out it was not the evaporator but rather the condenser that needed to be replaced.

+ -1 moreGuinco was just great from beginning to end! I called and they immediately set up a time to come out that was convenient to my family. As promised, they called and gave us a time frame to expect the technician. Then on the day of service, he called and asked permission to come EARLY! My husband was home and said absolutely! The technician arrived and was very polite and quick with his service, determining the part that required replacement. Unfortunately they didn't have it available and had to order it, but I don't fault Guinco for that. You can't have everything in stock all the time...or your prices would be astronomical from warehousing expenses. Before leaving, he gave us a date to expect them to return to complete the repair. The part arrived just as promised and again, they were running a little early on their time estimate. They called once again and asked if that was convenient for us. Wow! So many businesses will run late and it's just your problem if you aren't sitting at home waiting for them. Even arriving early could cause problems if you weren't expecting them, but having them call ahead was just what our busy family needs. It was great to have someone care about OUR schedule for a change! My hats off to the folks at Guinco! I will definitely call them again again the next time something needs repair!

They were extremely curteous, and they put shoe covers on to protect my floors. I appreciated their honesty, the dryer is 26 years old, and they could have taken advantage of me to try to sell me another dryer or say there are other problems that needed fixed.

+ -1 moreKitchenaid selected and ordered the technician - Guinco. Once set up, they confirmed the appointment, sent reminder email, the technician showed up, he was very careful and did a great job.
Description of Work: Warranty service on new appliances: Kitchenaid builtin ovens and built in microwave. The oven doors rattled - the technician took the doors apart, made a couple of adjustments, and put them back together. Fixed. The microwave turned out to be defective. Had to have it replaced.

Description of Work: The technician released some of the Freon from the compressor, for it was causing the copper pipe to sweat and I was finding water on the floor behind the compressor. He also installed a regular starter, for the company I used before installed a hard start and it was pulling too much power from the compressor, which could cause it to stop running.

Description of Work: The ice maker had a part that had worn out over time and was replaced. We were told it would take two days for the part to arrive. The part and the service was performed in two days. The two tech's were very professional and very considerate. The only minor blimish was the charge for looking at our manual to reset the clock on the cook stove.

+ -1 moreI called and spoke with a very friendly and helpful receptionist (Tessa, I think) and she set up an appointment for a technician to come out that very day. I was called by an automated system when the technician had finished his previous appointment so that I knew that he would be on his way. I was also given his name, Angel, by the automated system, which was very nice. Angel Martinez was very polite and friendly. He pulled the dryer apart and discovered that the motor had seized. He evaluated the cost and we determined that it would be more cost effective for me to just purchase a new dryer. I will certainly call Guinco again if I need help with a large appliance.

Description of Work: I contacted GuinCo yesterday after doing research on an error code my Maytag washer was giving me, I knew the job was much bigger than this IT Geek could handle... Tess - the Customer Service agent, was so pleasant, efficient and extremely helpful for finding a technician with in 1 day. They emailed me with the picture of the technician and a link to his experience and other helpful information. I followed up on the day of service, and was given great information from Lindsey as to when Joe was going to be getting here, He was punctual, professional and extremely knowledgeable and knew immediately what the cause was. He assured me he had the right parts on the truck if they were needed. Fortunately, no parts were necessary, and while I didn't really enjoy spending the money, it was definitely worth having it done, done right and by a company and individuals that say what they are going to do, do it, and stand behind their work. I would MOST DEFINITELY use GuinCo again in the future.

Two days ago, there had been a problem from the distributor about acquiring the part so they finally got the part and came out and did the installation. He was knowledgeable and effective.
