Company did a inspection, and did not check the main issue . The problem is still there and I was still charged. The company said they would come back and never showed. The company was selling their cleaning solution more then fixing the real issue.

When I hire chimney cleaners...I want the chimney brushed down or whatever is done to clean out the soot. This area is usually the source of most chimney fires. Only my firebox was cleaned.

They sell you don't need. They do not perform a correct chimney sweep. He would not clean the chimney from top down. They should be reported to the better business bureau

I'd like to give feedback on the appt. I had yesterday. United Cleaning was supposed to come clean my chimney and do an inspection. The worker who showed up was in an unmarked van. He had a hand drill with a hose that had a tiny circular brush on the end of the hose. He went up on the roof and spent about 5 minutes brushing out the inside of the fireplace. Before he went up there, he taped plastic to the front of my fireplace. When he came back in to remove the plastic, the soot that had fallen into the fireplace fell out all onto the tile in front of my fireplace. He then asked me for paper towels to clean it up, which I provided. Then he asked if I wanted him to clean the soot out of the fireplace. I told him yes, because that is the soot that fell from the cleaning. He used my fireplace tools to get some of it out and left the rest. Where he cleaned the soot off the tile, it got all into the grout between the tiles and was not all the way clean. i ended up having to clean more when he left and I can't get the soot all out of the grout. I then asked about the inspection that was supposed to be included with the cleaning. He said he would go back up to look. He did, then came down and said he didn't see any problems but he really couldn't see because it was dark. I also asked if there was anything in the chimney, such as a bird nest, and he replied that he didn't feel anything, which told me that he didn't look in there. When I signed the receipt for $157, the company on the receipt was "Green Clean," not "United Cleaning." So I don't know who this was or what qualifications they have because I had looked up reviews for United Cleaning. I'm very disappointed. I needed a good, written inspection and I did not receive that. I do NOT think my fireplace is now clean. 5 minutes and a small brush I'm sure did not clean it thoroughly and I don't appreciate that I had to clean again after he left. He was polite, but asked if I was married. Not professional. Would not recommend.

The cleaning process was pretty quick. I guess their prices are about average for this type of work and as for the work quality I did not have anything to compare it to. Customer service is excellent, the gentleman bumped up my appointment to accommodate the prompt need.
