Jeff at ServiceFirst Painting will now be my "go to" guy when I need painting or repair work done at my house! What a friendly, honest professional. I'm not sure what may have happened with/to the one reviewer but that is not the Jeff I dealt with. He was at our house at least once a day, mostly more, to make sure his crew was on target. ServiceFirst Painting made sure they worked within our schedule so as not to interrupt things more than necessary; the crew was fantastic and VERY polite to my wife and I. I would use them again whenever needed and highly recommend you as least have them come out and give you a bid. Jeff's bid was the only one my wife and I did not have to go back and tell him he left something out. He was not the least cost but was also not the highest, and, his bid was right on when it was first submitted. Did I say he was GREAT to work with?
Description of Work: We had a black water sewer pipe backup that affected about a third of our house, 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. ServiceFirst Painting replaced, taped, bedded and floated the walls as need, applying a matching texture to all the rooms affected. They also painted the walls in each room (2 coats), installed, puttied, caulked and painted new baseboards and door trim in each room also painting the doors and trim to match the newly installed baseboards. That was what the insurance company covered. As long as they were going to be here we also had them remove popcorn ceilings in 5 other rooms, reapply a new texture and completely repaint those rooms, doors and all trim AND apply new paint to our kitchen and entry. That's not all though! Since a major portion of the house now had all new matching baseboards we had them replace the baseboards in the other rooms they repainted so all would match.

Description of Work: This was my second time to use ServiceFirst. They painted the outside of our home last year. Last month we had them remove wallpaper, texture and paint the kitchen, powder bath and living room.

Description of Work: Jeff came out as scheduled to provide an estimate before any work was started. We had some exterior repairs to be made which were included in the estimate. They showed up on time and did an excellent job. It took longer than expected, but it was due to the extra work performed outside the estimate. The estimate was reasonable and the work and attention to detail was excellent. Would recommend to anyone. Their work enabled us to sell our house the first day it was listed. We had great feedback about the interior and exterior paint job.

The job went very well. We were probably a day behind because we added additional work for painting baseboards . We worked with Jeff the owner who does not hesitate to join to team in getting the work done himself . They were very responsive in coming back and taking care of small smudges or paint saints. We also got flooring done just before the paint job - so his crew took extra care not to drip paint on any floor surface .
Description of Work: He did the entire house Living room Formal Sitting all bedrooms kitchen etc...basically every surface on a 3500+ sft home . His rates were the most reasonable and the crew was prompt . They went an extra mile in terms of customer service.

Description of Work: The owner of Service First Painting, Jeff Murrey,presented himself in a very professional manner as being licensed, bonded, insured, a hands on professional manager of his employees, etc. when giving us his bid. He promised that he would professionally mange the project, and that our home's walls, ceilings, and trim would be "like new". The job started off well, but all of a sudden it became a race to finish up and get out the door, and things deteriorated rapidly from there. There isn't enough room here to list the numerous quality problems and damage to our property. Photos speak stronger than words, and I will gladly send photos of the horrible workmanship and damage done at my home to any interested party, just email me at badpaint@outlook.com. Although Mr. Murrey offered to fix some of the quality issues, he would not accept responsibility for the damage that was done by his crew and dismissed cosmetic flaws on rooms that we paid to have completely re-textured as "existing". Once again, I have photos of all of the damage and quality issues, which Mr. Murrey refused to look at, discuss, or attempt to resolve in good faith. When I emailed photos detailing the damage and poor quality of workmanship for his review his response was sending two response emails on 2/25/2014 stating "I don't have time to read your email" followed by "have you considered counseling". Can you even imagine trying to resolve problems with a contractor like that? Based on his attitude and unwillingness to accept responsibility for the damages created by his workers, I was forced to finish the job myself. He gave me a $750 refund to compensate for caulking and painting all of the baseboard baseboard in the entire home and rework of the numerous quality issues, which worked out to around $4 an hour. I learned a lesson the hard way, never pay a contractor until the work has been fully completed! I truly hope that I will save someone from a similar experience. And don't do what we did, get references!

We serve over 200 customers each year, and on rare occasion we get it wrong. In addition to touching up several of the issues mentioned, we have also refunded the customer $1150, or 10% of the total price of the project. Since this review was posted we have completed additional work for the customer’s wife. At ServiceFirst Painting we strive to honor our namesake, but when we fall short of our own high standards our goal is to make it right for the customer. I would DEFINITELY us ServiceFirst Painting again. When they finished painting, one of the first things I looked at to see if they were good painters or not was the paint line between the walls (dark paint) and the ceilings (white). They were perfect! There was absolutely no dark paint bleeding over onto the ceilings ANYWHERE! This is just one example of many I could list, but it is a game changer. They were also very careful to cover things with plastic (especially since I had them plaster all of the walls so that they would have no texture at all---another skill they did a fantastic job on). Kudos to Jeff Murrey and all of his staff!

Jeff and his crew applied new plaster and repainted ugly old walls inside multiple rooms in the church and made them look brand new with a nice taupe finish. Then they repainted all of the doors and wood trim with a black matte finish. It looks fantastic. They also set up scaffolding and retextured and painted a part of the sanctuary ceiling 35 feet overhead that had discolored due to water damage. I wasn't sure that they could match the existing ceiling texture and paint color, but when they were all finished, you couldn't even tell it was redone! It looked perfect!
Description of Work: Interior walls textured and painted. Interior doors and wood trim painted. Water damaged ceiling re-textured and painted.
