RICHARDSON DOOR & HARDWARE

After not receiving an email back for two days, I drove to Richardson Door and Hardware. I met with Marcy, who I had spoken with on the phone. She showed me a couple of door options in the store and said she'd have an estimate the next day. I didn't receive an estimate. That was Wednesday. The following Monday, I phoned. Marcy answered. She apologized & said that a baby was born. It threw off their schedules. Okay, I can forgive that. Again, she promised to have the estimate later in the day, Monday. This is Wednesday (a week from visiting her in her office). I still don't have an estimate. Her word means nothing. I'm trying to co-ordinate getting an exterior paint job done so, I need to order a door. I've phoned another company that will come out tomorrow & give an estimate. I can guarantee that it won't take a week! I'm surprised the people can even DO business this way!!

The techs from Richardson tried to reposition the door, but there was little that could be done because the house has shifted so much. We have scheduled a power jacking contractor to give an estimate to lift the house. We will have Richardson Door back once the foundation is lifted.

They were able to move the door enough to make it open and lock. Fast response and effective remedy. They were cautious not to make any major changes to the door or the door frame as they thought that the door would return to its original position and any changes to the door would be difficult to put back; it's difficult to add to the door after it has been planed down to adjust to the door opening. After all the recent rain they were right: the door did return to the original position and it opens and locks like it should.

Showed up to look at what was needed, then did not call back as promised to provide the estimated cost. We went to their office and they found the work ticket, then gave us a bid on the spot. We asked for the work to be done the following Friday (5 days) but they said they were very busy, would "try". Did not make Friday, but called and said that they would "try' the following Monday. Did not show, or call on Monday, so we called them again and they said the next week was busy, started to say Friday, but that wouldn't work as it was forecast for rain. (the back door is in a sheltered area). Once again no definite commitment. We paid 50% down, and now have at least a 2 week delay, and no solid commitment for when they will do the work.

Very, very badly, and on three occasions. Avoid this company.

Good product, we went with the in window shade and love it. Quality work, friendly, reasonable price.

I called them up and left my phone number for them to call me back. However, the guy who was supposed to call me back lost my phone. So I called him again and got an estimate. My husband then called him up to schedule the time and he lost the phone number again. So we decided that we are not going to call him back to schedule the work. The price quoted was really reasonable. The guy we spoke to seemed to be very nice to deal with once we actually got him here, but it was very unprofessional of him since we couldn?t get a hold of him. He was on time when he did come out, but he didn?t answer the phone in a professional manner. I felt like he wasn?t organized. We would be happy to have him do the work if we can get a hold of him.

Very attentive and did what he said he would do in timely manner, Good knowledge of finer points of door design and construction.

The job went smoothly and without a hitch. Mr. York had told me beforehand that the job would take about 3 hours. He finished the job about 20-25 minutes ahead of schedule. This impressed me because our house is quite old and I halfway expected Mr. York would encounter something unexpected that would require another parts trip as a minimum. This was not the case. He had in his truck everything he needed to complete the job, including a new threshold had I needed one(I didn't)and new sill supports(I didn't). As, the owner of the company that had been doing this kind of work for decades, Mr. York had in his head the knowledge he needed to anticipate the tool, material and labor requirements of this job.
