He did an excellent job. We have a spoke shape driveway. Prior owners had filled in the bottom of the drive, because you would bottom out. Filling it in like that was against the city code. They had just dumped a bunch of filler on it, and it was breaking away, and cracking. It was also moving away from the foundation. It looks great!

Very Good. The work took 1 and a half days. The workers did fast work and a nice touch on the existing cover patio posts because bottom of the posts cover were cracks and rotten. They also add more concrete (2 feet deep and steel bars) underneath the posts. The only thing is the height of the patio is too height because it need to be level with the existing patio cover posts. The height point is around 7 inches off the ground. I did not realize it until it is too late. Now I wish there is a step below it. The backyard is a mesh because they had to use the Bobcat for the tear out of the old concrete. They did put some top soil on the tracks.

They were wonderful. He was very informative on what he was going to and what you should for the concrete. He had about three people work on it. The patio looks wonderful.

Stephen Mickey was very professional. He was prompt and answered all the questions and concerns I had about replacing my concrete drive and carport foundation. I received another bid that was slightly lower but they were not able to answer all my concerns and therefore, I was more confident that Stephen would get the work done right. I was not disappointed. The work went without a hitch and the results are perfect. This is a large front entry drive on a 1950's mid century home with carport. The new driveway definitely adds a lot to the drive up appeal. I am very pleased with the service and the results.

Overall, the experience was very good. They arrived early in the morning and finished the work within a few hours; it was quite a large area. They were prompt, efficient and everything went well!

Excellent. Took about 2 and a half days. Tear out was difficult due to slope, depth of existing concrete and soft soil. The skid-steer got stuck twice but they managed to get it unstuck. All went as expected, the only blemish is the condition of the yard that they had to drive the Bobcat thru. They filled in the ruts with topsoil but it will take a while for the ruts to disappear and I will need to work on them. The concrete work was excellent, i have received many compliments and have recommended Mickey Construction to others in the neighborhood.

Mr. Mickey was prompt in returning my call and setting up a time to estimate the job. He listened to my ideas, determined what he had to do and emailed an estimate within a day or two. It was quite a bit of work -- he and his crew had to remove a fence, large concrete pavers, grade the yard for proper drainage, and build forms for each walkway paver to get me the look I was after. Bad weather delayed starting the job several times, but he stayed in touch. Everything was complete and cleaned up in one day. Very professional outfit; we're quite happy with the work.

Excellent! My initial contact was via e-mail at 11 PM. Stephen responded by 7 am in the morning. We set up a time for him to come out and provide an estimate the next day. I was delayed and arrived at the house almost 15 minutes past the scheduled appointment time. Stephen had arrived on time and went straight to work. By the time I arrived, he had already taken the measurements and was writing up an estimate. When I arrived, he took the time to walk me through his recommendations. He was quick to answer my questions and amenable to a few modifications that would lower the cost without impacting the integrity of the finished work. I also asked if he could give me an estimate on taking out a 15 x 15 slab of cracked concrete in my backyard. I am not sure what I want to replace it with but I did know it was going to have to come out and thought it would probably be cost effective to take it out at the same time as I was doing the contiguous driveway. During our initial conversation, he told me it might be three weeks until he could fit me into the schedule. However, because of the recent heavy rains, he had to delay work on one of his other projects and was able to fit me in two days later. He and the crew arrived at 7:15 am and went straight to work. I came home at lunch time to check on the progress and was amazed to find that they were ready to begin pouring the driveway. They were completely finished by 3:00. The work was impeccable and the entire work area was left cleaner than it had been when they began working that morning! I am happy to enthusiastically recommend this company.

Outstanding in every way. Steve was the best contractor I've worked with to date, and I've been remodeling houses for 20 years. His bid was significantly below the next lowest bid. He showed up on time every time, explained what he was going to do and when. He kept on schedule. He is a perfectionist and clearly wanted to produce an outstanding product. He suceeded. His folks were all polite and helpful. He was very helpful in getting subs to do some of the work (tree removal, tree planting) that he doesn't do. His design suggestions really enhanced the project and made for a better result. The work turned out perfect. Everyone who has seen the job is amazed at how different and how much better it looks. The area where he bricked in the old garage door entrance looks like it has been there since the house was built. The brick work he did matched perfectly. The pool had been completely remodeled before the pool deck work, so I was concerned that their might be a problem working on the pool deck. Steve's folks used sufficient care that zero damage was done to the pool or the pool equipment or plumbing. Throughout the process he was friendly, easy to work with and great at what he did. It was like having a good friend doing the work. All the work was cleand up and the job site was left ready to sod/start using.

Initial contact with Stephen was through email, he responded quickly and we setup an appointment for him to look at the property the next day. He arrived on time to look at the property, making necessary measurements. I received his quote via email within 24 hours. I had also requested a quote from another company. I received theirs in another day or 2. Stephens quote was significantly less so he got the job. I called him to let him know and we scheduled the job about a week and a half out. A permitting delay and weather pushed it out about 9 more days. His crew arrived bright early the day construction was to begin. There were a couple of unexpected delays removing the remains of a tree stump and sprinkler system valves unfortunately in the path of the new driveway. These were reconciled without issue. He had the drive completely formed by the end of the day. Early the next morning the crew was out to lay the rebar and prepare for inspection. They passed the inspection no problem and concrete started going in about 9:30am. By the time I stopped by the house at lunch they were finishing the concrete surface. Day 3 the crew was back out early to break down the forms and clean things up. They did an exceptional job. I will definitely be using them for more concrete work in the future.

The job went very well, Steven Mickey supervised the job himself and the work was exceptional. I was worried about a lot of loose rock being left behind because the sidewalk being removed had a layer of very loose rock on top. Since we previously had windows and glass front doors broken by flying rocks during lawncare, I was concerned that lots of loose rock not be left in the grass surrounding the sidewalk. The crew was very careful and cleaned up very nicely. My husband has a background in the construction industry and was very pleased to see that the proper procedure was being followed in the pouring and finishing of the sidewalk. They also removed two brick wing walls and left hardly any debris behind. They arrived on time and worked steadily until the job was complete. I am totally comfortable recommending this company to anyone, they really exceeded my expectations.

They did a great job. They are excellent. I got quotes from other companies, but, I believe I got the best. As a matter of fact, the sprinkler system got covered up. They came and took care of it right away. They are easy to work with.

Everything went as planned, taking one day, as promised. The estimate and the price charged were the same. All was handled very professionally by Stephen Mickey. All workers were professional and cordial.

They did a great job. I would hire them again. I have recommended them to a couple of other folks. The price was very fair; it was good. They were there when they said they would be.

It went well overall. Ran into an issue with the city inspector and permit, and changes to the code which resulted in addtional work. Stephen handled the situation extremely well and completed the job exceptionally. His crew made the driveway approach look excellent.

The job went very well. Mickey's crew started on time, they worked quickly and efficiently. The only challenges were faced were the delay in the inspection & the concrete delivery. The driveway looks great & had several neighbors comment on how great it looks. One neighbor even talked him about getting a quote while he was at my job. They came out and did the work right away, and they did a great job!

Mickey Construction was one of 2 Angie's List companies I contacted to quote on a driveway replacement. Both companies were A rated companies but the other company said no city permit was needed. Stephen Mickey assured me that a permit was mandatory but he would take care of it. Stephen and his crew came and removed and then re-poured a new driveway. They and also installed a utility pad in our back yard. The work was done in 3/4 of a day and the workmanship is outstanding! His team cleaned up thoroughly when they finished also. If you need concrete work this is the company to call!

He was willing to drive pretty far just for an estimate. He came a day or two after I called him. He was very proffesional and punctual. We just ended up going with a different company. I would call him again for estimates.

Stephen Mickey (owner) came to my home at our scheduled time of 7:00AM to give me a bid on replacing my driveway. He was at my house at 6:50 waiting in his truck. The initial bid included - Saw cut, Demo concrete and remove from property. Set Forms, Grade to 5?, install 3/8? rebar 18?OC. Set up and pour 3000PSI Concrete, Vibrate forms, Wreck forms Clean off job. Remove and reinstall 13 ft of fence. TOTAL $7550.00 WITH ANGIE?S DISCOUNT This was to be a 2 day job. On the start day Stephen and his crew showed up on time early in the morning to begin work. I watched as they began demoing my old driveway that ran down the side of the house. Thats when things got interesting I called an audible and asked him if we could not only do the original job but also add a circular drive. This more than doubled the work we had already agreed upon. I would not have blamed him if he had declined but he said they would be able to take the additional work. this required last minute permits and concrete. Over the next four days he and his crew worked hard each day arriving on time and working very efficiently. By the end of the job that turned out to be a total of four days due to the additional work they had poured well over 2k sqft of 5" thick concrete with 3/8" rebar, cut two curbs, replaced one approach, created a second approach, removed a tree and two stumps, took down a 13' section of fence relocated and rebuilt it, and even laid PVC under the driveway for future sprinklers or electricity. They also left warning cones for 5 days after the job to ensure no one would prematurely drive on the curing concrete. After all the changes and more than doubling the work at the last minute the grand total was $16,300....well worth it for such a job well done. The drive turned out far better than I could have envisioned and all my neighbors have made it a point to compliment the new addition to my home. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MICKEY CONSTRUCTION.
